Using power to force marriage
Chapter 43 Taking advantage of his drunkenness, she demanded a kiss from him.
Her words amused Zhao Jingnian.
"Want to do it again?"
Ruan Fu's cheeks were flushed, like a ripe peach. Her drunken, coquettish manner was so adorable that the man couldn't resist reaching out and pinching her soft cheek.
"Of course we can do it again."
He held the water glass on the bedside table to Ruan Fu's lips, "But you should drink some hot water first."
She held the water glass, nodded obediently, and said, "Okay."
I fed her a few sips; after half a cup of hot water, her stomach felt completely warm.
"Are you still feeling unwell?"
Ruan Fu sat in his lap, and when she heard him ask, she subconsciously put her hand on her stomach, "There's still a little bit left."
But it's already much better than before.
"I'll go get you a hand warmer." Zhao Jingnian was just about to get up.
Ruan Fu scolded and stopped her, saying, "No."
She had already obediently drunk the water, so why didn't he do it again?
With her arms wrapped around Zhao Jingnian's neck, Ruan Fu pouted and said, "Brother, you haven't done it again yet."
After saying that, she tilted her head up and asked him for a kiss.
Her breath carried the sweet scent of wine, and her soft lips lightly touched the corner of his lips.
Her movements were very light, like a feather brushing against his lips.
"I've already drunk water, why aren't you kissing me yet?" she complained softly, her voice nasal.
Zhao Jingnian stared at her expression with a half-smile, quite intrigued.
Every time she gets drunk, she clings to him and wants kisses, just like last time.
Seeing that he did not take any action, Ruan Fu became unhappy.
"Hurry up! Kiss me~"
The hand that had been supporting the back of her neck slowly tightened, the man's expression filled with a deep and unfathomable ambiguity, his voice hoarse and low.
"Xiao Fu, you asked for this yourself."
-
Noon the next day.
After waking up, Ruan Fu slowly opened her eyes, the dizziness of a hangover sweeping over her entire body.
Her head was spinning and she lay on the bed for a while, lost in thought, trying to recall what had happened the night before.
Every time I get drunk, I black out. I can't even remember how I got home; I only have some fragmented and chaotic memories.
She turned over, picked up her phone, and planned to ask Meng Shutan.
The chat window showed more than twenty unread messages, all sent by Meng Shutan.
Shu Tan M: [Bestie, bestie! Are you awake?]
Shu Tan M: [Zhao Jingnian didn't do anything to you last night, did he?]
Shu Tan M: [My God! Your husband is terrifying!]
Shu Tan M: [I'm never drinking with you again.]
……
She scrolled through the chat history one by one, making sharp, popping noises as she spoke.
So, Zhao Jingnian picked her up again last night?
A few images flashed through her mind: she seemed to be playfully asking for a kiss, right?
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!"
Aunt Sun downstairs was terrified when she heard the noise and ran all the way to the bedroom to check on the situation.
"Miss, are you alright?" She asked anxiously as she rushed to the bedside.
On the bed, Ruan Fu, wrapped in the blanket, wailed, "Aunt Sun, I don't want to live anymore!"
Shame, regret, and despair all surged into my heart.
Ruan Fu buried her face in her pillow, her ears burning red, feeling both frustrated and ashamed.
Last night she was adamant about not accepting reconciliation, but then she got drunk and out of control and asked for a kiss. What is that supposed to mean?
This is practically a slap in the face.
Will Zhao Jingnian secretly laugh at her? Will he think she's hypocritical, pretentious, and that her cold war and refusal to reconcile are actually a ploy to get her to back down?
"Zhao Jingnian will definitely laugh at me; I'll be too ashamed to face anyone."
Ruan Fu rolled around on the bed, kicking the blankets restlessly like a sulking kitten.
"Aunt Sun, I'm so embarrassed."
Aunt Sun, hearing her incoherent cries, was bewildered. "Miss, what's wrong with you?"
"Was it really Zhao Jingnian who brought me home last night?"
"Yes."
Aunt Sun smiled and said, "The gentleman is very considerate. He took care of you for half the night last night, and he didn't leave until almost dawn."
"I haven't made up with him yet, how could you let him into my room?"
Ruan Fu was utterly embarrassed, not knowing who to blame. "After Zhao Jingnian brought me back, why didn't you immediately send him away?"
Aunt Sun said helplessly, "But Miss, last night you were the one who clung to the master and wouldn't let him leave no matter what."
She muttered softly, "Really?"
"Really, you kept pestering your husband until midnight."
Ruan Fu was filled with regret; she shouldn't have drunk alcohol last night. She had been in a bad mood after arguing with Zhao Jingnian these past two days, and she thought she could drown her sorrows in alcohol by getting a little tipsy.
Who would have thought that getting drunk would not only fail to dispel his sorrows, but would actually make him even more sorrowful.
A perfectly good attempt to drown one's sorrows in alcohol ended up humiliating oneself.
She thought about it and decided to avoid him for two days. She figured it wouldn't be so awkward if they met again in a few days.
Today is the Dragon Boat Festival. After washing up, Ruan Fu went downstairs and found that Aunt Sun had wrapped zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).
If she and Zhao Jingnian hadn't argued, she would probably be happily making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) for him at Xiyue Manor today and celebrating the festival with him.
Never mind, he's not lucky enough.
Ruan Fu sat in the restaurant eating, asking Aunt Sun to pack her things, as she planned to go back to the Ruan family home that evening to celebrate the holiday with her family.
While I was having lunch, two messages suddenly popped up on my phone.
She opened it to check, and it was sent by Zhao Jingnian.
N: Are you awake?
N: [Remember to eat well.]
Seeing his message of concern, Ruan Fu felt a surge of indescribable emotions.
"By the way, Miss, the master came to bring you wontons and pastries last night, but you weren't home, so you didn't have a chance to eat them."
Aunt Sun handed her the food; the wontons were no longer fresh and couldn't be eaten.
The pastries were alright.
"Did he deliver it last night?"
"Yes, he specially brought it over to ask if you had eaten, but you went to Fan Hua Li, so he went to pick you up himself."
After learning about this, Ruan Fu's lunch didn't taste so good anymore.
Isn't Zhao Jingnian very busy? He's always busy with important matters. When did he start having time to care about such trivial things as whether she's eaten or not, and even personally queue up to buy wontons for her?
-
In the afternoon, she invited several wealthy young women to afternoon tea.
After having afternoon tea, I went to the "Fuai Rescue Station" again.
Someone wanted to donate 100 million yuan to the rescue station, and such a large donation had to be received personally by her, the person in charge.
The donor was Ms. Han, and her boyfriend accompanied her.
Ruan Fu recognized this Ms. Han; they had met some time ago while participating in a wildlife rescue activity together.
After signing the designated donation agreement and completing a series of transfer procedures, Ruan Fu prepared to take them on a tour of the relief station.
Just as she was preparing to take action, she suddenly received a call from the National Animal Protection Association.
Ruan Fu said "I'm sorry" and told them to rest in the lounge for a while before going out to answer the phone.
Over the phone, the association's representative said that Ruan Fu had been recommended and selected by an official organization as a "National Goodwill Ambassador," and the letter of appointment had been sent to her email address. She needed to personally agree to the appointment and attend the ceremony three days later.
It was quite a surprise that, just as her philanthropic work was beginning, she received an appointment letter as a "national-level philanthropic ambassador."
The criteria for this honor are rigorous, requiring multiple rounds of screening and evaluation. Although there are a very few cases where recommendations are made by official organizations or authoritative figures, she is well aware that her current reputation is not yet up to the standard.
Could it be because "Fuai" caused a lot of positive attention and sparked heated discussions online recently?
