The entire sect is obsessed with love, but I'm the only one who's truly insane.

Chapter 350: Why not consider pouring out your heart to my corpse?

"You two, where did you come from?"

"Reporting to the First Elder, the Third Elder ordered us to hunt down two cultivators from the Supreme Sect. We just happened to encounter a fiend who killed Lin Du and wanted to claim the bounty, so we brought him back."

"What about Hou Cang?" The Great Demon squinted at the scruffy demons behind the two evil cultivators and covered his nose in disgust.

"Our people are still chasing Hou Cang." The two men lowered their heads, but their words were not particularly respectful.

The Great Demon scoffed, "It's just a lucky break. The Third Elder's men really have no ability. What is Lin Du anyway? If he's so capable, why doesn't he kill Hou Cang?"

"Yes, we really don't have that ability. If even the Seventh Elder can't kill someone, we can't kill them either. We can only do our best, at least we didn't leave empty-handed." One of them lowered his head, but his tone was contemptuous. "If the Grand Elder is not satisfied, he can go and have a go at Hou Cang."

The Great Demon sneered, releasing his demonic aura to suppress the people in front of him. "You think you can defy me just because you're the Third Elder's confidants? You two mere evil cultivators, acting like lackeys of our demonic forces, really think you're so easy to deal with?"

The evil cultivator was bent over, but still refused to budge an inch. "We dare not. We are just trying to make a living. Naturally, we are not as good as the Grand Elder. The true evil cultivator is the most capable person by the Demon Lord's side."

The little demon behind the evil cultivator stared around with its beady green eyes. Just as the demonic energy was released, it was a step too late and lowered its head and bent over.

No evil spirits noticed or paid any attention to this scene.

In the midst of the stalemate, a light, airy laugh suddenly broke through, gently dispelling the heavy demonic aura emanating from everyone.

The little demon saw that the person in front of him had straightened his back, so he straightened up as well.

"Elder, no offense, but you are a highly senior figure in our Demon Palace, second only to the Emperor. Why bother with me, your lowly subordinate?"

The Third Elder appeared in the hall, looking thoughtfully at the demons behind the two men. "Alright, come with me. I'll take you to see the Demon Lord to receive your reward."

Upon hearing this, the First Elder blocked the Third Elder's path, saying, "I'll go with you."

"The Demon Lord is in seclusion. I am only reporting through the Water Mirror. Elder, you have used it before as well."

The Third Elder still had a smile on his face, "You know the Demon Lord's temperament. If you have nothing else to do, just go find him..."

The Grand Elder, recalling Qian Yu's previous outburst of rage, remained silent for a moment before saying, "I'm leaving now. You just wait until the Demon Lord emerges from seclusion! You scoundrel who has gained power!"

The little demon finally got his chance and followed the Third Elder step by step toward a side hall.

The road seemed very long. We walked and walked... checkpoints, turns, and palaces appeared one after another, a dazzling array of sights.

The little demon sighed inwardly, this path was more chaotic than its entire life.

Finally, they arrived at an underground palace. The stone door slammed shut behind them. The glass lamps hanging from the ceiling reflected the eerie ripples of a pool of water, and strange, strip-shaped objects could be vaguely seen sealed inside.

"Now, give me Lin Du's body." The Third Elder suddenly turned around, his half-mask appearing mottled and gloomy under the light.

The little demon pulled out a body bag. "Third Elder, what about the promised five hundred magic crystals?"

The Third Elder stared intently at the demon before him. "Do you need five hundred magic crystals?"

The demon's eyes widened, his beady green eyes filled with disbelief. "You, the dignified Third Elder of the Demon Palace, are actually going back on your word?"

"I never expected you to be like this, Third Elder!"

Seeing the little demon's reaction, the Third Elder suddenly raised his hand, startling the little demon into turning and running away. He also unleashed an attack to try and defend, but the demonic energy still enveloped him.

A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. "It really is a demon."

It wasn't a human in disguise; it was filled with demonic energy.

He looked at the body bag, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

Is Lin Du really dead?

How could this be...?

Wasn't that little girl supposed to be incredibly clever? How could she have been killed by such a filthy demon who just happened to stumble upon her?

He hesitated for a moment, then said, "No, it's just that I wanted to test you. I heard from them that you're looking for a job."

The demon turned around and nodded repeatedly, "Yes."

The Third Elder deftly pulled out a box containing five hundred magic crystals. "Here you go."

As soon as the demon took it, the two evil cultivators behind him, seeing the Third Elder's gaze, simultaneously swung out iron chains and restrained the demon.

"Hang it up. If it really killed Lin Du, let it taste the Holy Spirit Water. After its body dissolves, then destroy the demonic fetus."

Before the demon could cry out, the Third Elder bent down and easily tore the body bag apart, turning the corpse over.

Wenfu frowned as soon as they met.

That was indeed Lin Du's face, disheveled, pale, with his eyes closed and black blood trickling from the corner of his lips. He was clearly in a sorry state, yet it was as if white jade had been stained with mud, and no matter how disheveled he was, his natural beauty could not be concealed.

He stared silently at the corpse, took a deep breath, first confirming there were no masks or magical artifacts, then reached out and checked the corpse's pulse, calling out, "Junior Sister?"

Indeed, there was no sign of life; there was no need to even check the pulse.

The entire body had begun to lose temperature, becoming icy cold, like the snow that never melts in the far north.

Wenfu frowned, then suddenly stood up. "Impossible, absolutely impossible."

How could Lin Du, with his intelligence, die so easily?

He turned his head sharply and looked at the demon that had been hung up.

"Are you Lin Du?"

The demon was shouting and yelling, "Why aren't you doing anything demonic anymore! I don't want the bounty anymore! I don't want the job anymore! Please, let me go! Let me go back to my own demon lair! I swear I can bury myself!"

Wen Fu frowned upon seeing this, placed a restriction on the corpse, then walked towards the demon. Suddenly, a cold-looking knife appeared in his hand, and he plunged it into the demon's body.

Demonic energy surged forth, accompanied by the piercing wails of evil spirits.

"Tell me, how did you kill her!"

"She was already low on spiritual power, and then I chased after her and killed her with a few blows!" the demon gritted his teeth. "You old thief! I'll eat you alive! Is this how you demons of the Demon Palace rule the Demon Realm?!"

Wen Fu sneered, "Aren't demons just creatures devoid of morality and ethics? Isn't what I'm doing perfectly normal?"

He drew his long sword. "Are you sure Lin Du didn't threaten you into bringing her in? Is she really not faking her death?"

"I just killed someone, isn't it normal for a demon to kill someone? I'm not saying you're crazy!" the demon shouted.

Wen Fu seemed to be smiling, but his eyes were filled with strange tears. He turned his head and looked at the corpse that was bound in place by the restriction. He plunged his long sword into the corpse's dantian.

"You won so easily, Junior Sister. I really didn't expect... you actually... died so casually."

He slowly swirled the long sword in his hand within his dantian, listening intently to the sound of flesh being churned.

"Now, even if you pretend to be dead, you're still going to die."

"I didn't want to kill you, but you wouldn't come back to life..."

"What am I supposed to do?"

"You used yourself to help Hou Cang escape? How wonderful, you actually did what I wanted. This time, Hou Cang has truly become a sinner of the Supreme Sect."

He couldn't help but laugh, his voice sounding somewhat eerie in the empty underground palace.

"I did it?" His voice was filled with manic joy.

"Hey, I said," a voice suddenly rang out, and the corpse beneath his blade instantly turned into a blanket of ice and snow.

"After being insane for so long, haven't you considered pouring out your heart to my corpse, saying something useful?"

Lin Du's slow, deliberate voice echoed in the underground palace.

Wen Fu was startled and turned around. The blade of his long sword fell to the ground with a clanging sound.

He stared in astonishment at the person whose body was re-formed amidst the swirling snow, not even noticing his two subordinates suddenly collapsing to the ground. He simply threw his head back and laughed, "You really are still alive???"

"You're still alive!"

Lin Du clicked his tongue softly, raised his hand, and sealed the stone gate shut. "Sorry, I value my life."

Snow Spirit's innate skill allows her to transform into snow and return to her initial state.

The downside is that this is equivalent to dispersing the spirit, and it requires a high concentration of spiritual energy in the environment to condense back, provided that the nascent soul and divine palace are not destroyed in the process.

If it weren't for the rich spiritual energy in the pool here, Lin Du probably wouldn't have been able to maintain his death for so long and would have had to rise from the dead prematurely, before Hou Cang actually killed those two evil cultivators.

Lin Du smiled and tilted his head, "You seem very happy to see me."

Wenfu laughed until tears streamed down his face. "Of course I'm happy."

Lin Du nodded. "I'm happy too. One question each, taking turns answering, what do you think?"

Wenfu raised his hand and wiped away the tears from the corner of his eyes. "How did Hou Cang come out?"

Lin Du blinked. "It's a secret."

"That mountain of flesh and all those who turned into demons, were you responsible?"

Wenfu nodded, "Yes."

"How did you do that? Was that demon threatened and controlled by you?"

Lin Du laughed. "Of course not, this thing is still your puppet, have you forgotten?"

"You even used it during the Central Plains Grand Competition. I just dressed the puppet in the skin of a demon." Lin Du tilted his head. "You didn't even recognize it."

It's understandable that you didn't recognize it. The skin was freshly slain from a demon underground, with the Cold Moon Spirit residing inside, controlling the puppet. The core was a magic crystal, and what was leaking out was demonic energy, making it very difficult to recognize.

Lin Du brandished the Floating Life Fan. "It's my turn. What exactly is your purpose in encouraging the Demon Lord to personally go to the Supreme Sect?"

She stood there smiling, her body a mess. The two eyes that had been tightly closed just moments before were now finally open. With white hair and gray eyes, she resembled Yan Ye's carefree and unruly nature, confident of victory, yet radiating a light that Yan Ye lacked—a solitary and arrogant spirit that belonged only to her.

Behind her stood a man, dressed in white, holding a sword. He was aloof and cold, with blood trickling down his blade, poised to strike at any moment and take her head.
