His physiological preference

Chapter 98 The Road Ahead Is Long and Difficult

Yang Zhiyan's hand slid from his shoulder to his chest, and from his chest to his abs.

Her fingers were pressed against his skin, without any clothing in between. His shirt had been undone at some point, and her hand was directly on his abs.

It feels great, much better than when she touched it through her clothes. It's hard and lumpy.

Her fingers slowly traced the grooves of his abdominal muscles.

Qin Yuzheng grabbed her hand. "Baby," his voice was hoarse and unlike his usual self, "you're setting a fire."

Yang Zhiyan withdrew her hand, her face turning even redder. Qin Yuzheng lowered his head and kissed her forehead, then propped himself up and looked at her.

His hand was still on her waist, his thumb slowly circling her skin.

"I haven't showered yet," Yang Zhiyan said in a voice so soft it was barely audible.

"Together?" Qin Yuzheng invited.

Yang Zhiyan blushed and shook her head.

"You shower in this room, I'll go next door," Qin Yuzheng said, getting out of bed in agreement.

Yang Zhiyan sat on the edge of the bed and watched him walk out and close the door.

She touched her cheek with the back of her hand; it was hot. She stood up, went into the master bathroom, and closed the door.

The faucet in the bathroom next door was turned on, and the sound of water gushing out and hitting the tiles was quite loud.

Qin Yuzheng was so happy he felt like he could fly. He was going to eat meat, and his gun, which hadn't been used for thirty-five years, was going to be used on the battlefield.

Yang Zhiyan stood under the showerhead, hot water pouring down from above, flowing down her hair, shoulders, back, and thighs.

Her heart was pounding. She remembered what Jiang Siya had said, "You should hurry up and pounce on your boss."

She took the initiative tonight, nodded, and now it's about to happen. She's a little nervous. Her hands are shaking.

When Qin Yuzheng finished washing, his hair was still dripping wet. He was wearing pajamas.

When he came out of the bathroom, the door to the master bedroom was still closed. Yang Zhiyan was still inside. Qin Yuzheng stood by the bed for a while, then began to pace back and forth.

His fingers clenched in his pocket, clenching and unclenching repeatedly. He took a deep breath and exhaled. In his thirty-five years of life, he had never been so nervous.

The door opened.

Yang Zhiyan came out of the bathroom.

Her hair was wrapped in a towel and loosely draped over her head, with a few stray strands hanging down from the edge of the towel and clinging to her face.

Her face was flushed from the steaming hot water, her eyes were bright, and her lips were a natural light pink.

Qin Yuzheng looked at her, his Adam's apple bobbing. He walked over and stood in front of her.

His gaze fell on her face, and he raised his fingers to gently touch her cheek.

"Baby." His voice was low.

Yang Zhiyan looked up at him. There was desire in his eyes.

She raised her hand and grasped his shirt at the chest. She stood on tiptoe and pressed her lips to his.

His lips were cool; he had just taken a shower, and the taste of mint toothpaste hadn't dissipated yet.

Qin Yuzheng's hand slid from her cheek to her waist, his fingers tracing her waistline.

His lips moved from her lips to the corner of her mouth, and from the corner of her mouth to her earlobe. Her body went limp, and she leaned against him.

The phone rang; it was Yang Zhiyan calling.

The alarm clock rang from the bathroom.

Yang Zhiyan struggled slightly from his embrace. "I'll go check on him," Qin Yuzheng said, without letting go.

"Maybe it's the deliveryman." He heard his own voice, filled with a self-deceptive determination. Tonight, even if the King of Heaven himself came, he wouldn't be able to stop him from eating meat.

Yang Zhiyan had already slid off the bed, ran barefoot to the bathroom, and picked up her phone from the sink. It really was a delivery call.

She didn't answer, muted the phone, and placed it face down on the sink.

When Yang Zhiyan came out of the bathroom, her face was a little pale. She stood at the bathroom door, her hand gripping the door frame.

Qin Yuzheng leaned against the headboard and his expression changed drastically when he saw her expression.

"What's wrong?"

"I..." Yang Zhiyan said awkwardly, "My period has started."

Qin Yuzheng thought he had misheard. He had calculated what day it was.

Her last period was a month and a half ago. He even checked it on his phone while showering.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say "impossible," but then he saw her fingers gripping the door frame and her slightly pale lips.

He leaned against the headboard, looked up at the ceiling, and let out a long sigh.

The road to eating meat is long and arduous.

Yang Zhiyan stood at the bathroom door, looking at him like that, and felt like laughing, but also felt that she shouldn't.

She walked over, sat down on the edge of the bed, and patted the back of his hand.

"I told Siya just two days ago that I was under so much stress that my period was more than half a month late."

"Siya said that all I need to do is sleep with a handsome guy. I told her she's always giving bad advice."

She paused for a moment, "I didn't expect it to come before it even started. Is being handsome really a cure-all?"

Qin Yuzheng turned to look at her, his expression full of resentment.

"What are you laughing at?" His voice carried a wronged accusation, as if to say, "I'm already like this and you're still laughing."

Yang Zhiyan couldn't help but smile slightly. "I wasn't smiling."

You smiled.

"I didn't." Yang Zhiyan pressed her lips down, but after less than a second, they curved back up.

Qin Yuzheng looked at her, then suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms. He rested his chin on the top of her head, his arms tightening around her waist.

"Baby," his voice muffled above her head, "do you know how long I've waited for this day?"

Yang Zhiyan buried her face in his chest and didn't say anything. Of course she knew. He had said that he only responded to her.

Qin Yuzheng hugged her for a while, then let go and looked down at her face.

"Go change your clothes first. I'll go make some brown sugar ginger tea." He got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom.

Let's return to Yang Zhiyan's side.

"Where do you keep your brown sugar ginger tea?"

Yang Zhiyan watched his retreating figure, a slight smile curving her lips. "The second one from the right in the kitchen wall cabinet."

Qin Yuzheng found brown sugar and ginger.

He moved quickly; when he chopped ginger, the knife landed on the cutting board with a thud, faster than usual.

He needed to find something to do to calm his body down. He boiled the water, added ginger slices and brown sugar, and stirred it with a spoon.

The brown sugar slowly dissolved in the hot water, and the spicy aroma of ginger rose from the pot, creating a hazy, white mist that blurred his face.

He looked at the pot of brown sugar ginger tea. His love life had been full of ups and downs, and fate always seemed to play tricks on him. But he believed that the end was always the end, and good things come to those who wait.

He turned off the stove, poured the ginger tea into a thermos, and screwed the lid on.

When he carried the thermos back to the bedroom, Yang Zhiyan had already changed into her pajamas.

A light gray cotton-linen suit, long-sleeved and long-legged.

She leaned against the headboard, the blanket pulled up to her waist, holding her phone in her hand. The light from the screen shone on her face, making it appear deathly white.

Qin Yuzheng placed the thermos on the bedside table, unscrewed the lid, and poured a small cup.

"Be careful, it's hot." He sat on the edge of the bed and handed her the cup. Yang Zhiyan took it, blew on it, and drank it in small sips.

The ginger tea is spicy and sweet, warming you from your throat all the way to your stomach.

She took a few sips, put the cup down, and looked at Qin Yuzheng. He sat on the edge of the bed, showing no sign of leaving.

His hands rested on his knees, his fingers tapping slowly on them. His gaze was fixed on the bedside lamp; he didn't look at her, but he didn't look away either.

"Aren't you going back yet?" Yang Zhiyan asked.

Qin Yuzheng looked at her.

"Baby, can I sleep here tonight?"

Yang Zhiyan was taken aback. "Don't you have a bed over there?"

"You're on your period and feeling unwell, so I have to stay and take care of you," Qin Yuzheng said matter-of-factly. What a perfectly valid reason.

Unable to eat meat, one can only look at plums to quench thirst.
