When lunch was served, Lan Qingqing's father carefully carried down a jar of bayberry wine from the top of a cabinet in the storage room.

"This is wine I brewed myself, using fresh wild bayberries picked from the mountains, the biggest and roundest ones."

"Add rock sugar and grain wine brewed in the next village."

"This jar of wine has been soaking for several months!"

"I usually don't want to move out when guests come to my house."

Like a treasure being presented, Mr. Lan showed off his prize while handing out drinks to everyone.

Apart from the driver and two young men under the age of eighteen, everyone else present collapsed one by one.

Seeing that Lan's father was about to persuade Lin Feng to drink, Lan Qingqing quickly stood up and blocked Lin Feng, saying vaguely:

"Dad, he can't drink alcohol."

"Your brother-in-law can drink, why don't you go drink with him!"

Lan Qingqing had a sudden inspiration and pointed directly at Chen Mo, who was diagonally opposite her.

Chen Mo, who was serving food to his wife, was instantly amused and annoyed. He leaned close to Lan Yujuan's ear and chuckled softly:

"You little rascal, you're really good at getting your brother-in-law into trouble!"

"She's quite protective of her own people."

Lan Yujuan chuckled to herself, then reached back and touched Chen Mo's face, teasingly advising him:

"Since I'm calling you brother-in-law, then you should have a few more drinks today!"

"But drink slowly."

"This bayberry wine tastes sweet and fragrant, but it has a relatively high alcohol content and can easily make you drunk."

Chen Mo picked up his wine glass, took a sip, winked at her, and said, "Hmm, it's nothing."

However, the father on the other side was so enthusiastic about urging his daughter to drink that he didn't take her words to heart at all.

As he smiled and pushed his daughter aside, Mr. Lan continued to persuade her:

"Silly girl, how could a man not know how to drink?"

"Saying you won't drink means you haven't persuaded me enough!"

Seeing that she couldn't stop him, Lan Qingqing simply reached out to snatch the wine jar from her father's hand, frowning as she said:

"Dad, he really can't drink!"

"The doctors all advised him to take good care of his throat during this period and not to drink alcohol so often."

Upon hearing this, Mr. Lan frowned and looked at the two of them suspiciously.

"What's your relationship with the two of you?"

How do you know so much about his affairs?

Upon hearing this, Lan Qingqing was so frightened that she immediately released the wine jar and waved her hand, saying:

"It's nothing, we're just ordinary friends."

"Dad, don't make wild guesses, it's kind of scary!"

After hearing the explanation, Mr. Lan breathed a sigh of relief, and a smile returned to his face.

"Hey, if we're just friends, why are you stopping me?"

"Young ladies shouldn't interfere in men's drinking games."

After speaking, Lan's father leaned forward and smiled at Lin Feng, saying:

"Xiaolin, Qingqing said you had a sore throat a while ago and even had to be hospitalized. Are you feeling better now?"

"You probably haven't taken those anti-inflammatory drugs like cephalosporins, have you?"

Lin Feng quickly explained, "Uncle, thank you for your concern!"

"I'm much better now, and I haven't taken any anti-inflammatory drugs for a long time."

Upon hearing this, Mr. Lan's smile grew even brighter.

"You've stopped taking the medication? That's good!"

"Your voice sounds so beautiful right now!"

"Listening to you speak is like listening to a big star sing on TV; you don't sound like your voice is still sore at all!"

"Come on, come on, you rarely come to my house, you have to have a drink!"

"Bring me your cup, let me fill it up for you, and toast you!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Feng immediately stood up respectfully, then handed over the empty wine glass, flatteringly smiling:

"Uncle brewed his own wine, I absolutely have to try it!"

Lan Qingqing stood to the side, watching as one was willing to hit and the other was willing to be hit, and she couldn't stop them even if she wanted to!

"Alright, alright, half a cup is enough!"

Seeing that she couldn't stop him, Lan Qingqing simply took an empty glass and poured most of the wine from Lin Feng's glass.

Seeing that Lan's father was dissatisfied and wanted to go back and refill Lin Feng's cup, he realized that Lan's father was unhappy with the situation and wanted to pour the cup back for Lin Feng.

Lan Qingqing immediately grabbed her father's collar, stood on tiptoe, and whispered a warning in his ear:

"Dad, if you dare to urge anyone to drink again, I'll tell Mom about you secretly lending money to your friends!"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Lan immediately shrank back, blushing as he glared at his daughter.

"Hey! This is adult stuff, kids shouldn't meddle!"

Lan Qingqing blinked, her eyes clearly threatening.

Mr. Lan could only vaguely agree: "Alright, alright, I know he can't drink, so I won't try to persuade him anymore."

The lunch was a delight for all the guests.

Mr. Lan finished the entire jar of bayberry wine.

After lunch, before he could even go back to his room, Mr. Lan leaned back in his chair and fell fast asleep.

It was Lin Feng and Chen Mo who helped, and they managed to stagger the person back to their room.

Lan Yujuan was pregnant and started feeling sleepy right after finishing her meal.

She had just been led into the guest room and fallen asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

Chen Mo wasn't sleepy at all, so he simply took out his notebook and started dealing with work-related matters by the bedside.

Qin Shuyi heard that there was a large grove of osmanthus trees in the village, so while everyone was resting, she dragged Li Le along to shake the osmanthus trees again.

They said they wanted to collect osmanthus flowers, dry them, and then have the housekeeper make osmanthus cakes for them.

Li Le followed closely behind, focusing on being responsive to every request.

Lin Feng only drank half a glass of wine. Although his face was slightly flushed, his mind was clear, and he was not even slightly drunk.

Lan Qingqing herself, however, was completely drunk by her own father's half-cup of bayberry wine.

After getting drunk, Lan Qingqing somehow found an old, dusty guitar and kept pestering Lin Feng, insisting on hearing him sing.

"Sing!"

"Sing this just for me!"
