Jiang Zhiyu's figure teleported to the vicinity of the warehouse like a ghost.

This is a long-abandoned brick factory warehouse on the east side of the county town. The red brick walls are mottled and peeling, and most of the glass in the windows has long been broken. The night wind blows in through the holes, making a mournful sound.

A rusty iron padlock hung crookedly by the door, and two guards were squatting by the door smoking and chatting idly.

"Click."

Before the guard could react, he felt a blur before his eyes, and his entire body was bound tightly by an invisible force. Even his mouth was tightly strangled by vines, and he could only let out muffled groans.

Jiang Zhiyu emerged from the shadows, glanced at them expressionlessly, and with a casual wave of her hand, dragged the two guards to a dead corner of the warehouse, where they lay unconscious.

She took a deep breath and kicked open the dilapidated wooden door—

Then, her eyes instantly reddened.

The warehouse was pitch black, with only a rickety oil lamp hanging in the corner, emitting a dim yellow light. By this faint light, Jiang Zhiyu could make out the scene inside.

There was a layer of straw on the ground, and two people were lying on the straw.

They are her parents.

Su Wanqing huddled in the corner, her clothes torn and tattered from being whipped, covered in welts and bruises. Her face was swollen and distorted, with dried blood still clinging to the corner of her mouth. She lay motionless, as if she had fainted.

Jiang Boxun lay beside her, shielding his wife with his own body. His back was a bloody mess, his clothes soaked in blood, and several deep, bone-revealing whip marks were a horrifying sight. His chest rose and fell only slightly, barely showing any sign of breathing.

Jiang Zhiyu felt as if her heart had been squeezed tightly, the pain making it almost impossible for her to breathe.

Her parents, her own parents, were actually tortured like this!

"Dad! Mom!"

Jiang Zhiyu rushed over in three strides, knelt down, and hugged her mother tightly. Her fingers trembled as she touched her mother's nose—she was still breathing, albeit very weakly.

She fought back tears and checked her father's breath again. He was still alive. Though weak, he was still alive.

"Seventeen," she asked anxiously in her mind, "scan their physical condition."

"Scanning..." Seventeen's voice quickly sounded, tinged with seriousness. "Host, your mother has severe external injuries, with twenty-seven whip marks all over her body, three of which are deep enough to expose bone. She also has a mild concussion and is extremely weak. Your father has eleven whip marks on his back, two of which have damaged tendons and bones. He has lost a lot of blood, but his life is not in danger."

Not life threatening.

Jiang Zhiyu breathed a sigh of relief, her heart finally at ease.

Thankfully, she arrived just in time.

She took out the spiritual spring water from the spring source in her spatial storage—not the diluted kind, but the most concentrated batch taken directly from the spring source.

High-concentration spiritual spring water has the effects of rapidly repairing serious injuries, expelling deep toxins, and promoting the upgrading of supernatural abilities. When used to treat injuries, the effect is absolutely immediate.

She first helped her mother up and fed her the spring water little by little. Then she gave her father a cup.

The clear, cool spring water slid down Su Wanqing's throat, like a warm current flowing through her body. The shocking whip marks began to heal at a visible speed, her swollen face slowly subsided, and the dried blood gradually faded, revealing the fair skin underneath.

After a while, Su Wanqing's eyelids twitched, and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Know...know me?"

Her voice was hoarse and weak, but her eyes lit up instantly—the kind of light that only comes when you see your daughter whom you've been longing for day and night.

"Mom, I'm here." Jiang Zhiyu gripped her hand tightly, her voice trembling slightly. "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Su Wanqing paused for a moment, then turned her head to look around—it was still the same dilapidated warehouse where they were imprisoned, and the oil lamp in the corner was still flickering.

"Zhiyu, what are you doing here?" She struggled to sit up. "Quick, get out of here! Those people are coming for our house, you have to leave right now!"

"Mom, don't move." Jiang Zhiyu pressed her back down. "Since I dared to come here, I'm absolutely confident. Those people can't do anything to me."

As she spoke, she turned to check on her father. Jiang Boxun was also slowly waking up, feeling warm all over and not at all like someone who had been severely tortured. He opened his eyes blankly.

"My daughter..."

The moment he saw his daughter, the man in his fifties' eyes instantly welled up with tears.

His biggest worry in life was his wife and daughter. He took his wife to a labor camp, thinking that was the end of his life. But his daughter suddenly appeared and showed him those "special abilities," which made him realize that this child was far more capable than they had imagined.

But he never dared to ask too many questions. He was afraid that if he asked too many, his daughter would disappear from his life at any moment.

Everything before him felt so real. His daughter was right in front of him, holding his wife's hand, her eyes red and swollen.

He had just felt warm water slide down his throat, and Jiang Zhenbang felt a warm sensation all over his body; the excruciating pain vanished instantly. He looked down at his hands—the backs of his hands, which had just been bloody and mangled, were now smooth as if nothing had happened.

He was surprised, but he also knew that it was thanks to his daughter's "special ability".

"Daughter..." He wiped his face, his voice choked with emotion, "Daddy didn't really want to ask about those things, but... I still want to ask one more question—did using those special abilities harm you?"

Jiang Zhiyu was stunned for a moment.

"If it hurts you, then don't do it again." Jiang Zhenbang finally couldn't hold back his tears. "Our injuries will heal with time; we can't let them become a burden to you."

Jiang Zhiyu felt a lump in her throat and almost couldn't hold back her tears.

Having transmigrated from a post-apocalyptic world, she had witnessed far too many selfish and self-serving people, some even trading their own children for food to survive. Yet, her parents, despite suffering such severe injuries, still felt worried about her first reaction.

"Don't worry, Dad." She sniffed hard and smiled. "This is nothing to me; it doesn't affect me at all."

Jiang Boxun looked at her, and only after confirming that what she said was true did he nod in relief.

Seeing that her parents had almost recovered, Jiang Zhiyu got up and walked out of the warehouse.

The two guards were still unconscious in the corner. She scanned their memories with her mental power—there was nothing useful; they were just two low-level henchmen hired to watch people, completely unaware of what was going on behind the scenes.

Jiang Zhiyu's poison-based superpowers caused them to fall into a deep coma again, erasing their memories of the night.

She took out two sets of clothes she had bought in the port city from her storage space. They were simple styles suitable for rural wear, complete with both inner and outer garments. Then she took a few pieces of bread and two cartons of milk before turning back to the warehouse. She placed the items on the broken table next to her.

"Mom and Dad, please change your clothes first."

Su Wanqing and Jiang Boxun helped each other to their feet and took the clothes their daughter handed them. The fabric was soft and thick, and the style was simple and elegant, far better than the patched, coarse cloth clothes they had worn before.

The two turned around and quietly changed their clothes. Jiang Zhiyu waited to the side, not watching for long.

After changing her clothes, Jiang Zhiyu handed them bread and milk.

"Let's grab a bite to eat first; it'll be dawn soon. We'll rest at the county guesthouse when it gets light, and then head back to Kaoshantun."

Su Wanqing took the bread, her eyes reddening again: "Zhiyu, the villagers of Kaoshantun have suffered terribly this time. We've dragged them down with us..."

Jiang Zhiyu nodded without saying anything.

Of course she knew. Village Chief Uncle Chen had been beaten bloody, and many villagers who tried to help had been beaten by those beasts. Once she had settled her parents, she wouldn't let any of them get away with it.

Jiang Boxun took a bite of bread and a sip of milk, saying between bites, "Zhiyu, your godparents must be frantic with worry at home. Your godfather is injured too! And quite badly!"

"Dad, I know." Jiang Zhiyu's eyes darkened. "I won't treat anyone who helped us this time unfairly."

The three of them finished eating, and the sky was already beginning to lighten with the first hint of dawn.

Jiang Zhiyu checked the warehouse one last time to make sure there were no traces left before leading her parents toward the guesthouse.

The morning breeze carried a hint of coolness, dispelling the heaviness of the night. Gradually, pedestrians appeared on the streets, mostly farmers heading to the early market, carrying loads on their shoulders and pushing carts, heading towards the town.

Jiang Zhiyu helped her mother walk in front, with Jiang Boxun following behind.

"Mom and Dad," she suddenly spoke, her voice soft but chilling, "I'll go to Kyoto once you're settled."

Su Wanqing and Jiang Boxun were both stunned for a moment.

"Those who came for our home," Jiang Zhiyu said with a cold smile, "we can't keep being so passive."

Let's see if those people can withstand her wrath!
