Before he died, my grandfather forced me to marry the richest man in the capital.
Chapter 134 Ji Hancheng's Retort
Unaware that she had already been given the title of girlfriend, Su Xue came to the 13th floor early this morning to find her best friend.
I had just stepped out of the elevator when I heard a loud commotion. My first thought was that it was a medical dispute, but this building is full of wealthy and influential people, so why would there be a medical dispute?
Out of curiosity, I went to check out the ward and saw a woman dressed in gold and silver pointing at someone and yelling, "You're the one who told my wife not to abort the child! What kind of doctor are you? What business is it of yours to interfere in our family affairs?"
The main characters were surrounded by nurses and caregivers, so they couldn't see who the middle-aged woman was yelling at.
Tang Junyao put her hands in her pockets, not intending to argue with this unreasonable family member, and chose to ignore her.
This ignited the woman's urge to curse. She felt that the doctor was afraid of her. "Now you dare not say anything, but how could you have been so talkative back then? How could you have been so talkative when you were persuading my wife to keep the baby? Don't you know that our family wants a grandson? Let me tell you, the same way you persuaded my wife to keep the baby, you should persuade her to abort the baby. Our family doesn't want girls."
Tang Junyao felt that this person's values had reached their limit, and talking to her was like casting pearls before swine. There was no need to waste her breath, so she ignored her and walked away.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the middle-aged woman saw her about to leave, she stepped forward, grabbed her arm forcefully, and pulled her back. Tang Junyao's patience had reached its limit, but this was a doctor's place, and if she spoke, things would be twisted. She endured it again and again, and forcefully shook off the woman.
This enraged her, and she became a shrew, rolling up her sleeves and preparing to fight. With a heavy push, the sudden force caused Tang Junyao to stagger backward a few steps. Just as she was about to crash into the wall, a large, broad hand caught her slender waist.
Her expression was grim, as she had reached her limit. She looked up and was met with a face contorted with malice. She quickly stepped forward and politely said, "Thank you."
Su Xue squeezed into the crowd and understood what was going on, except that the woman with her sleeves rolled up was glaring in the direction of her best friend.
Su Xue was a little worried, "What's going on? Why does this person look at you like you're an enemy? Did you offend her?"
Tang Junyao didn't show much expression, suppressing her emotions. "I was just bored. She wouldn't let me leave, insisting that I had cut off her family's lineage."
Su Xue was speechless upon hearing this. Sure enough, no matter how much you talk to someone who's not normal, it's useless. She doesn't scold or beat her own son for cheating, but her daughter-in-law comes to cause trouble as soon as she's recovered a little from surgery.
The middle-aged woman persisted, saying, "I'm going to sue you. You're Dr. Tang, right? Let me tell you, I won't let you get away with this."
Ji Hancheng's face darkened further, and he licked his teeth. Xu Mingkai knew from this gesture that he was angry. He had originally planned to handle it, but then thought it best to let Young Master Ji deal with it.
The woman was still cursing when a cold, deep voice interrupted her, "Xu Mingkai, call the hospital director here. These days, anyone and everything can get into the Imperial Capital Hospital. If he can't manage things, he should resign as soon as possible."
Su Xue then noticed Ji Hancheng standing at the door, and like her best friend, she put her hands in her pockets and leaned closer, asking, "Why did he come out?"
Tang Junyao didn't know either, "Maybe the sound was too loud and disturbed people."
Su Xue nodded in agreement. Neither of them were surprised that his deep voice had led the dean to resign, because he truly had the ability to do so.
The others stiffened; how many people could actually get rid of the dean? Probably only a handful in the capital.
The middle-aged woman was still cursing and swearing, pointing her finger at Ji Hancheng and yelling, "Who are you? You're calling me a dog! Don't think you can help people just because you have a few dollars. Let me tell you, this doctor has questionable medical ethics."
Ji Hancheng pursed his lips. "I think you have something wrong with your brain. I don't mind paying to fix it for you."
Su Xue chuckled. Ji Hancheng really knew how to roast people.
Tang Junyao never expected that someone like Ji Hancheng would argue with a woman in public; it was quite a spectacle, to say the least.
The middle-aged woman wasn't stupid; as soon as she heard Ji Hancheng call her mentally ill, she retorted, "You're the one who's mentally ill! Your whole family is mentally ill!"
Xu Mingkai, listening from the side, felt a chill run down his spine and his brow furrowed. Aside from the young mistress, probably no one else would call Young Master Ji mentally ill. He prayed for the woman for three seconds.
Ji Hancheng wasn't angry; instead, he laughed, a wicked smile on his face. "You have backbone."
Su Xue shivered at the cold aura emanating from Ji Hancheng and whispered to Tang Junyao, "This man is hopeless. Sigh, you can't control a person's self-destructive tendencies, no matter what you do."
Upon receiving a signal, Xu Mingkai walked to the side and made a phone call to the dean, and then made a phone call to Han Yue to check the person's information.
A short while later, the dean, having received the message, arrived belatedly, wiping away cold sweat, "Master Ji... Master Ji."
Ji Hancheng, his face full of disdain, leaned against the doorframe, looking down at the dean with a haughty air. "Quite busy?"
The dean was sweating profusely, his back stiff. He had worked so hard to get his position, and if he offended this powerful figure, he might lose it. "No... no rush, Master Ji, please give your orders."
Master Ji? This sent a chill down the spines of the other doctors present. Could it be that Master Ji from the capital? He's so handsome in person!
The nurses wanted to take photos but didn't dare; their inner urges were ultimately suppressed by reason.
"Now even dogs are allowed into hospitals in the capital. Shouldn't you reflect on your actions? A dog biting medical staff in broad daylight."
Everyone present heard this clearly: the dog was a middle-aged woman, and this was blatantly helping Tang Junyao.
Su Xue was now eager to see how Ji Hancheng would help her best friend deal with this oddball.
The hospital director lowered his head. "How could that be? Dogs and animals are not allowed in our hospital. That's something we can guarantee."
The middle-aged woman was intimidated by Ji Hancheng's aura. It must be difficult for someone to bow and nod even to the dean. However, she couldn't lose her backbone. She stood up for herself and said, "So what if he has a few stinking coins? Who are you calling a dog?"
The dean frowned, as if things weren't chaotic enough already. "Shut up."
Just then, a middle-aged man rushed into the crowd and slapped the woman across the face, saying, "Are you fucking asking for it?" He had received a call from Xu Mingkai early in the morning, which scared him so much that he ran several red lights.
Within minutes of hanging up the phone, all the partners said they wanted to stop cooperating. Now, eight partners have stopped. Xu Mingkai kept his word, stopping one every three minutes.
The situation changed so quickly that everyone present was stunned, and the woman hadn't even recovered from the slap.
The woman was extremely aggrieved. "Husband, what are you doing? He called me a dog, so what if I called his whole family dogs? You didn't stand up for me, and you even hit me!"
The middle-aged man slapped her again. "Mr. Ji... My wife is being unreasonable and disturbing your rest. I apologize on her behalf. I hope you will be magnanimous and not hold it against us common folk. I will teach her a lesson when we get back."
Ji Hancheng seemed to be thinking, stroked his chin, and said in a deep voice, "What if I insist on arguing about it?"
The middle-aged man was sweating profusely, and he really wanted to tear his wife to pieces.
After thinking it over, the dean, being in a position of authority, immediately turned his attention to Tang Junyao, saying, "Dr. Tang, I'm sorry you had to suffer this injustice. This is my dereliction of duty, and I'm truly sorry."
Being suddenly called out by name, especially by the dean's apology, made her a little embarrassed. She glanced at Ji Hancheng and said, "Let me explain. I'm not taking the blame. From beginning to end, I did not ask the patient to have an abortion or not. It was her personal wish. I just wanted her to live."
As for that woman's apology, she didn't want it. There was no point in talking to that kind of person; even centuries of apologies would be meaningless.
But Ji Hancheng didn't think so. His sharp eyes were fixed on the woman. The middle-aged man quickly realized what was happening and pulled his wife towards Tang Junyao, saying, "Apologize."
The woman was indignant, but she still said, "I'm sorry, Dr. Tang."
Tang Junyao neither put on airs nor responded, clearly indicating that her apology was not sincere and that she simply didn't want to engage.
Seeing that Ji Hancheng's expression had softened a bit, the dean dispersed the crowd. "Have you all seen enough? Go to work. Dr. Tang, if you're tired, take a day off today."
Tang Junyao scoffed inwardly, "No need." After the curtain fell, Tang Junyao turned and left with Su Xue.
A gaze from behind remained fixed on her until she disappeared.
