Chapter 206 Night Battle
As soon as the car came to a stop, Ding Hanhan's car behind it also pulled over and stopped.
A moment later, Ding Hanhan opened the car door and got in, immediately asking, "Master, what do we do now?"
"Don't rush." The advisor waved his hand and took out his phone to call the subordinate who was keeping watch around.
Less than a minute after the call ended, a young man dressed in casual sportswear and riding a scooter zipped over and appeared in their field of vision.
He paused subtly in front of the van, then shrunk into the car like a monkey.
"Master, Miss!" This person greeted Ding Hanhan and the master respectfully. As for the future son-in-law next to him, he didn't recognize him and ignored him.
Ding Hanhan nodded in response. The advisor, however, didn't waste any words and asked directly, "Shitou, what's the situation now? How many people have arrived in total?"
Shi Tou quickly replied, "I'm not sure of the exact number, but there were twelve vehicles in total: vans, minivans, and cars. They were parked quite far apart, but they practically blocked all the hospital exits. I just mustered up the courage to ride around on my skateboard, but I didn't dare get too close. However, I could see that the vehicles were packed with people, at least forty or fifty."
The advisor nodded and then asked, "How long have they been here?"
"It's been a while, almost two hours."
"No one got off the bus?"
"No!"
"Okay, is there anything else you want to report?"
"Yes," Stone said again.
"explain."
"Just before you arrived, Hall Master Lan Mei and Hall Master Lei Ri led a few people inside."
"How many people?" The advisor's expression shifted slightly.
"Five or six women and two men," Stone replied.
"Okay, I understand. You can go and keep an eye on things." The advisor waved his hand.
Without saying a word, the gangster named Stone opened the car door, slipped out, and disappeared into the night with a few whooshes on his skateboard.
The advisor muttered to himself, "How strange, what are Lan Mei and Lei Ri doing here at this time? Could it be that they also want to do something to Ding Sheng...?"
"It shouldn't be that bad." Ding Hanhan interrupted, briefly recounting the conflict at the banquet to the advisor, and concluded, "I reckon Lan Mei was probably accompanying Lei Ri to see his doctor. If they really wanted to harm my father, they wouldn't have brought so few people."
"Gu Feng, did you use excessive force against Lei Ri?" After hearing this, the advisor turned to ask Gu Feng.
"I only used half my strength, but for an ordinary person, it would probably be enough to give him a hard time," Gu Feng said calmly.
"Oh." The advisor nodded and said nothing more.
For a moment, no one spoke. After a long while, Ding Hanhan couldn't help but ask, "Master, what are these people waiting for outside?"
"If they're really after your father's life, there are only two possibilities. One, they're waiting for orders from above. Two, they're scouting the area and figuring out the surrounding environment," the advisor analyzed.
"So, the person who wants my dad dead has quite a few concerns?" Ding Hanhan said.
"This man is not only apprehensive, but also quite cunning and cautious," the advisor said, his tone turning somber. Rebellion was a grave taboo for the Yihe Gang; anyone taking action would have to think twice before acting.
"No matter who he is, or how cunning he is, if he dares to touch my dad, I will tear him to pieces!" Ding Hanhan gritted her teeth, her voice as cold as ice.
The several grown men present couldn't help but shudder upon hearing this.
Ding Hanhan rolled down the car window and looked outside, then said to Gu Feng and the others, "Let's go find a high place and see just how exciting tonight's show really is."
The group got out of the car, walked around to the back door of a restaurant opposite the hospital, entered the lobby, went straight to the second floor, and found a private room with a window facing the road and a view of the hospital.
After ordering a few dishes, Abu and the others stood guard outside the door, while Gu Feng, the advisor, and Ding Hanhan leaned against the window, observing the situation of the group opposite.
Strangely enough, even after all the food they ordered was served, the group of people huddled in the car didn't make a sound.
From a distance, the car was completely dark inside, as if there was no one there at all.
If we hadn't received prior warning, no one would have guessed that so many people were hiding in cars around the hospital.
Gu Feng watched for a while, then got a little bored, so he simply sat back down at the table and started drinking tea and eating snacks by himself.
Looking at the advisor who was still intently focused on the window, I couldn't help but feel a little annoyed at his impatience—the real show hadn't even started yet! Why did you call me here so early? To have tea and snacks? It would be much more interesting to exchange ideas and skills with Ding Hanhan.
If Miss Ding and her advisor, who were anxiously watching the situation unfold, knew that Master Gu was actually having such thoughts on his mind, they would probably feel quite a bit.
Gu Feng drank five cups of tea and finished six servings of pastries in a row. He even spaced out for a while before he heard the clerk call out in a low voice, "Lan Mei is out!"
Gu Feng quickly went over and looked across the street. He saw nearly ten cars suddenly appearing menacingly from the hospital.
As soon as the car stopped, dozens of burly men jumped down from it, each wielding knives, spears, and clubs, looking fierce and menacing.
The leader pointed towards the hospital, and dozens of people rushed into the hospital together.
"Hmm, something's strange. Isn't that Sha Qiang from the Huilong Society? Why is he here?" the advisor muttered to himself, his tone full of doubt.
"Master, what's wrong?" Gu Feng asked.
"The one leading this is our Yihe Gang's mortal enemy, the leader of the Huilong Society. He and the Boss have a blood feud. But this is strange. Logically speaking, the Huilong Society has always stayed outside the Great Wall, especially after Sha Qiang's brother, Mad Dog, was personally killed by the Boss. No one has dared to set foot on our territory since. Now, not only have they come, but they've also stormed the hospital. Their target is definitely the Boss. But where did they get this information? Didn't I already give the order that anyone who leaks the news should have their hands and feet chopped off?" The advisor's brows furrowed.
"Hehe, Master, why are you so slow to understand? So many people came last night. With so many people talking, it's easy for rumors to leak out, even if the speaker doesn't mean anything by it. Besides, have you forgotten? While it's true that you can be self-sufficient, it's much more time-saving and effortless to use someone else to do your dirty work." Gu Feng said with a faint smile.
"You mean, someone on our side deliberately leaked information to him?" the advisor suddenly realized.
"I'm just guessing. If you want to know the real reason, you'll probably have to ask Comrade Sha Qiang himself." Gu Feng maintained his nonchalant tone.
"Look, someone's coming again!" Ding Hanhan suddenly exclaimed in a low voice.
The advisor and Gu Feng both looked over. Sure enough, another van pulled up from the hospital. As soon as the door opened, several tall, burly men jumped out. They were robust, but not pure Asians—two had blond hair, one had dark skin, and three others looked like Chinese, but upon closer inspection, their features didn't quite match.
As soon as the six people got out of the car, they dispersed in unison, heading towards the hospital in different directions.
Their suits were bulging, and some of them carried long, thin bags that were longer than tennis racket covers.
"Damn it, these guys are all carrying heavy weapons. Looks like tonight's festivities are not only grand, but also quite lively," the advisor muttered under his breath.
"Hehe, otherwise how could I dare say there's going to be a big show tonight?" Gu Feng remained carefree.
"Gu Feng, I'm actually wondering too, how can you be so sure it's tonight, not tomorrow night?" the advisor asked doubtfully.
"There's a saying you've probably heard before—'The longer the night, the more dreams.' After tonight, nobody knows what might happen tomorrow. Maybe Uncle Ding will be transferred, maybe we'll realize what's going on and send more men, maybe the sun will rise in the west. Who knows? Anyway, you have to strike while the iron is hot, and when it comes to killing, you have to strike when the enemy's defenses are weakest and most relaxed. That's when it's easier to succeed. For example, today, less than twenty-four hours have passed since this happened, and a bunch of big shots are gathered in Shenzhen. Who would have thought that at this critical juncture, someone would dare to make a move against the leader?"
"That makes sense." The advisor nodded.
Of the three, Ding Hanhan may have the highest status, but when it comes to strategy and tactics, she is far behind the advisor and Gu Feng.
So whenever the two of them analyzed the situation and exchanged views, she always regarded herself as a student and listened attentively.
She knew in her heart that although these two people were exceptionally wise, they couldn't protect her for a lifetime.
Some things, sooner or later, you have to face alone.
So now, she's like a sponge, desperately absorbing every word the two of them say.
Perhaps Gu Feng and the advisor were aware of this as well, so when they discussed and exchanged opinions, they always tried to explain things in a simple and easy-to-understand way, breaking down the issues so that Ding Hanhan could listen and digest them.
In fact, there was no need for the two of them to be so explicit in many ways. They had already formed a tacit understanding in their subconscious. As the advisor said, they were like a mirror to each other. Looking at themselves in the mirror, what was there to say?
