By nightfall, after several teleportations, Jiang Zhiyu had reached the vicinity of international waters.

Sure enough, there were three patrol boats on the sea, blatantly flying the flag of the United States, their decks brightly lit. The men there were swaying back and forth with their glasses, some leaning against the railings to drink, others sitting on ammunition boxes clinking glasses—lax and undisciplined. Compared to the Chinese army, they were worlds apart.

Jiang Zhiyu hid in the shadows, spreading her mental energy to hear everything that was happening on the deck.

"I heard those Chinese guys got thrashed at sea a few days ago; two of their soldiers died." A soldier took a swig of beer and scoffed, "They dared to challenge us with that lousy equipment."

A man who looked like an officer leaned against the railing, a whiskey in his hand, and smiled with narrowed eyes. "Major General," he said, "I'll go and show them what I'm capable of tomorrow. I won't go too far, just a few hundred nautical miles away. I'll issue the order, shout some insults at them, and I doubt they'll dare do anything to us."

The man referred to as the major general pondered for a moment, then shook the ice cubes in his glass.

"Okay. Don't overdo it. Just provoke them and let them make the first move. We just need to maintain a high position."

Seventeen screamed in his mind, "Host, they're absolutely despicable! Still badmouthing China late at night!"

"Then let them shut up forever."

Jiang Zhiyu flashed and appeared in a blind spot behind the deck of the ship.

"Seventeen, scan their files."

A few seconds later, Seventeen's voice rang out: "Host, one nuclear submarine is thirty nautical miles away. It's an attack submarine, its main mission being to monitor the movements of the Chinese navy and try to gather intelligence on the base. The other is a ballistic missile submarine, hiding further away in the deep sea, serving as a backup deterrent."

"Host, why don't you take them in too?"

Jiang Zhiyu's lips curved slightly. "Didn't Qi Zhenhai ask me for a nuclear submarine a while ago? Well, here it is, delivered right to my doorstep."

"But host, it disappeared right at our doorstep. Won't the M country suspect China?"

"They lost two aircraft carriers in their own bay last time and couldn't even find out. And we just suffered a loss at their hands a few days ago; they'll only arrogantly assume we're incapable. In their eyes, we're still weak and easily bullied."

She paused, her eyes turning cold.

"These kinds of paranormal events have been happening frequently in the past two years. If they have even the slightest suspicion, I'll store some of our equipment from the South China Sea into my spatial storage, creating the illusion that we're being treated the same way. That way, no one will suspect anything."

"Brilliant, host! This will confuse them even more!"

Jiang Zhiyu stopped talking and silently unleashed her poison-based superpowers.

An invisible force spread with the sea breeze, and one by one, the men on the three ships collapsed. Wine glasses slipped from their hands and rolled far across the deck. The soldiers, who had been laughing and joking just moments before, lay sprawled on the ground like puppets with their strings cut.

Wood-based superpowers followed closely behind; vines extended from the edge of the ship's gunwale, wrapping up the unconscious soldiers one by one and throwing them into the sea.

All three ships were retracted into the space.

"Host, you've hit the jackpot! A missile cruiser, a missile destroyer, and a supply ship. At this rate, I feel like San Du Ao won't be enough for you soon."

"How do you plan to recover the nuclear submarine?" Seventeen reminded her. "The submarine is currently in normal navigation mode, completely sealed off, all hatches are locked, and it's completely isolated from the outside world. What about the people inside?"

Jiang Zhiyu thought for a moment. "Why worry about all that? Let's just take it in first."

She glanced at the US soldiers on the sea, still struggling to save themselves in a daze. They were a dark mass, some clinging to life rings, others holding onto planks floating on the water. The seawater had sobered most of them up.

We didn't linger.

……

With a thought, she instantly teleported to the seabed.

Everything was pitch black; nothing could be seen, not a single ray of light. The seawater was cold and dark, making his skin feel tight. His poison-based ability formed a thin film on his skin, insulating him from the low temperature and pressure of the deep sea.

Not far away, the US ballistic missile submarine, like a sleeping black shark, hovered silently in the water. Only a single searchlight illuminated its hull, its pale beam casting a few meters of light into the water ahead; beyond that, nothing could be seen. Most of the submarine was submerged in the black seawater, with only a few sealed portholes on the conning tower letting out a faint, cold white light.

This place is not suitable for staying for long.

Jiang Zhiyu quietly circled around to the back of the submarine and placed her palm on the cold hull.

A thought arose.

The entire submarine disappeared directly from the seawater and was pulled into space.

……

Inside the submarine.

Major General McNeil was dozing back in his chair in the command center, a cup of coffee that had gone cold beside him. The sonar operator, wearing headphones, stared at the screen; everything seemed no different from usual.

Then, without warning, the entire submarine suddenly shuddered.

The coffee cup slipped from the table and shattered on the floor. The soprano took off his headphones, his face pale.

"Reporting to the Major General, the sonar is completely malfunctioning! All electronic instruments—are completely black!"

McNeil sat bolt upright. "What's going on?"

"I don't know! All systems crashed simultaneously—navigation, communication, propulsion, everything—"

The lights went out.

The emergency light flashed for two seconds and then went out.

The entire submarine was plunged into absolute darkness.

Someone turned on a flashlight, and the pale beam of light swayed back and forth in the narrow command room, illuminating pale faces.

"Where's the nuclear reactor? What's its status?" McNeil's voice was low, but everyone could hear the panic in it.

"The reactor has also shut down, Major General. It wasn't a malfunction; it seems like something cut it off directly."

"Contact the surface! Contact the three patrol vessels!"

The communications officer frantically turned the knob, but there was only deathly silence in the earpiece.

"Unable to contact, Rear Admiral. There's no signal on any frequency band, not just on patrol ships, even satellite communications are down."

"Where are we?" McNeil stood up, his voice trembling, "Give me a place!"

The navigator stared at the dark navigation screen, his fingers randomly pressing the buttons, but there was no response.

"The navigation is gone too... Major General, we don't know where we are."

Panic began to rise inside the submarine. Some shouted, "What's happening?" Others pounded on the bulkheads, and still others prayed. The sailors trapped in the sealed compartments couldn't see outside, but could sense that the submarine was no longer floating steadily in the water as before, but was swaying slightly, as if being supported by something, or as if suspended in mid-air.

"Major General! The external water pressure data is completely wrong!" The sonar operator's voice was almost a scream. "We seem...we seem to be out of the water!"

"Nonsense! If the submarine isn't in the water, where would it be?"

"I don't know! But the pressure reading is zero! There's no water pressure outside! This can't be!"

McNeil felt a cold sweat break out on his back. He had served in the Navy for thirty years and experienced countless maritime crises, but he had never encountered anything like this. All systems on the submarine had failed simultaneously, communications were completely cut off, its location was lost, and now even external water pressure was gone.

This is not a malfunction. Something beyond their comprehension has happened.

"Everyone stay calm, stay put, and do not open any hatches." McNeil forced himself to calm down, but his voice sounded so faint in the darkness that even he couldn't believe it.

The beam of a flashlight flickered against the bulkhead, illuminating rows of tightly closed hatches. Behind those hatches, over a hundred sailors huddled at their posts, barely daring to breathe. No one knew what was happening outside, no one knew if they were still alive, and no one knew they were now in a completely different space.

……

In space, the nuclear submarine hovered quietly on the sea, a great distance away from the other ships that had been brought in earlier.

Jiang Zhiyu stood on the sea, looking at this enormous creature, and let out a long breath.

"Host, aren't you afraid the people inside will escape?"

"They escaped?" She glanced at the submarine's tightly closed hatch. "They don't even know where they are now, they're too afraid to open the door."

"So what do you plan to do?"

Jiang Zhiyu didn't answer. She looked up at the sky in the space, then looked down at the quiet steel behemoth on the water.

"Let's leave it for now! We'll deal with it together once the other one is brought in."
