Upon entering the room, Baihu stood quietly at the door watching the two examine Tang Junyao. The doctor first checked her temperature, which read, "40.5 degrees Celsius."

The temperature was very high, and Tang Junyao was talking in her sleep, muttering something unintelligible. Baihu, standing anxiously at the door, asked, "How is she?"

The doctor answered truthfully and even gave advice: "This lady's temperature is too high, she needs an IV drip. After I insert the needle, I'll have the nurse watch over her. We're all men, so it's inconvenient for us to be in the room. Besides, she can't talk, so she won't be disturbed."

Baihu thought about it and realized it made sense. He could see from the door that the young lady was very uncomfortable, with her brows constantly furrowed. If he needed to wipe her body or something, he, as a man, really couldn't do it. If he did, his hands would probably be ruined tomorrow. "Then please have a seat on the sofa in the living room for a while, and wait for our young lady's fever to subside before you leave."

The doctor nodded in agreement, "Okay, I'll start the IV drip for her now." While doing so, he instructed the mute nurse, "You stay in the room for a while and don't come out. Wipe her arms and forehead to help lower her temperature and make her more comfortable; her temperature is too high."

The tall nurse listened attentively and nodded. Seeing that there was nothing wrong, Baihu followed the doctor who had given him the injection and left the room, closing the door behind him. The quiet room was now empty except for Tang Junyao and the nurse.

The White Tiger closing the door actually meant that it was better to close the door in case he needed to wipe his body.

The woman on the bed sometimes frowned, sometimes turned her head, and it was impossible to hear what she was saying. Her cheeks were flushed from the fever, as if she had applied blush. She didn't look comfortable. The nurse went into the bathroom, filled a basin with hot water, soaked a towel, and gently wiped her forehead. Her movements were gentle, and her eyes were full of caution, as if she was afraid of breaking some precious porcelain bowl.

Tang Junyao's body was burning hot. She stretched out her fair arm to try to cool down. The nurse gently took her small hand, held it tightly, and wiped it from her arm to her palm. Her eyes were fixed on the woman on the bed. After wiping her arm, the nurse put her arm back under the covers and tucked her in.

About half an hour later, probably after the saline solution took effect, the flush on her cheeks faded a little, and her brows relaxed a bit. She closed her eyes and mumbled softly, but it was impossible to hear what she was saying.

The nurse leaned closer, reached out to tidy up the stray hairs on her face, rubbed her furrowed brows, and asked softly, "What do you need?"

Tang Junyao, who was running a fever, found the voice strange and familiar, but her mind was too foggy to see the person in front of her clearly. With great effort, she half-closed her eyes and repeated, "Water."

The nurse was about to go to the kitchen to get some water when she saw a thermos on the bedside table as soon as she got up.

He quickly grabbed a cup, poured a glass, and placed it on the bedside table. Then, he sat on the edge of the bed and gently lifted Tang Junyao's upper body, pulling her against his body. He carefully tidied the stray hairs on her forehead once more, and then used his other hand to feed her water. His movements were as gentle as could be, but Tang Junyao, who was not fully conscious, drank half of it and spilled the other half. She didn't drink much water and even wet the blanket a little.

The nurse was a little anxious. She gently put her down, took out a tissue from the side and wiped the corners of her lips clean. She also wiped the water stains off the blanket. After finishing everything, she turned her gaze back to her face and found that her lips were still a little dry. She got up and opened the bedside table drawer to look for a straw, but found none. She stared at her lips for a while and made a decision.

He got up and locked the bedroom door. The white tiger in the living room heard the door lock and instinctively stood up to check on the master bedroom. The middle-aged doctor, sitting on the sofa, calmly said, "Don't be nervous. Even if we wanted to do something, we couldn't get out of this door. My apprentice must be helping your young lady to cool down her fever. If the door wasn't locked, would you or I be embarrassed if we suddenly walked in? At least she's a woman."

Upon hearing this, Baihu hesitated for a moment before sitting down again, but his eyes remained fixed on the master bedroom.

Inside the room, the nurse picked up a glass of water, took a small sip, then sat on the bed, leaned close to Tang Junyao, and instantly her cool lips pressed against her burning lips. She pried open Tang Junyao's teeth, and realizing there was water, Tang Junyao opened her mouth, letting a little water slip into her mouth. After she finished drinking, the nurse took another sip, leaned down again, and sealed her lips with hers, letting the water enter Tang Junyao's mouth once more. This was repeated five or six times until the drinking speed slowed down, at which point she stopped feeding her water.

The nurse took out another tissue to wipe the water stains from the corners of her lips, gently stroking her cheek with her large hand, her eyes filled with reluctance, apology, and regret.

Finally, he slowly uttered a few words, "I'm sorry."

The next morning, Tang Junyao slowly woke up. The curtains weren't fully drawn, and light streamed in through the gaps. She climbed into bed, feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep, and stretched, "Hmm..."

She has always been in good health and has a good recovery ability. As soon as she raised her hand, she noticed needle marks on the back of her right hand. Did she get an injection?

She sat up and pulled the blanket up tighter. She vaguely remembered calling Baihu last night when she had a fever. The doctor probably gave her an injection while she was delirious. As she was thinking, a woman wearing a mask appeared in her mind. Last night, there seemed to be another woman feeding her water and saying something like "I'm sorry" in her ear. Could it be a hallucination?

But the female doctor's voice...

A bizarre idea was rejected by myself as soon as it came out.

She thinks she's been a little sick lately? How could she have such a thought?

She stretched again, then got up to get clothes from the closet, put on a comfortable dress, and left the room. "Auntie, is Lele still sleeping?"

Aunt Zhang took a close look at Tang Junyao's face and said, "Hmm, much better." "Afraid of waking you up, Aunt Wu took you downstairs for a walk. Why didn't you sleep a little longer?"

"I'm all better now, but I can't fall asleep even if I lie down." Besides, she doesn't have the habit of sleeping in late.

Aunt Zhang started nagging, "Last night, thanks to Mr. Bai for calling a doctor for you in time. Your fever was almost 40 degrees. I was terrified when I heard this morning. You can't be so careless in the future. Mr. Bai was really responsible. He didn't leave until 5:30 in the morning. He only let the doctor go back after you had a fever. Those two doctors were kept up all night by Mr. Bai. I saw the older doctor stagger a few times when he left."

Tang Junyao hadn't expected things to turn out this way. The vague image of the female doctor reappeared in her mind, and she felt a little confused. "Auntie, two doctors came last night, was there another woman among them?"

Aunt Zhang got up very early in the morning. She's getting old and doesn't sleep much, so she got up early to cook porridge. "Yes, there's also a very tall female doctor. I estimate she's about 180 cm tall, much taller than Mr. Bai. She's also quite robust. Mr. Bai thoughtfully found a female doctor to take care of you. She didn't even wake up us two old bones. But Mr. Bai said that this female doctor is mute, which is a pity."

Aunt Zhang was sympathizing with the mute nurse, but Tang Junyao didn't hear what she said after that; she was thinking about something.

Is that female doctor mute? But I think I heard her apologize last night. Could it be that she was delirious from a high fever?

On second thought, Tang Junyao felt that Aunt Zhang shouldn't be unable to distinguish between men and women. She said that a woman should be a woman, and Baihu wasn't a liar. It seemed that she had been overthinking things. How could such a thing happen to him? Only a madman would do that. She was really delirious.

Su Xue spent the whole night thinking about what to say to her husband this morning. She sat at the dining table, absentmindedly feeding Xiao Caomei, and checking her mother's face from time to time.

She had originally planned to confess last night, but she lacked the courage and gave up.

Noticing the intense gaze, Su's mother stared at Su Xue and asked, "What are you doing? You were looking at your dad when he was here, and now that he's gone to the company, you're looking at me. Just say what you want to say, don't act like you're constipated."

Su Xue straightened her back, shouldered her shoulders, and looked ready to die, mentally preparing herself for the worst. "Mom, I have something to tell you... you can't hit me."

Su's mother rolled her eyes at her, peeled a quail egg for Little Strawberry, and said, "Even if you commit murder and arson, I won't hit you. It depends on the seriousness of the matter."

One sentence immediately crushed the courage that had just been mustered.

Su's mother glanced at her obviously deflated daughter, her tone softening slightly, wanting to know what she wanted to say so early in the morning. "Go ahead and say it, I promise I won't hit you."

Having received a pardon, Su Xue closed her eyes and said, "Yueyue is my daughter." Then she half-opened her eyes to watch her mother's reaction.

After waiting for a while without any response from Su's mother, Su Xue spoke again, "I said Yueyue is my daughter."

Su's mother said impatiently, "I know, I've always called you Mom. Do you have anything else to say? Why didn't Yao Yao come to bring Yue Yue today?"

They used to come and take Yueyue home, but today Su's mother was a little surprised that they hadn't come yet at this hour.

Su Xue was speechless. It seemed her mother hadn't understood her. "I said Yueyue is my biological daughter, your granddaughter, whom I gave birth to," she shouted, mustering her courage.

As soon as she finished speaking, countless crows flew overhead... and Su's mother was stunned.

Time passed slowly, and Little Strawberry continued eating her egg. Su Xue looked nervously at her mother. The two women locked eyes, and Su's mother snapped out of her daze and said, "Say it again."

Su Xue lowered her head, her gaze unfocused, and her voice was soft as she said, "Yueyue is my child."
