Jiang Zhiyu rode her bicycle towards the town, the cold wind making her cheeks numb, but she didn't slow down. Tomorrow, Song Yanzhou would lead a team into the mountains, and there would be many spies around Kaoshantun. She needed to get rid of a batch of grain from her spatial storage now, lest things get complicated.

As she approached the town, she turned into a secluded grove of trees, stored her bicycle in her storage space, and dusted herself off. The aroma of the state-run restaurant wafted on the breeze, making her stomach rumble—her morning tea was long gone.

She strode into the state-run restaurant, which was nearly empty. A waiter, dozing at the counter, opened his eyes slightly when she entered: "What would you like to order?"

"Two plates of braised pork, a dish of stir-fried vegetables, and three bowls of rice." Jiang Zhiyu slapped the money and food coupons on the counter. "Also, pack three identical portions to go, with extra meat."

The waiter raised an eyebrow: "You're packing up so much?"

"It was specifically requested by the unit leader," Jiang Zhiyu said without changing her expression, "They said your family's chef has the best cooking skills in the whole town, and they wanted us to prepare more."

The portly head chef in the kitchen overheard this, poked his head out, and chuckled, "This comrade has good taste!" He waved his ladle, "The meat's fresh today, I'll cut you a couple extra pieces!"

Jiang Zhiyu, with her sharp eyes, noticed that he had added two more large pieces of pork belly to the plate. She quickly took out six fruit candies from her pocket and handed them to the waiter, saying, "Thank you for your hard work, comrade. This is just a small token of my appreciation." She then gestured with her chin toward the chef.

The waiter immediately understood, turned around and went into the kitchen, handing three candies to the chef: "That lady gave them to me, saying she was thanking me for adding extra meat."

The chef took it, peeled one open, popped it into his mouth, and smiled so broadly his eyes narrowed into slits: "This girl knows how to get things done! My kid craves these, she'll be so happy when she gets home."

Soon, all the dishes were served. Jiang Zhiyu sat down and wolfed down her food. The braised pork was glistening with oil, melting in her mouth—it tasted better than the sweet and savory dishes she'd had in Gangcheng Village. She actually preferred this kind of strong-flavored food. Just as she was enjoying her meal, 0047's voice sounded in her mind: [Host, a black market has been detected behind the town's primary school.]

"Got it." Jiang Zhiyu finished her rice in a few bites, picked up the packed food, and put it into her spatial storage when no one was looking. "Go to the black market first, and then go back to the village as soon as you're done."

Jiang Zhiyu turned and left, finding a secluded spot to enter her space. She changed into some dusty clothes and smeared some mud on her face—better safe than sorry, black market transactions shouldn't be taken lightly.

She went around to the back of the town's primary school and, sure enough, saw a shady-looking young man crouching in the corner, looking around suspiciously. Jiang Zhiyu walked over and whispered, "Looking for Scarface."

The young man sized her up: "What do you have to offer?"

"food."

The young man's eyes lit up, and he immediately stood up: "Come with me."

After passing through two narrow alleys, they arrived at a dilapidated courtyard. The young man shouted, "Scarface, someone's making a delivery!"

A man with a scar on his face walked out of the house, his eyes dark and menacing: "What kind of goods do you have?"

"2000 catties of corn," Jiang Zhiyu said bluntly. "If you can afford it, I'll pay. Also, I collect old items; you can use them as collateral."

Scarface scoffed, "There's nothing in this town that Scarface can't stomach." He rubbed his hands together. "I have some old stuff, but it depends on the quality of your grain."

"The transaction will take place in the pine forest in the eastern suburbs in an hour." Jiang Zhiyu was too lazy to waste words with him. "Bring plenty of money and valuables. To avoid trouble."

Scarface narrowed his eyes: "Don't worry, I, Scarface, am very particular about the rules when it comes to business."

When she reached the pine forest in the eastern suburbs, she checked that no one was around, then neatly stacked the 2000 jin of grain. She then left some footprints around the area. Not long after she finished,

Scarface arrived with four henchmen, and a cart was parked nearby. Seeing that she was alone, a greedy glint flashed in Scarface's eyes: "Where's the food?"

Jiang Zhiyu casually pointed and said, "See for yourself."

One of the henchmen ran over, untied the sack, grabbed a handful of corn kernels, popped them into his mouth, and chewed them: "Boss, this grain is really good! It's plump and sweet!"

Scarface nodded and dragged four wooden boxes off the cart: "These are old items I collected. Take a look and see how much they're worth."

Jiang Zhiyu opened the box; all three pieces were just scrap metal, except for a jade thumb ring that looked somewhat spiritual. "Host, the thumb ring contains a faint energy; the others are useless," 0047 said.

She put the ring in her pocket: "These together are worth 50 jin of grain. The remaining 1950 jin, at 12 cents per jin, give me 234 yuan."

Scarface's face darkened: "Why don't you just rob someone? It's only fourteen cents in the county town, and you're offering this price..."

"If you think it's too expensive, then forget it." Jiang Zhiyu pretended to call for help. "I'll go to the county town to sell it tomorrow, and I can earn more."

"No, no, no!" Scarface quickly stopped him. "Just do as you say!" He made his underlings pay, while he stared at Jiang Zhiyu.

The henchmen quickly weighed the grain, collecting 234 pieces, and handed it over. Scarface smiled awkwardly: "Pleasant cooperation. Come back to me if you need anything in the future..."

Before he could finish speaking, Scarface ordered his men to move the grain out of the grove. [Host, those five men are suspicious; they exude a strong murderous aura.] Alarm 0047 sounded.

Jiang Zhiyu accepted the four boxes and the money, a cold smile playing on her lips. She was definitely planning to double-cross them.

She left the pine forest, deliberately heading towards a more secluded area. Scarface and his two henchmen followed, carrying machetes. "You bitch, leave your money and old stuff behind!" Scarface roared menacingly. "Tell me where you got your supplies, or you're not leaving here today."

Jiang Zhiyu slowly turned around, her eyes as cold as ice: "Just you guys?"

"You're asking for it!" Scarface charged forward, brandishing his machete.

Jiang Zhiyu dodged to the side and slapped him across the face. With a crisp "smack," Scarface was sent spinning around, five red marks instantly appearing on his face.

"You dare hit me?!" Scarface was both shocked and furious, and tried to pounce on him again.

Jiang Zhiyu didn't give him a chance, and slapped him twice more, this time with a bit of supernatural power. With two loud "slaps," Scarface's face swelled up like a pig's head, and blood was dripping from the corner of his mouth.

"What are you all standing there for! Hurry up and get her! Chop this bitch into pieces and feed her to the dogs!" Scarface took a step back in fright.

Seeing this, two henchmen rushed over, brandishing machetes: "Boss, we'll help you!"

Jiang Zhiyu snorted coldly, grabbed one of their arms, and twisted it behind their backs. A sharp crack echoed, the sound of bones dislocating was clearly audible. The two henchmen screamed and fell to the ground.

She kicked the two men in the knees, and with two more "crack" sounds, the two men rolled on the ground clutching their legs.

Scarface was terrified: "You...you filthy bitch, do you know who I am? You should know my reputation in this town!" Scarface was so frightened that all he could do now was threaten.

"I don't care who you are, your mouth stinks! Let me disinfect it for you, okay!" Jiang Zhiyu picked up the wooden stick from the ground, walked up to Scarface with a smile, and hit him on the mouth with the stick.

"Ah—" Scarface screamed in agony, several of his teeth fell out, blood and foam gushed from his mouth, and he could no longer speak clearly.

"I wanted to make a proper deal, but you're asking for it." Jiang Zhiyu looked down at him. "Double-crossing? Don't you know your own limitations?" The two henchmen were now trembling with fear.

Too lazy to kill, she raised her hand and used her psychic ability to stab the three men in the temples, imprisoning their consciousness and making them suffer more than dead. Watching themselves live as fools, powerless to change it, was the best punishment for them. She didn't harm their minds, she merely imprisoned them.

After dealing with the three, Jiang Zhiyu caught up with the other two henchmen and gave them the same two-time imprisonment package. She then stored the hauled grain into her spatial storage. "Host, how about we take a trip to Scarface's lair?" 0047 said.

"Let's go take a look." Jiang Zhiyu was free anyway, so she might as well grab something to treat herself.

Scarface's yard wasn't locked. She pushed the door open and went in. 0047's screen lit up before her eyes: [There are four large chests in the east room, with very high spiritual energy!]

Jiang Zhiyu pried open the door and, sure enough, saw four boxes piled in the corner. Opening them, she found them filled with old objects—bronze Buddha statues, jade bracelets, calligraphy and paintings, and several strings of copper coins. She stored all the boxes in her spatial storage, then glanced around the yard, not even leaving behind the rice, flour, and cooking oil from the kitchen.

"Host, you've hit the jackpot this time! The spiritual energy from these old objects is enough to expand the space by another area!" 0047 said excitedly.

Jiang Zhiyu clapped her hands: "That's enough, let's go back to the village."

She found a secluded spot and used 0047 to teleport. When she opened her eyes again, she was already outside Kaoshantun Village. She took out her bicycle from her spatial storage and pushed it into the village.

The village was pitch black, without even a streetlamp; she could only navigate by moonlight. Jiang Zhiyu sighed—that's the downside of this era; going out at night is so inconvenient. Luckily, she had her spatial dimension, which was brightly lit; otherwise, she would have truly collapsed.

Upon arriving at the courtyard, she locked the door, went inside, took a relaxing shower, and heated up some braised pork from a state-run restaurant for a late-night snack. Lying in bed with a face mask on, she suddenly thought of Song Yanzhou—she would see him tomorrow.

"It must be because I've been eating too much lately. Staying warm makes you think about lustful things!" She patted her face. "Song Yanzhou is good-looking, but I'm not that shallow." She muttered to herself as if trying to convince herself.

"Host, your heart is beating faster," 0047 joked.

"Shut up and go to sleep." Jiang Zhiyu pulled the blanket over her head, but her mind was in turmoil.
