Sea City, Pink Mansion.

The dimly lit corridor was filled with the scent of incense and cosmetics.

"Ouch... my body hurts so much."

With one hand supporting himself on the mottled wall, Su Shen limped towards the room at the end of the passage.

A few days ago, after entertaining that group of burly foreign guests, he suffered a serious injury and was unable to walk normally for three whole days.

But the steward in the mansion didn't care about the lives of the lower-level slaves at all. After less than half a day of rest, he was dragged out, beaten, and insulted, and forced to continue working and entertaining customers.

And Su Shen really couldn't rest for long.

He also had a mission: to help Song Yunqi record all the dark secrets and evidence within the mansion. To do this, he used the pretext of treating his injuries to sneak into the medical room and torture chamber on the second basement floor to secretly film videos. Several times he was almost exposed and nearly lost his life.

The mansion wouldn't spend much effort treating these people, and the workload was very heavy. Su Shen didn't receive proper treatment and could only tough it out on his own.

Fortunately, Meng Zhaoyuan would come to visit him every night, paying a high price to book his time there, and even bringing medicine to treat his injuries. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have been able to hold on and would have been completely ruined in this man-eating cave.

But Meng Zhaoyuan didn't come tonight.

The man would always appear on time before seven o'clock every evening.

It's past 3 a.m. now, and Su Shen has just seen off the third group of guests for the night.

His body felt like it was about to fall apart, and every bone in his body ached. He knew that Meng Zhaoyuan wouldn't be showing up tonight, and it was unlikely that any new customers would be coming in at this hour.

Pushing open the dilapidated wooden door of the dormitory, the room was pitch black.

Su Shen didn't even bother to turn on the light. He dragged his heavy legs to the bedside, and just as he took off his coat to lie down and rest, he suddenly heard a very faint, shuffling sound of footsteps outside the door.

Immediately following was the hushed conversation of two men:

"The higher-ups have instructed us to dispose of 330 tonight, and to be thorough and leave no trace."

"Understood. Keep it quiet and don't disturb the other guests."

Even through the door, these words clearly penetrated my ears.

Su Shen's face suddenly drained of all color, and his blood seemed to freeze in that instant.

330 is his ID number at Pink Mansion.

He didn't know at what point he slipped up. Was he discovered while secretly gathering information about the mansion, or did his little actions on his person arouse suspicion?

My back was instantly soaked with cold sweat.

He tried to run, but was trapped in the dormitory.

To prevent the attendants from running away, the room's only window was only the size of a basketball, and it was welded shut with heavy iron bars.

The person had already reached the door; Su Shen was almost certainly going to die.

But he didn't want to die.

He also wanted to see the sun outside, to see Song Yunqi, and even more so, to live to see his mother and confirm whether her condition had improved.

Su Shen's teeth chattered as he endured the excruciating pain in his lower body and tiptoed into the dilapidated wardrobe in the corner.

He curled his body into a tight ball, covering his mouth with one hand to prevent himself from crying, while his other hand trembled as he pressed the miniature camera switch on the obsidian earring in his left ear.

"They're here...they're going to kill me..."

Su Shen uttered these words in a very low voice, tears of despair streaming down his face.

Unfortunately, the earrings have a limited battery capacity, and after a period of frequent recording, the battery is about to run out.

As the faint cries for help faded, the invisible indicator light began to flash before plunging into complete darkness.

"Bang!"

The dilapidated dormitory door was kicked open, and two burly men strode in.

The leader, wearing a Bluetooth headset, scanned the empty room in the dim light coming from the corridor.

"He/She is not here."

He then whispered into his earpiece, "Are you sure 330 went back to his room after class tonight?"

A positive reply came from the other end.

The burly man took the black baton hanging from his waist and sneered, "Hiding. Search him."

The two began their search of the cramped room.

I pushed open the bathroom door, kicked away the clutter under the bed, and checked the corner behind the curtains, but found nothing.

In the end, there was only one place in the entire dormitory where they could hide, and their eyes both fell on the wardrobe.

A large, muscular hand landed on the wardrobe handle.

"Creak—"

The cabinet door was suddenly pulled open.

Su Shen, huddled among the piles of clutter, was exposed to the light. He covered his mouth and trembled, his face ashen white.

"Hehe, caught him, here he is."

The burly man reached out and grabbed at Su Shen's body.

"Get away! Don't touch me!!"

In despair, Su Shen unleashed a surprising ferocity, opening his mouth and biting hard at the wrist that the big man had grabbed!

"You filthy bastard, you're asking for it!"

The burly man, writhing in pain, cursed and swung his baton with his other hand, striking Su Shen hard across the face.

A dull thud echoed in the cramped wardrobe, and the young man's handsome face instantly turned red, swollen, and bruised, the skin swelling up at a visible speed.

"ah!!"

Su Shen screamed, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth, and stumbled out of the wardrobe, crashing heavily onto the floor tiles.

Another person stepped forward to grab him, but he did not give up his will to live. He struggled and scratched the other person's face, leaving several bloody marks on his face with his fingertips. Then he desperately crawled towards the door with his hands and feet.

"You still dare to resist?"

Caught off guard, the man who followed spat and stomped on Su Shen's back with such force that he almost broke the young man's spine, the bones making a "crackling" sound, causing excruciating pain.

He then grabbed a tattered bed sheet from the side, roughly twisted it into a knot, and used it to tightly bind Su Shen's arms behind his back.

The other person took a dirty rag and forced it into Su Shen's mouth to prevent him from shouting. Then, they wrapped black tape around the young man's mouth and eyes several times.

My vision was instantly plunged into an endless darkness.

"What should we do?"

The man who had stepped on him wiped the blood from his face. He was furious that he could get injured while doing work. He kicked him several more times before asking the question while panting heavily.

"Just throw it into the incinerator in the backyard?"

The burly man in the lead was also unsure, and snapped irritably, "Burn my ass!"

"We just cleared out some scrapped goods this afternoon. The incinerator was shut down and cleaned up a long time ago. It would take at least an hour to reheat and raise the temperature, which is too time-consuming and would attract attention."

"By the time the fire was finished, it was already dawn."

"What should we do then? We can't just leave this thing out overnight."

"Go through the back door and drown him in the river."

As he spoke, the burly man, still somewhat out of breath from being bitten, kicked the slumped-on Su Shen and said coldly:

"The back wall of the mansion is right next to the canal. If you tie an iron block to it and throw it into the deep water, it won't be long before the fish and shrimp at the bottom of the river eat him up until only bones remain, without anyone noticing."

"Okay, let's do it this way."

Having reached a consensus, the burly man hoisted Su Shen, who was bound like a dumpling, pushed open the back door, and braved the cold wind of the night to walk quickly towards the riverbank behind.

With his eyes and mouth covered, Su Shen could only hear the howling wind and the hurried footsteps beneath his feet.

He was in excruciating pain all over his body, but he had no time to care about that; his mind was filled with the despair of being about to be drowned.

He was thrown heavily into the hold of an old wooden boat that reeked of a fishy stench; the crisp sound of metal chains striking the planks was particularly terrifying in the darkness.

Those were lead weights meant to be hung on his ankles.

Su Shen lay on the damp deck, his teeth chattering.

In the darkness, the boat began to sway slightly with the river current, slowly moving towards the center of the river.
