Slow to mature after marriage
Chapter 121 So Well-behaved
She stood there, watching helplessly as Bo Yan walked towards her.
As the distance drew closer, his face went from blurry to clear. His silver hair was no longer the distant, youthful exuberance of the photograph, but real and tangible.
The light fell on the strands of hair, each one shimmering with a delicate silver glow. The ends of the hair hung above the brow bone, making the eyes appear exceptionally deep.
"How could you..." Mu Siwan's voice was very soft, "really dye your hair silver."
"Yes." Bo Yan looked at her intently. "Because you like it."
Mu Siwan's heart skipped a beat.
The man extended his hand to her, palm up, his posture as elegant as a gentleman from a bygone era. "May I have the honor of inviting you, madam, to dance?"
Mu Siwan bit her lip and looked at him: "I can't."
"It's just the two of us, we can jump however we want." His voice softened, reassuring. "Don't be nervous."
The carousel was still turning, and the music box melody flowed on. Bo Yan didn't retract his hand; he just waited.
Mu Siwan placed her hand in his palm.
Bo Yan grasped her hand, and with his other hand he put his arm around her waist, leading her to move slowly. Mu Siwan's dance steps were clumsy, and she couldn't keep up with the rhythm. Occasionally, the instep of her foot would bump against his leather shoes, making a soft, muffled sound.
"I'm sorry." She looked up at him.
"It's okay." Bo Yan didn't let go, and spun her around. "Do you remember what I said? There will be many more firsts in the future, and I will be with you every time."
Mu Siwan slowly relaxed. Her body was no longer stiff, and her steps no longer deliberately counted, but glided naturally following his guidance. Her skirt twirled, like a blooming misty blue flower.
The music stopped.
Bo Yan released her hand, took her hand, and they intertwined their fingers.
"Come on, I'll take you out to eat."

The restaurant is located on the top floor of the castle, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the night view of the park.
The lights were dazzling, the Ferris wheel turned slowly, and the roller coaster track traced a smooth arc in the night. There were no other guests; the entire floor was lit up only for the two of them.
The waiters quietly served appetizers, main courses, and desserts, each step perfectly executed. As Mu Siwan ate her steak, she would occasionally glance up and meet the man's earnest gaze.
Feeling a little hot, Mu Siwan quickly looked away.
After finishing the last bite of dessert, the waiter silently cleared away the cutlery. Only a glass of water and a document that Bo Yan had taken out at some point remained on the table.
Brand new, Mu Siwan glanced at it quickly.
It looks like... a property division agreement?
She looked up at him, her voice carrying a hint of nervousness that she herself was unaware of.
"Bo Yan, do you want a divorce?"
Bo Yan was initially nervous—his palms were sweating, and his heart was pounding faster than at any moment during the negotiations. But upon hearing those words, he almost lost his composure.
"...What?"
"You want to break those three principles?" Mu Siwan's voice lowered, "Do you want a divorce?"
Bo Yan stared at her, a helpless smile on his face.
"What strange code was input that led your little human-machine brain to output such a conclusion?"
He gently pushed the document towards her with his fingertips.
"I don't mean to break the three principles of marriage. I've already broken them." He paused for a moment. "I've fallen in love with you a long time ago, I've wanted to have feelings for you for a long time, Mu Siwan. Haven't you realized it yet?"
Mu Siwan stood there, stunned.
She actually had a vague feeling about it.
But when I heard him break the silence, a strange feeling welled up inside me, along with a sense of bewilderment.
Mu Siwan was somewhat confused about what this strange emotion was.
"That...that's not right," she said in a low voice after a long while.
This is against procedure. It should not have happened.
"Yes, this is not right." Bo Yan did not refute, his voice was very soft, and his face was honest. "I was wrong to be arrogant and put forward the three principles for marriage to you at the beginning, I was wrong to leave you in the country for three years without caring about you, and now I am wrong to break the principles without permission."
He took a deep breath.
"So now, I'm trying to make up for my mistakes. Here's a brand new prenuptial agreement, please take a look, okay?"
Mu Siwan lowered her eyes and opened the document.
The terms were densely written, and she could understand the legal terminology—real estate, equity, trust funds, insurance beneficiaries… almost everything that could be transferred, shared, or owned was listed in her name. This was not an equal contract; it was a one-sided, unreserved delivery.
She closed the file, handed it back, and shook her head.
"You really don't need to do this..."
Bo Yan stared at her, his Adam's apple bobbing, his voice slightly hoarse.
"So, because I broke my principles, you want a divorce?"
Mu Siwan is in a state of confusion right now.
Logically, since Bo Yan unilaterally broke the three principles they agreed upon before marriage, she should file for divorce. Contracts that do not comply with procedures should be terminated.
But—she didn't want a divorce. This answer was clearer in her heart than any logic.
"How about we separate and calm down for a bit?" She tried to find a compromise. "What if this is just a passing fancy, maybe just a dopamine rush..."
"Mu Siwan," Bo Yan interrupted her, "I am a healthy adult, and dopamine secretion is not enough to make me revise such an agreement."
He bowed, looked her straight in the eye, his gaze resolute.
"I'm telling you honestly today that I like you, not because I want an answer like 'you like me too'. I understand that you have concerns and can't give me a response for the time being."
You may test me, examine me, doubt me, and question my sincerity—until you truly find the answer in your heart.
He pushed the document back to him.
"But as your husband, I want to give you everything I have as a source of confidence."
"This agreement is my pledge of allegiance. It's all the resources I can offer right now, in exchange for a chance to start over with you. Is that alright?"
When Mu Siwan met his deep, serious gaze, her brain completely shut down.
Her last shred of reason was still struggling: "But I still can't accept this agreement..."
"So you still want a divorce?" A deliberately hurt look appeared in the man's eyes.
Mu Siwan shook her head blankly.
Divorce is absolutely out of the question.
"Then sign this agreement." His voice lowered, almost coaxing.
Mu Siwan stared at the document for a few seconds, took a deep breath, and picked up the pen as if possessed.
Bo Yan watched her finish the last stroke of the pen, then let out a silent sigh of relief. He carefully put the agreement away, his expression finally relaxing.
"Then let's make a promise." He reached out and tucked a stray strand of hair that was falling beside Mu Siwan's face behind her ear. "From now on, neither of us will mention those three principles again, okay?"
Those three principles only serve as a reminder of how foolish he was in the past.
Mu Siwan continued to nod blankly.
Bo Yan smiled and gently rubbed her hair with his palm.
"Good girl, my wife."
