After reading the message, the faint look of disappointment on Lan Yujuan's face froze instantly.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Her daughter asked sweetly, holding her finger and gently shaking her arm.

Lan Yujuan put away her phone, picked up her daughter, turned and walked into the house, smiling slightly:

"It's nothing, Mommy checks the time, baby should go back to his room to watch cartoons!"

As soon as my daughter heard it was time to watch cartoons, she clapped her hands excitedly.

As Lan Yujuan walked into the house, she glanced out of the corner of her eye in the direction of Liu Meiling's house next door.

The mother-in-law and sister-in-law were sitting in the neighboring yard, chatting animatedly with a group of like-minded women.

My brother-in-law went out after breakfast, and nobody knows where he went.

My father-in-law also went out with a hoe, supposedly to dig a hole in the ground. Which hole he was digging, however, remains unknown.

The Liu family's gate was wide open, and the house was quiet inside.

Unless it's something important, nobody usually wants to come to your door.

Lan Yujuan carried her daughter back to the room, gave her some snacks, and then played cartoons on the tablet.

The little one was so engrossed in watching that he didn't even notice his mother quietly leaving the room.

Lan Yujuan was very nervous. Following her memory from a few days ago, she found the place where the family kept their household registration books, and then quickly took out her daughter Liu Xiaoman's household registration book.

To make it easier for her husband Liu Zhiyuan to attend school, the family obtained a separate household registration for him, making Liu Zhiyuan the head of the household.

The rest of the Liu family members used a separate household registration book.

Later, after the birth of his daughter, Liu Xiaoman was added to Liu Zhiyuan's household registration.

The father and daughter have two household registration books. The husband, Liu Zhiyuan, carries one with him at all times for work purposes.

The other one is kept at home by her mother-in-law, Tian Xiuhua. Her daughter goes to her mother-in-law to get it when she needs it.

Lan Yujuan originally planned to retrieve her household registration book from her mother-in-law after the Lantern Festival, when her daughter's kindergarten started.

But given the recent series of events and Liu Zhiyuan's sudden return home, something unexpected might happen.

She couldn't be careless; she had to get her daughter's household registration booklet first.

Lan Yujuan had just returned to her room and hidden her household registration book when she heard a commotion outside.

"My son, you're finally back!" Tian Xiuhua's wailing voice clearly echoed back into the room.

Even her daughter, who had just been engrossed in watching cartoons, was startled and looked up.

"Grandma's crying again!" the little one said innocently, pointing out the window. "What's wrong with Grandma? Why is she always crying?"

Lan Yujuan gently patted her daughter's head and said softly, "It's alright."

"Grandma is happy that Daddy is back!"

The little guy tilted his head back, looking like he understood but didn't quite.

"Mom, are you happy?"

Lan Yujuan paused for a moment, then silently looked away and said softly, "I'm happy!"

"Being with Xiaoman makes Mom happy every day!"

The little one tilted his head, moved closer to Lan Yujuan, and said with a sweet, soft smile, "Mommy's happy, so is baby!"

Inside the room, the mother and daughter were playing on a playmat covered with an electric blanket when the husband, Liu Zhiyuan, carrying a suitcase, pushed open the door and entered the room.

"Didn't you see the message I sent you?" The husband's voice clearly carried a hint of displeasure.

Lan Yujuan looked up in surprise. "Oh, why are you back today? I wasn't looking at my phone."

Seeing the man enter the room, she didn't get up. Instead, she helped her daughter tidy up her toys while smiling and saying:

"Did you come back alone?"

Liu Zhiyuan was about to ask a few questions, but the words caught in his throat, and he swallowed them back guiltily, putting down his luggage while trying to cover up his embarrassment:

"What kind of question is that?"

"Besides myself, who else can I bring back?"

"You don't think I'm keeping a mistress outside, do you?" Liu Zhiyuan asked, half-jokingly and half-probingly.

Lan Yujuan raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Oh, don't you have any?"

In an instant, Liu Zhiyuan's joking expression froze. He was unsure whether Lan Yujuan really knew or was deliberately trying to trick him into revealing information.

After being hit where it hurt, Liu Zhiyuan felt somewhat embarrassed and annoyed, and his face immediately darkened.

"I just got home, what nonsense are you spouting?"

"We've been together for so many years, don't you know what kind of person I am?"

"If I hadn't transferred 800,000 to you on New Year's Eve, none of this trouble would have happened at home!"

"So much so that even after I returned to Beijing, I couldn't stop working overtime, and I had to take leave to rush back and clean up your mess!"

Lan Yujuan's smile gradually faded. After turning on the cartoon for her daughter, she stood up and said softly:

"You know better than I do exactly why this happened."

"You don't have to blame me for everything as soon as you come back."

"Liu Zhiyuan, I know you're a capable person now!"

"Whether you want to be filial to your parents, or buy a house or help your younger siblings get married, I have no objection."

"Perfect timing, while you're back, let's settle everything that needs settling once and for all!"

Liu Zhiyuan was so angry that he stopped talking, snorted coldly, and turned to walk out.

"I'm hungry, I'm going to eat!"

Lan Yujuan watched her husband's retreating figure, her mind perfectly clear.

Liu Zhiyuan rushed back specifically for the 800,000 yuan she had!

Everyone in the Liu family was eyeing this money, wanting to keep it for themselves and transfer as much as possible into their own names.

Liu Zhiyuan wanted to save face but was unwilling to share any real benefits, which is why he rushed home.

But this 800,000 yuan is what she deserves for the four years she's been married to Liu Zhiyuan. She wants to leave it all to her daughter, and no one should take a single penny!

Lan Yujuan took out her phone and silently booked plane tickets for herself and her daughter to go back to her parents' home.

The mess left by the Liu family is now handed back to Liu Zhiyuan.

Now she has everything she was entitled to.

She will take her daughter back to her parents' home first, arrange for the child to attend kindergarten, and then slowly fight the lawsuit against Liu Zhiyuan!
