After leaving the Lu family, Lu Jinnan went straight to the Lu family home, driving much faster than usual, because he really wanted to see how much the child his father had mentioned resembled him.

The journey that usually takes 40 minutes was reduced to about 20 minutes by him. He parked the car haphazardly in front of the yard, the car body was crooked, and he had already gotten out of the car.

With a click, he opened the door and saw Su Xue's mother and his own mother chatting warmly on the sofa. His mother no longer showed any signs of sadness.

Lu's mother was puzzled; hadn't her son said he was going to the company? Why was he home at this hour? "Didn't you go to the company? Why are you back? Where's your father?"

Lu Jinnan did not answer, his gaze fixed on the little girl playing by the sofa. The little girl was wearing a princess dress, with two little braids and a pink bow hair clip on her head.

Lu Jinnan's gaze was fixed on her face. He didn't see any resemblance to himself. How could he see any resemblance? Besides, he didn't even know what he looked like when he was a child.

She thought her father was making a fuss over nothing, but since her biological father wanted a paternity test, she had to do it. She would then show the results to her mother and father, and keep trying to find her illegitimate child.

Lu's mother noticed where her son was looking and followed his gaze, finding him staring at Little Strawberry. She smiled and explained, "Do you think this little girl is especially pretty? If you think she's pretty, then work harder and don't make me envious."

Lu Jinnan snapped out of his reverie, strode to the sofa, and politely greeted Su's mother, "Hello, Auntie, this child is..."

Su's mother took a liking to Lu Jinnan at first sight. He was handsome and perfectly matched her son-in-law's aesthetic. She smiled warmly and said, "This child is Xiaoxue's goddaughter. She is her best friend's child. I will take care of her for a while."

Lu Jinnan was searching for the answer in his heart. Best friend? But he was not sure if Su Xue had any other best friends besides her sister-in-law.

She responded politely, "That auntie is so kind. There aren't many kind people like you these days."

Mrs. Su was overjoyed by the praise and became quite talkative. "Oh, not at all. I just had nothing better to do, so it was nice to lend a hand to the young people. Besides, this child is especially adorable. Little Strawberry, call him uncle."

Little Strawberry had been peeking cautiously since Lu Jinnan came in, but after looking at Su's mother for a while, she still didn't call out and quietly continued playing with her toys with her head down.

Su's mother was a little embarrassed. This child was usually very good at greeting people, so what was wrong with him today? He just wouldn't greet anyone.

Lu's mother smiled and tried to smooth things over, "Look at the children, they can't stand you like this. When your father just passed away, Yueyue even called him Grandpa, but not you. You should reflect on why."

Lu Jinnan's inner thoughts were quite complex. It turned out that the old man had insisted on making him rush back for a paternity test because the little girl called him "Grandpa," which made him so happy. What was he thinking? Just because the little girl called him "Grandpa," he could become her granddaughter? He must be obsessed with wanting a granddaughter.

On the surface, she remained as enthusiastic as ever, and her good-natured mother teased her, "I'm not in a hurry, don't worry, you'll definitely have a granddaughter, right, Auntie?"

Su's mother thought Lu Jinnan was talking about his relationship with Su Xue, so she said, "Yes, we shouldn't worry too much about the children. They must have their own plans." Lu Jinnan didn't expose the matter, leaving it vague, as everyone was thinking about things according to their own ideas.

He stared at the little guy for a while, genuinely thinking he was quite adorable. He wasn't sure if he looked like himself, but then thought it would be a good idea to take him back to his room and find a photo album to compare. "Little friend, can Uncle play with you?"

Little Strawberry was stunned and didn't say anything, but just nodded slightly in agreement.

Lu Jinnan had his own little scheme in mind, wanting to avoid his mother and Su's mother. "Auntie, it's been so long since we last met. I'll take the kids to my room to play for a while, and you can chat as much as you like."

Lu's mother looked at her son with suspicion. What was wrong with him? He rushed back from the company just to take care of the child. "Don't you need to go to the company?"

Lu Jinnan answered without batting an eye, "Well, Dad said he can't leave the company for even a minute, and the office suits him better, so he told me I don't need to go today."

Seeing that Lu's mother was in a much better mood, Su's mother also felt relieved. "Stop talking about Jinnan all the time. He's such a big kid now."

He didn't realize at all that he was constantly teasing Su Xue at home.

Lu's mother didn't say anything more about disliking her son, but simply reminded him, "Keep an eye on her and make sure Yueyue doesn't get hurt."

"Okay." After saying that, he took Little Strawberry upstairs. They had only gone halfway when Lu's mother started scolding, "Lu Jinnan, do you have a brain? You made Yueyue walk up those high stairs by herself. Can't you carry her if you don't have hands?"

Upon hearing the sound, Su's mother turned towards the stairs and indeed saw Little Strawberry struggling to lift her short legs. Sure enough, men are not suitable for taking care of children; they can exhaust you to death.

Lu Jinnan stopped in his tracks. He didn't think it was inappropriate. Shouldn't such a big child be walking on his own? Taking more steps would help him grow taller. But because of the two professionals' gazes, he slowly squatted down and clumsily picked up Little Strawberry.

The movements were a bit clumsy; first the right hand was extended, then the left, and it was unclear which hand to use first to hug.

Looking at her bewildered son, Lu's mother sighed and patiently instructed, "One hand on top, one hand on the bottom, you don't need to hold on too tightly."

Lu Jinnan followed his mother's movements and picked up Little Strawberry.

Watching the two figures, one big and one small, walk into the room, Lu's mother complained, "They're so big but they don't act like adults at all. Your Xiaoxue is going to be so angry in the future."

Su's mother smiled happily, "My Xiaoxue is about the same, except that she has helped her good friend with her studies in the past few years, so she knows a lot more now."

Lu Jinnan placed Little Strawberry on his bed. "Little friend, wait for me. Uncle will find something and come over to play with you right away."

Lu Jinnan opened the drawer, took out his photo album, flipped to a photo of someone who was about the same age as Xiaocaomei, glanced at the photo, then looked up and carefully examined Xiaocaomei. Damn, she does look a bit like her.

My heart was pounding, my hands were shaking as I closed the photo album and hid it away.

Turning to the little strawberry, he said, "Little friend, shall we play a game of 'I ask, you answer'?"

Little Strawberry didn't understand what game this uncle wanted to play. She blinked her big, bright eyes and nodded.

Lu Jinnan didn't care whether she understood or not; he just assumed she did. "If Uncle asks a question and you answer it correctly, Uncle will give you something delicious."

Little Strawberry continued to nod, seemingly understanding but not quite.

Lu Jinnan was a little nervous. He was surprised that a toddler was getting nervous when he asked her, "Who is your mother?" He coaxed her to answer in what he thought was the gentlest tone possible.

Lu Jinnan was anxiously waiting for the answer. Little Strawberry rolled her eyes and called out in a childish voice, "Yaoyao." For some reason, Lu Jinnan didn't feel relieved after getting the answer; instead, he felt a little disappointed.

He felt he must be going crazy.

Then I thought of Yao Yao, isn't that my sister-in-law? But this child doesn't look like my sister-in-law at all, he looks a lot like him when he was a child.

But a child shouldn't mistake his mother; he's called her that since he was little. This reassured him that the child really wasn't his.

The next second, Lu Jinnan, with his remarkably good composure, started plotting in his mind. If it was his sister-in-law's, that would be interesting. This Young Master Ji was still pursuing his wife. Wanting to confirm something more, he asked, "Is your mother Tang Junyao?"

Little Strawberry nodded, strictly adhering to the game rules.

Having received the answer, Lu Jinnan was certain that the child was his sister-in-law's. He thought his father was just making trouble for no reason, but the child was really well-behaved and lovable. He pulled the little strawberry onto his lap and gently tugged at a few strands of her hair.

"Uncle saw something dirty in your hair, I'll remove it for you. Sit on the bed and play for a while, I'll get you something to eat."

As he put the hair into the bag, he gave the little guy his favorite corn chips.

"Do you like it? This is so delicious! It's Uncle's favorite potato chips. I'm sharing it with you now, we're good friends now." He ruffled the little guy's hair again.

Little Strawberry politely climbed off the bed, grabbed her potato chips, and prepared to go downstairs. "Thank you."

"You little rascal, you haven't spoken to me since I didn't give you any food. Are you going downstairs?"

"Hmm." Little Strawberry remembered that her mother had said that she couldn't eat in the room, especially in bed, because it would cause little bugs to grow, but she didn't know how to express it due to her limited vocabulary, so she could only say to go downstairs.

Lu Jinnan found the little girl to be getting cuter and cuter, and he liked her no matter how he looked at her. His sister-in-law had done a good job raising her; she was clearly not Su Xue's child. Could that woman raise such a thoughtful child?

No is definitely not an option, but there's no other way but to do a paternity test to avoid being scolded by my father.
