When Qin Zhiheng was five years old, he had already grown into a child who was easy to take care of.

Every morning, he gets up, dresses himself, brushes his teeth, washes his face, and sits quietly at the dining table waiting for Yang Zhiyan to serve him porridge.

He's not picky about food; he eats whatever Aunt Li makes.

But what warmed Yang Zhiyan's heart the most was his natural habit of taking care of people, which he had learned from Qin Yuzheng.

Once, Yang Zhiyan caught a cold and was curled up on the sofa wrapped in a blanket.

Qin Zhiheng poured a glass of warm water.

"Mom, drink more water. Dad says you should drink more water when you have a cold."

Yang Zhiyan took the drink and looked at his serious little face; he was such a sweet little man.

Qin Yuzheng bent down and looked at Qin Zhiheng, "Hengheng, you did the right thing. A real man should take care of girls."

Qin Zhiheng nodded vigorously, "Taking care of Mom is what I should do."

During the week Qin Yuzheng was away on a business trip, Yang Zhiyan invited Jiang Siya out for dinner.

In Haicheng in autumn, the plane tree leaves turn yellow all the way, and sunlight filters through the gaps in the branches and leaves.

Yang Zhiyan arrived earlier than Jiang Siya with Qin Zhiheng. He was carrying a small canvas bag containing his water bottle and a small bag of biscuits.

When Jiang Siya arrived, she was carrying shopping bags in her hand and had a rather large bag slung over her shoulder.

Upon seeing this, Qin Zhiheng slid off the chair and ran over, "Godmother, let me help you carry it!"

He reached out and took the shopping bag from Jiang Siya's hand. Although the bag was a bit heavy, he still tried his best to carry it back to his seat, put it next to the chair, and hung it on the back of the chair.

Jiang Siya stood frozen at the doorway, watching him do all this. "This child..."

Yang Zhiyan took a sip of tea. "You'll get used to it."

While shopping, Qin Zhiheng walked between Yang Zhiyan and Jiang Siya, carrying several small shopping bags filled with things Jiang Siya had bought.

Yang Zhiyan offered to get one for him, but he shook his head, "No need, I can manage."

During the meal, just as Jiang Siya picked up her teacup, Qin Zhiheng pushed the recommended dish from the menu in front of her.

"Godmother, this is delicious. Dad brought Mom to this restaurant before, and Mom said it was good too. Godmother, you should try it too."

Jiang Siya looked at him, then at Yang Zhiyan, and asked, "Do you spend all day at home enslaving my godson?"

Yang Zhiyan put down her chopsticks. "I'm innocent. He learned it from his father. You can't blame me."

Jiang Siya pulled Qin Zhiheng to her side, "Hengheng, tell your godmother, is it your mother who's bossing you around?"

Qin Zhiheng shook his head, "Godmother, don't wrong my mother. My father said that as a man, I should take care of girls."

He looked at Jiang Siya earnestly, "Besides, godmother, I just poured you water, got you tissues, and took your bag. Even..."

He pointed to the milk tea on the table, "This cup of milk tea was made with my New Year's money."

When Jiang Siya heard him say that, she remembered that Qin Zhiheng had indeed paid for the milk tea earlier.

He took out a 50-yuan bill from his small wallet and handed it over, saying, "I'm treating my godmother to milk tea."

Jiang Siya clutched the banknote, looking at the tiny figure in front of her who barely reached her waist. She couldn't help but pick Qin Zhiheng up and place him on her lap. "It's over," she thought.

She said, "Hengheng, are you some kind of central heating system? You warm up wherever you go."

Qin Zhiheng tilted his head. "What is central air conditioning?"

Yang Zhiyan reached out and pulled her son back from Jiang Siya's lap. "Jiang Siya, don't set a bad example for the child. If you're bored, you should have a child yourself."

Jiang Siya leaned back in her chair, picked up her milk tea, and took a sip. "It's wonderful to have an angelic child like Hengheng, but most people can't achieve that. Oh well, I guess I'll just stay single. Children and grandchildren have their own blessings; if I don't have children and grandchildren, I'll enjoy my own happiness."

Yang Zhiyan looked at her, "You and Mu Chenli really have no chance?"

Jiang Siya's finger paused on the rim of the glass for a moment. "It's impossible for us. A broken mirror can never be mended."

Yang Zhiyan thought about how she and Qin Yuzheng had a whirlwind marriage and childbirth, and then looked at Jiang Siya and Mu Chenli, who had been entangled for so many years without any results. They were like two extremes.

"Aren't your aunt and uncle pressuring you?"

Jiang Siya smiled and said, "They've come to terms with it."

Qin Zhiheng took a big gulp of milk tea.

Only two weeks later, Jiang Siya asked Yang Zhiyan to meet her, saying she had something important to say.

They met at a quiet coffee shop. After sitting down, Jiang Siya didn't rush to order. She first put her bag on the chair next to her, clasped her hands on the table, and remained silent for several seconds before speaking: "I'm pregnant."

Yang Zhiyan's coffee cup froze in mid-air. "Whose is it?"

Jiang Siya didn't look at her. "Don't ask anymore."

Yang Zhiyan put down her cup. "What do you want to do?"

Jiang Siya raised her head. "I want to have the baby. I'm getting older, and having a child would be nice. My parents have gone from hoping I'd get married to saying they're okay with me not getting married, as long as they can take care of the child."

Yang Zhiyan reached out and took her hand. "Okay, then I want to be the child's godmother too."

Jiang Siya resigned a long time ago. She went home to help her father run their small company, and she's doing a great job.

Mu Chenli pursued her intensely for a period of time, sending her flowers and bags, waiting for her downstairs at her company until late at night, and sending her messages more punctually than clocking in for work.

Jiang Siya only replied with one sentence: "Why bother? I have no feelings for you anymore. A proper ex should leave each other alone."

Mu Chenli never appeared in front of her again. Occasionally, when he saw her posts on social media, he would just like them but not comment.

The two remained single, and when they occasionally met at business events, they only exchanged nods.

Yang Zhiyan genuinely didn't know how Jiang Siya got pregnant. She didn't press the matter.

When Yang Zhiyan got home that evening, she told Qin Yuzheng about it.

After listening, Qin Yuzheng remained silent for a while, then picked up his phone and dialed Qin Yushang's number.

"Ah Shang, could you keep an eye out for me on something? Jiang Siya, Yan Yan's friend, does she have any business that needs your help? Could you lend a hand?"

Qin Yushang's voice on the other end of the phone carried a hint of helplessness, "Brother, what's going on? Lately, everyone's been telling me to take good care of Jiang Siya."

Qin Yuzheng asked, "Who else?" Qin Yushang replied, "Mu Chenli. And Zhou Zhanyu."

Qin Yuzheng paused for a moment. He could understand why Mu Chenli still couldn't forget Jiang Siya, given their past relationship.

Zhou Zhanyu? The two are completely unrelated, and probably haven't even met more than a few times.

Qin Yuzheng's brow twitched slightly. "Zhou Zhanyu?"

Qin Yushang's voice carried a hint of gossip, "I don't know the specifics, but he did mention it, telling me to look after Jiang Siya's company. I thought you already knew, that's why he told me."

Qin Yuzheng didn't ask any further questions. "Okay, you can keep an eye on things for now."

Qin Yuzheng hung up the phone and sent a text message to Zhou Zhanyu: "Brother, if you like her, hurry up and go for it, or you'll regret it."

Now that things have come to this, it's up to fate what happens next. I hope my brother can be as lucky as him and marry a beautiful wife soon.

Then Qin Yuzheng returned to his room.

Yang Zhiyan asked, "What's wrong?"

Qin Yuzheng reached out and put his arm around her. "It's alright."

Yang Zhiyan leaned on his shoulder, "It's not easy for Siya to raise a child alone."

Qin Yuzheng lowered his head and kissed her forehead. "Don't worry."

Yang Zhiyan didn't answer, but buried her face in his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

Qin Zhiheng ran out of his bedroom, clutching his little pillow, "Daddy, can I sleep with you tonight?"

Qin Yuzheng looked at him, then at Yang Zhiyan, and then waved to Qin Zhiheng.

Qin Zhiheng ran over, climbed onto the bed, and squeezed between the two of them.

Qin Yuzheng looked down at the two babies in his arms, one big and one small, and said, "Go to sleep."

Yang Zhiyan closed her eyes and felt Qin Zhiheng's small hand resting on the back of her hand, his five little fingers clenching her fingers.

The night outside the window was deep, and the lights in the room were off, with only a small nightlight on.

A happy family of three.
