His physiological preference
Chapter 132 A Group of Light Bulbs
Yang Zhiyan loosened her grip on the seatbelt.
She turned her head and looked at Qin Yuzheng's profile. Sunlight shone through the windshield and fell on his brow bone, revealing his perfect bone structure, as if he had been favored by Nuwa.
She suddenly reached out and hugged him.
She wrapped her arm around his shoulder and buried her face in the crook of his shoulder. The movement was a bit sudden, as he was still driving and had the steering wheel in his hands.
When she leaned closer, he tilted his head slightly, slowed down, and pulled over.
"Thank you." Her voice was muffled in the hollow of his shoulder, with a slight nasal tone.
During this period, she had very little contact with the Yang family, and her heart had already returned to peace.
But the inferiority complex and resentment in her heart would occasionally surface and offend Yang Zhiyan.
But today, he took her back to "collect a debt," clearly putting an end to all the grievances she had suffered, the bitterness she had swallowed, and the days she had been treated like a tool.
She lived in that house for over twenty years, and no one ever stood up for her.
When she was little, her brother took her toys, and her mother said, "You're the younger sister, so you should let your older brother have them."
She wanted a computer after getting into university, but her dad said, "Why would a girl need something so nice?"
She started sending money home after graduating and starting work, and her mother said, "That's only right."
She thought she had gotten used to it, that those things would stop hurting once they were over. But today, Qin Yuzheng was sitting in the Yang family's living room, arguing for her, speaking up for her, and supporting her.
It feels so good to have someone stand up for you.
Qin Yuzheng was being held by her, and he took one hand off the steering wheel and gently stroked her back.
He parked the car, turned off the engine, then turned to the side and gently lifted her out of his shoulder, looking at her red eyes.
"I don't need verbal thanks," Qin Yuzheng said. "I need actions. A hug and a kiss are the greatest recognition for me. You've done a great job with that, and you deserve praise."
"But I have to criticize you, Yang Zhiyan, for what happened today. You wanted to hug me and kiss me, but you had to restrain yourself while I was driving. It was too dangerous."
Yang Zhiyan looked at him. Qin Yuzheng's expression was serious and stern, which startled Yang Zhiyan, and she nodded.
Then Qin Yuzheng pointed to his lips and said, "Now that the car is parked, we can kiss."
She stopped crying and started laughing, then leaned over and kissed him on the lips.
Qin Yuzheng didn't let go of her. His hand slid down her back, supporting the back of her head, and deepened the kiss.
His tongue swept across her lips, carrying a hint of minty coolness and persistence.
As they parted, his thumb lightly brushed against her cheekbone.
"Great, great, baby's getting better and better."
Yang Zhiyan was so embarrassed that she wanted to punch him.
We had lunch at a Cantonese restaurant.
Qin Yuzheng chose a private room, where the light streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, making it warm and inviting.
Qin Yushang arrived after sending the betrothal gifts back to Shengshi Tianxi.
When he pushed open the door, he walked briskly, naturally pulled out a chair and sat down, then picked up the teapot and poured himself a cup of tea.
A slight frown appeared between Qin Yuzheng's brows. "Why are you here?"
Qin Yushang took a sip of tea, put the teacup down, and looked completely at ease.
"I've returned the items; it was on my way."
Qin Yuzheng looked at him with displeasure. He had specially chosen a private room, wanting to have lunch with his baby in a warm and intimate way, but why was there such a big third wheel?
When Qin Yuzheng spoke, each word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth:
"Don't you have any sense? We're newlyweds enjoying our time together, what are you doing interfering?"
Qin Yushang put down his teacup, turned to look at Yang Zhiyan with a pitiful expression, and said with a drooping mouth, "Sister-in-law, I want to eat too."
Qin Yuzheng was even angrier. "How dare my wife act cute?" That was his right. How could his younger brother take it?
Qin Yu Shang even retorted in a cheeky manner:
"Is she your wife? You're calling her that? As far as I know, you two haven't registered your marriage or had a wedding."
Qin Yuzheng was furious. It seemed that he had used his privileges to get the marriage certificate today.
Qin Yushang added fuel to the fire, "You're so fierce to your brother, be careful you don't scare your sister-in-law into changing her mind and not marrying you."
Qin Yuyan pushed the door open and came in.
She stood at the door, holding a bag of milk tea in her hand, her gaze sweeping around the private room before she stopped.
It seems we've come at the wrong time.
Yang Zhiyan waved to her, and Qin Yuyan walked in and sat down next to her.
Ignoring the two brothers who were locked in a love-hate relationship, Yang Zhiyan turned to chat with Qin Yuyan:
"What did you bring?"
Qin Yuyan placed the insulated bag on the table. "I bought red bean milk tea from that old shop I passed by, thinking you like it."
Yang Zhiyan took it and opened it; it was the one she liked.
Qin Yuzheng sat opposite him, watching his fiancée and his sister start chatting.
His gaze shifted from Yang Zhiyan's bright eyes to the top of Qin Yushang's head as he scrolled through his phone, then back again, noticing that Yang Zhiyan hadn't looked at him once throughout.
She was telling Qin Yuyan that the red bean milk tea was just the right sweetness, her lips curved into a smile, her eyelashes drooping.
Qin Yuzheng picked up the teapot and poured himself a cup. His eyebrows twitched slightly before he put the cup down.
How annoying, everyone's trying to steal his wife.
Before the food was even served, the door to the private room was pushed open again.
Mu Cheng walked in front, swaggering, followed by Mu Chenli.
As soon as Mu Cheng entered, he glanced at the table and said, "Wow, so many people. I thought it was just Brother Qin and his wife having a private time."
He pulled out a chair and sat down. Mu Chenli sat down next to him, his gaze sweeping around discreetly, but he didn't see Jiang Siya.
Qin Yuzheng leaned back in his chair, a hint of resentment in his voice. "Knowing I wanted some alone time with my partner, you still came?"
Mu Cheng shamelessly said, "Anyway, there are already light bulbs, so it won't make a difference if we have two more."
Qin Yuzheng asked again, "How did you know I was here?"
Mu Cheng poured himself a cup of tea. "Your brother said so." Friends are meant to be betrayed. Mu Cheng decisively shifted the blame to Qin Yushang.
Qin Yuzheng glared at Qin Yushang again, thinking, "You can come by yourself, but why bring so many conspicuous bags?"
Mu Cheng took a sip. "And the roast goose here is pretty good."
Mu Chenli took out his phone and sent a message.
Jiang Siya was staying at home when her phone vibrated, displaying the message "The Resurrected Corpse, Mu the Skinflint".
She stared at the name for a while, wondering what kind of trouble that unscrupulous Mu Bapi was up to now.
Jiang Siya reluctantly clicked on the message, "I'll treat you to a big meal, Cantonese cuisine, whatever you like."
Thankfully, it wasn't a work assignment.
Jiang Siya refused, saying, "I'm afraid I'll get indigestion if I eat with you."
Mu Chenli replied instantly: "Your best friend Yang Zhiyan is here too."
Jiang Siya's finger paused on the screen for a moment, then she opened Yang Zhiyan's chat window.
Yang Zhiyan was still chatting with Qin Yuyan when her phone lit up. She glanced down at it and saw Jiang Siya ask, "Where are you?"
She gave him the address, then added, "Come on, the food's almost ready, there's something you like. Ah Yan's here too."
Jiang Siya stood in front of the wardrobe, holding a coat in her hand, then changed into another one, and finally put on an apricot-colored sweater.
When she arrived, all the dishes had just been served. Jiang Siya pushed open the door and came in. Her gaze first swept over Yang Zhiyan and Qin Yuyan, then swept over Mu Chenli, without lingering on his face, and sat down next to Qin Yuyan.
Qin Yuzheng looked at the people at the table: his younger brother, his younger sister, Mu Cheng, Mu Chenli, and Jiang Siya.
What he had envisioned as a romantic getaway for two turned into a lively dinner party in just half an hour.
His gaze lingered on Mu Cheng's face:
"Have you been having too much free time lately?"
With a piece of char siu in his mouth, Mu Cheng mumbled, "Just taking a break from my busy schedule."
