Chapter 95: Donate to the Homeless If You Don't Eat

Fu Chen's lips curled into a smile, a barely perceptible smirk appearing in his eyes.

He lay on the bed and glanced at the medical equipment beside him.

"Chen Yan, I'm not feeling well right now. I can't eat or sleep."

The words were perfectly normal, but when he said them, they took on a different meaning.

Chen Yan understood his meaning and said, "I think it's getting late. My sister-in-law is very busy and probably doesn't have time to eat. I'll go and call her."

With someone by my side, I should be able to eat more now.

He hurried upstairs and knocked on the door.

The door was opened after a long time.

Ruan Qing changed her clothes, put on light makeup, and picked up her bag to go out.

"Sister-in-law, where are you going?"

Ruan Qing closed the door and walked out of the elevator: "I'm about to go home, what's wrong?"

Chen Yan looked a little embarrassed and rubbed his hands: "President Fu is not feeling well and can't eat. He would like to ask his wife for help."

Upon hearing this, she paused for a moment and then entered the elevator.

He laughed and spread his hands: "If you're not feeling well, go see a doctor. If you can't eat, donate your food to the homeless. Why are you coming to me? Am I a god? Will going to him make him better?"

After saying that, the elevator doors slowly closed, leaving Chen Yan standing there in the corridor.

No way, even the self-inflicted injury trick didn't work?

Chen Yan relayed every word Ruan Qing said to Fu Chen verbatim.

His expectant face suddenly darkened.

The chill in his eyes spread throughout his body, making everyone around him afraid to even breathe.

"Mr. Fu, how about... we eat first?"

Chen Yan brought over the dinner specially prepared by the nutritionist, but Fu Chen shot him a cold glare. He didn't have the courage to put the food on the table, holding it like a hot potato.

Come back home?

They really treat the He family like their own home; they have no conscience.

He gripped the sheets tightly with both hands, determined to sit up.

"President Fu."

Chen Yan put down her plate and quickly went to help him.

Fu Chen sat in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the familiar figure getting into a Maybach.

Upon seeing who it was, his brows furrowed even more, and the corners of his lips twitched involuntarily.

"Mr. Fu... the doctor said you need to rest and avoid getting upset."

Chen Yan whispered a reminder beside him, afraid that President Fu would be so angry that he would die.

After all, she fainted from anger after just looking at a few photos on the plane last time, so the probability of her dying from anger is obviously not zero.

Fu Chen stared intently at the two figures downstairs, completely oblivious to everything around him.

He was insanely jealous.

……

The He family.

Ruan Qing received a call from He Xunnan an hour ago, asking her to come home for dinner.

She didn't want to go, but the thought of Fu Chen living downstairs made her think about him uncontrollably.

I want to know how he is doing.

The words Chen Yan had just said to her were now swirling in her mind.

Thankfully, he left; otherwise, if he had softened his heart, he might have gotten himself into trouble again.

She was lost in her own fantasy, completely unaware of the gazes that were constantly fixed on her from those around her.

"What are you thinking about?"

He Xunan asked softly.

His voice brought Ruan Qing back to reality. She turned to face He Xun Nan and said, "It's nothing."

He Xunan raised an eyebrow slightly, but did not press the matter further.

He hadn't been back for so long, and seeing his sister's blank stare, his heart sank even further.

Back at the He family home, Pei Yu was already waiting outside the door.

Ruan Qing quickly stepped forward, took her arm, and said coquettishly, "Mom, you don't have to wait outside every time. It's not like we can't find our way home."

Ever since she returned to the He family, no matter what time she came home, Pei Yu would always be waiting for her at the door.

Pei Yu helped her into the room: "He Zhou, Nan Nan is back. Quickly bring the dishes up."

"it is good."

As soon as she sat down, Youyou came bouncing over, climbed onto the sofa, and leaned against her legs.

"Mommy~"

Ruan Qing pointed at her, pretending to be angry.

Youyou immediately changed her tune: "Auntie~ do you miss Youyou?"

Pei Yu walked over and teased, "You play with your friends at kindergarten every day and never come home. Don't you miss your grandma?"

Youyou straightened up and said in her childish voice, "I miss them all! I miss Grandma, I miss Auntie, and I miss Daddy!"

At this point, she suddenly lowered her head, pouting, "But Dad hasn't come to see Youyou for several days. Does he not love Youyou anymore?"

He Xunnan is busy with work and has a house next to the company where he usually lives.

However, he would go home almost every other day and would make a special trip to play with Youyou.

Ruan Qing pulled her into her arms and patted her shoulder to comfort her: "How could that be? Dad loves Youyou the most. He must be too busy with work."

Just then, He Xunnan walked over and took Youyou from Ruan Qing's arms.

His voice was so gentle as he coaxed the child: "I'm sorry, Daddy was a bit busy the other day. Whatever you want, Daddy will buy it for you."

Youyou nestled on his shoulder, "Youyou doesn't want anything, she just wants her dad to be with her."

This statement might not mean much to others.

But for businessmen, nothing that can be bought with money is worth much; it is companionship, which cannot be measured by money, that is the real luxury.

He Xunan agreed.

At the dinner table, Pei Yu brought up the matter of the family reunion.

She looked at He Xun Nan: "Xun Nan, what are your thoughts?"

He Xunan put down his chopsticks and bowl: "You can arrange this kind of thing."

Pei Yu glanced at He Zhou, then looked at Ruan Qing. Seeing that she had no opinion, he could only agree.

After dinner, the mother and daughter took a walk in the garden.

Pei Yu, recalling the paternity test, tentatively asked, "Speaking of which, your friend is really something. My daughter and I are practically identical, why do we need a paternity test?"

"Haha, that's true." Ruan Qing took a selfie with Pei Yu while holding her phone. "But it's his job, he's just doing his job."

Pei Yu smiled, feigning ignorance, "I understand, I understand. Oh, have you made your reservation? What do you need to prepare in advance?"

Ruan Qing shook her head, "No rush. The people at the testing center said that you need to make an appointment at least three days in advance. I'll contact you when I have any news."

"Okay, you're out there building your career on your own, don't make yourself suffer."

Pei Yu said earnestly, "Use your family connections whenever possible, especially your brother. Here, everyone has to treat him with respect."

Ruan Qing understood what her mother meant: resources and connections should be used when necessary.

But she still wants to establish herself in her career on her own.

"I know, let's go, it's windy outside, let's go back."

Pei Yu pulled He Zhou aside and whispered in the kitchen, "What's wrong with Xun Nan? Wasn't it him who brought up the family reunion? Why is he ignoring it now?"

"Don't ask any more questions, just do as he says."

Pei Yu sighed deeply: "Fine, anyway, we can't be in the public eye, and we can't go to the family reunion."

Before leaving, Youyou clung to Ruan Qing, refusing to let go, saying, "I don't want you to leave."

She squatted down: "It's not like you'll never see her again, sweetie, come back with Grandma."

Youyou reluctantly let go, pointing at her and saying, "Then Auntie, you have to buy me 'green berries and pancakes' next time!"

Pei Yu's expression suddenly changed, and he stepped forward to pick up Youyou: "What nonsense are you talking about? If you want to eat pancakes, Grandma will make them for you tomorrow."
