morning.

Wen Yisheng slept soundly and had a sweet dream about her parents who died in a car accident.

In my dream, they were still there. The family of three lived in a small but not crowded house, their life warm and ordinary. They had a golden retriever named Zhizhi.

But at the end of the dream, her parents disappeared, and her soft-furred, docile, and obedient dog suddenly pounced on her like a madman, knocking her to the ground and licking her frantically!

Her face was covered in saliva from being licked.

The dog even tore at her clothes! They pinned her to the ground, preventing her from getting up or going out to find her family!

In her dream, Wen Yisheng was so angry that she punched the dog with her little fists. In the end, the bad dog bared its teeth fiercely and bit her hard on the mouth!

Then, she was bitten awake.

Wen Yisheng opened her eyes, feeling dazed for a while. She hated the seemingly docile but actually fierce and cunning golden retriever in her dream for disturbing her sweet dream!

"By the way, I don't think my family has ever had a dog before..."

Wen Yisheng sat on the bed with her limp hair, her sleepy eyes half-open as she stared at a point in front of her, muttering to herself.

And the bad dog is named Zhizhi...

Uh...? Why is it so strange?

Wen Yisheng shook her groggy head, patted her face, and got out of bed to wash up. As usual, she went to school with Wen Zhi and got off the bus at the roadside.

After getting off the car, she looked at the gentle profile of the boy through the half-open car window.

Hesitant to speak.

Wen Zhi looked up at him, his eyes gentle: "What's wrong?"

Wen Yisheng gripped the straps of her backpack tightly and bent down to get closer to the boy in the car.

Clearly, he has something to say.

Wen Zhi raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes looking clear and harmless beneath his soft, short, choppy hair: "What do you want to say?"

"Um."

Wen Yisheng nodded and said, "Wen Zhi, I'm sorry. In my dream, I turned you into a vicious and lewd bad dog."

Wen Zhi: "...?"

The blazing sun streamed through the bright windows into the classroom. The campus sunlight was the most beautiful, intense, and dazzling, accompanied by the chirping of cicadas outside the window, sprinkling onto the desks and blackboards filled with textbooks.

Wen Yisheng arrived early; there weren't many people in the classroom yet.

Wen Zhi arrived before her, leaning back in his chair drinking water, his chin tilted back in a smooth arc, his prominent, pale Adam's apple bobbing up and down.

Seeing her arrive, he put down his cup and asked in a clear, gentle voice, "Why did you apologize just now?"

"She ran away right after saying that, and her brother couldn't catch her even if he wanted to."

Wen Yisheng's gaze lingered on his Adam's apple for two seconds.

For some reason, I feel... astringent.

"No, it's just that I think I dreamt about you last night." Wen Yisheng looked away and sat down.

Wen Zhi seemed oblivious to her gaze, and curled his lips: "So, I was a villain in your dream? Otherwise, Asheng wouldn't have apologized to me."

Wen Yisheng paused for a moment, then shook her head.

"He's not a bad guy."

"Um?"

"It's a bad dog."

Wen Zhi: ...? ? ?

Very well, he's not even human anymore. Wen Zhi was both amused and exasperated.

As soon as Wen Yisheng put down her schoolbag, she saw Lu Zhizhou swagger in through the front door of the classroom, carrying a paper bag, which he placed on Wen Yisheng's desk.

Wen Yisheng asked in confusion, "What's this? What are you doing?"

Lu Zhizhou winked at Wen Zhi and said, "You've gotten so thin, it makes me feel bad. I brought you some nutritious breakfast to help you recover."

Wen Zhi sipped his water, glanced at Lu Zhizhou indifferently, and smiled silently.

"No, I've already eaten," Wen Yisheng refused, taking out the English book she was supposed to read during morning reading class.

Lu Zhizhou sighed, "What should I do? I've already bought breakfast. I can't just throw it away if Xiao Shengsheng doesn't eat it, that would be such a waste."

He carried breakfast, pretended to scan the classroom, and raised an eyebrow.

He lazily walked towards the front row where Ye Hehua was sitting.

He shoved the breakfast in his hand in front of her.

Lu Zhizhou looked down at her with a condescending tone: "Hey, Gou Mao, since you and Xiao Shengsheng are usually the best of friends, and since Xiao Shengsheng isn't going to eat it, we can't let it go to waste, so you can have it."

Ye Hehua buried herself in her homework.

She didn't even look at him.

A head of dry, yellow curly hair was facing him.

Ye Hehua: "Get lost."

Lu Zhizhou was stunned for a moment, then his face turned ashen: "I kindly brought you breakfast, and you fucking..."

"unnecessary."

Lu Zhizhou suppressed his anger, gritted his teeth, and slammed the breakfast he was holding onto her table: "I don't care if you need it or not, I'm just putting it here for you. If you don't want it, just throw it away."

Lu Zhizhou turned and left, angrily kicking away an innocent school chair.

"If it weren't for keeping your word, who the hell would bring breakfast to a country bumpkin like you? It would be embarrassing if someone saw it."

Wen Yisheng hid her face behind the upright textbook.

The large, clear black and white eyes slowly rose from the textbook, turning their heads to look at Lu Zhizhou, who was walking past the window with a displeased expression.

What is he doing?

Wen Yisheng gently approached Wen Zhi, her cheeks slightly puffed out: "I feel like Lu Zhizhou was using me as a shield just now."

Wen Zhi raised an eyebrow and smiled, looking at her: "What do you mean?"

Wen Yisheng lowered her voice: "He deliberately said that breakfast was delivered to me, but I don't live on campus, so I must have eaten breakfast before coming to school. Therefore, I guess his initial goal was to draw!"

The girl's eyes were slightly narrowed, like a wary little animal, and her porcelain-white face had a serious cuteness.

Wen Zhi licked the inside of his lips with the tip of his tongue and took out a hard candy with filling from his pocket.

Tear open the candy wrapper and put it in your mouth.

The deep desire in his eyes was somewhat suppressed.

"So, why do you think Lu Zhizhou did this?"

Wen Yisheng thought for a few seconds, her expression as heavy as if her idol had been followed by a shady reporter.

"Because...because..."

Wen Yisheng paused, a faint scent of candy wafting into her nostrils. Her brows furrowed: "Why are you eating candy again?"

Wen Zhi seems to eat candy every day; it's the first time she's ever seen a boy who loves candy so much!

"Hmm, here's one for you." Wen Zhi smiled and took out another candy, stuffing it into her soft hand.

He had a lot of candy in his pocket, like Doraemon's little pocket, just for Wen Yisheng to open.

"I'm not eating, morning reading class is about to start."

"All right."

Wen Yisheng was still thinking about Lu Zhizhou when the sweet scent of candy lingered around her nose, causing her to pause in thought.

"Wen Zhi," she nudged him with her elbow, her tone somewhat earnest, "could you eat less sugar, okay?"

Wen Zhi turned to look at her and saw Wen Yisheng sternly trying to scare him:

"Beware of rotten teeth, weight gain, and diabetes in old age!"

"It really is extremely dangerous!"

Wen Zhi paused for a moment, then suddenly laughed. His voice was gentle, and his laughter was particularly captivating.

It felt like a feather gently brushing against my ear, making my whole body feel weak and tingly.

"What are you laughing at?"

Wen Yisheng felt that her good intentions had been laughed at, and was slightly annoyed: "What's so funny? Stop laughing, or you'll choke!"

She turned her head, hugged her arms, and leaned on the table to read, moving the textbooks on the table further away from him.

Wen Zhi suppressed the upward curve of his lips, propped his face up with his hand on the table, and turned his head slightly to look at her.

"It's all your fault."

Wen Zhi truthfully said, "I actually don't like eating sweets."

"I eat sweets every day because of you."

He's so unreasonable: "If Ah Sheng really gets sick, she has to take responsibility for her brother."

Oh my, look at this person! This is the first time Wen Yisheng has ever met someone who tries to shift the blame so ridiculously!

He ate the candy himself, and then blamed her for it, right?

Even Dou E wasn't as wronged as her!

Wen Yisheng got a little grumpy. "Did I give you the candy, or did I force it into your mouth?"

Wen Zhi blinked, his expression innocent: "Neither."

The morning reading bell rang, and Wen Yisheng put aside her thoughts of memorizing vocabulary: "That's settled then."

Wen Zhizhi stood up, bit into the hard candy, and the sweet filling inside filled his mouth.

But my brother wants to kiss Ah Sheng.

I miss it so much that I can only relieve it by eating candy.

Otherwise, you'll be the one eating.

Tell me, isn't this all your fault?
