Slow to mature after marriage
Chapter 104 Support
It was already late at night when I left the police station.
Wang Jin and the others waited outside. When they saw the two of them come out, they keenly sensed that something was wrong. The wife had a stern face, and although the husband was expressionless, the corners of his mouth were pressed down, clearly indicating that he was also in a bad mood.
He opened the back door: "Sir, Madam, please get in."
Mu Siwan didn't look at him, but walked straight to the passenger side and opened the car door.
"I'll sit in the front."
Bo Yan stared at the back of her head, touched the roof of his mouth with the tip of his tongue, and said nothing. He strode over, grabbed her wrist, and without a word, shoved her into the back seat, then got in himself and closed the door.
Wang Jin silently walked back to the driver's seat, started the engine, paused his finger on a certain button for a moment, and then decisively raised the partition.
The back seat becomes a closed space.
The light from the streetlights slid in through the car window, brushing across their faces in quick succession. Mu Siwan turned her head to look out the window, her back to Bo Yan, her whole body tense like a bowstring.
Bo Yan leaned back in his seat, turned his head to look at the stubborn back of her head, and suddenly smiled.
I laughed out of anger.
"What are you angry about? Hmm?" The man reached out, pinched her chin, and turned her face around. "I haven't even gotten angry yet, Mu Siwan, after watching you chat with another man for so long."
Mu Siwan was forced to meet his gaze. Her eyes did not dart away, but her lips were pressed tightly together.
She's very upset right now.
She hadn't felt this way in a long time. Anxiety, like something was stuck in her chest, unable to rise or fall. She wasn't used to this. She was used to calmness, judgment, and conclusions—not this sticky, inexplicable restlessness.
"I'm just angry." Mu Siwan glanced at him coldly. "If you've got the guts, break two of my ribs too."
Bo Yan was glared at by her, but instead of being angry, he found it amusing and delightful.
Where did this little robot come from? Even when it's angry, it's so pretty and cute. He leaned down to kiss it.
Mu Siwan turned her head away, dodging the kiss, but Bo Yan only managed to kiss the corner of her lips: "I'm angry, don't kiss me."
Seeing her like this, Bo Yan was incredibly fond of her and patiently asked, "Then you have to tell me why you're angry so I can coax you."
"Because I hit your adoptive father without asking?" he guessed.
"no."
Mu Siwan didn't care why Bo Yan hit Mu Cheng. That man deserved to die.
only--
"Meng Qing said that if Mu Cheng comes to his senses and holds you accountable, you could very well end up in jail."
"You care about me?" The tone became even more cheerful.
Mu Siwan didn't understand why Bo Yan was focusing on this point, so she repeated, "Meng Qing said you might go to jail."
Unhappy that Mu Siwan kept mentioning Meng Qing, Bo Yan scoffed, "You're listening to his bragging. Mu Cheng doesn't have time to hold me accountable right now."
Mu Siwan frowned at him: "What exactly do you want?"
Bo Yan casually pinched her earlobe: "I want to kill him. Baby, will you support me?"
Mu Siwan looked up and met the man's half-serious, half-fake gaze, and froze.
"I don't remember you having any deep-seated hatred towards him."
"Yes, it's huge." Bo Yan leaned down, grabbed her hand, placed it on his chest, and stared straight at her. "It makes my heart ache with anger."
He asked softly again, "Will you support me?"
The smooth light from the streetlights streamed in through the car window, falling on his profile. At the boundary between light and shadow, his face was unbelievably beautiful, like a captivating poppy—you know it's poisonous, yet you still want to get closer.
Of course, killing is wrong.
But as if by some strange twist of fate, Mu Siwan nodded.
"Yes, I can help you dismember the body."
Mu Siwan spoke to him with unusual seriousness.
She will always stand unconditionally on her husband's side.
Bo Yan stared at her with a complicated expression, his eyes softening and becoming quiet.
Finally, he patted her head lightly.
"Fool, it hasn't come to that point. Murder is illegal."
-
On the other side, at the hospital.
They smashed everything they could in the ward.
Water glasses, vases, and medicine bottles on the bedside table—shards were scattered all over the floor. Mu Cheng leaned against the hospital bed, his ribs wrapped in bandages, his face bruised and purple, and gauze on the bridge of his nose. He was breathing heavily, his gaze fixed on the ceiling with a sinister look.
"It must be that bitch Mu Siwan." He squeezed out the words through clenched teeth, "I wonder what she whispered in Bo Yan's ear this time."
He closed his eyes, and his breathing gradually calmed down.
We mustn't panic. The more chaotic things get, the more passive we become.
He started thinking. The media had already been notified; the news of "Yanhe International CEO violently assaulting his father-in-law" would be out first thing tomorrow morning. Even with the Bo family's absolute power, they couldn't silence everyone. Once the injury assessment report was released, he could use it to negotiate with Bo Yan.
Bo Yan, a mere child, is still too young.
Mu Cheng opened his eyes, his lips twitching slightly, which aggravated the injury on his face, causing him to wince in pain. But his mood, strangely, calmed down.
-
outside the ward.
Meng Wan and Xu Ruolin sat side by side on a bench in the corridor.
The sound of things being smashed inside stopped. Meng Wan, holding Xu Ruolin's hand, glanced towards the ward with concern.
"Mom, should we go in and check on him? Dad seems a bit unsettled."
Xu Ruolin, her face pale, shook her head in fear and gripped her wrist tightly.
"No need. Your dad is in a bad mood right now, don't go over there, you absolutely mustn't go over there."
She paused, her voice beginning to tremble: "It's revenge. Mu Siwan has started hiring people to take revenge on us."
Meng Wan was stunned for a moment.
"What revenge...?"
She suddenly remembered what Meng Qing had said to her in the alley—what your biological parents did to Mu Siwan was tantamount to imprisonment, and to put it more seriously, it could be a criminal offense.
Her expression slowly changed.
"Mom," her voice trailed off, "you really... have effectively imprisoned Mu Siwan?"
Xu Ruolin suddenly turned her head, her eyes reddening and her lips trembling.
"That wasn't imprisonment!" Her voice sharpened, then immediately subsided, as if afraid of being heard by those in the hallway. "You got lost when you were little, and I searched for you for six months, almost not surviving. I was scared, I was afraid she'd get lost too, so your father and I didn't let her go out—was that preventing her from leaving? That was protection!"
"Besides," Xu Ruolin's voice softened, trembling with tears, "your father and I have provided her with the best food and drink. We've spoiled her in every way. Without us, she would have starved to death in the orphanage long ago. She shouldn't... she shouldn't have treated the Mu family like this."
Looking at her mother's pale, tearful face, Meng Wan felt a sudden, inexplicable chill creep into her heart.
She gently shook her head: "No, what you're doing is wrong..."
Since being found, Mu Cheng and Xu Ruolin have been very kind to her. So kind that she subconsciously overlooks one fact—why Mu Sigui and Mu Siwan are so resistant to returning to the Mu family.
If the Mu family is really that good.
Meng Wan suddenly looked up, grabbed Xu Ruolin's wrist, and pushed up her long sleeves.
Xu Ruolin cried out in surprise and tried to pull her hand back, but it was too late.
On his arm, several new and old scars lay scattered, varying in depth, like a dried-up riverbed.
Meng Wan stared intently at the scars, her voice lowered, uttering each word carefully.
"It's not just a form of imprisonment. Mu Cheng also has violent tendencies, doesn't he?"
Xu Ruolin's tears were on her face, her lips were trembling, and she couldn't utter a single word.
Damn it.
Meng Wan felt that this world was truly absurd.
A violent father, a cowardly mother, and a cold-hearted younger brother.
What kind of family did she return to?
