Chapter 129 Proposal, New Year's Eve

Yang Zhiyan's expression was innocent. "How much money could a civil servant like him have? His salary is about the same as mine."

Mo Yunyun looked at her with a scrutinizing gaze, but Yang Zhiyan's expression was impeccable.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Do you think I don't know about his family background?"

Yang Zhiyan blinked and tilted her head. "I don't know."

Her tone was light and unguarded, like a naive little girl who was truly kept in the dark.

She took another sip of coffee and changed her tone, saying, "Miss Mo, don't be so idle. If you have nothing to do, go and do your own life. Don't stare at others like a rat in a gutter. You're a disgusting person."

"I have something to do, so I'll be going now. Thank you for the coffee."

She turned and walked towards the door. Mo Yunyun sat in the booth, watching Yang Zhiyan's figure disappear through the glass doors of the coffee shop.

Mo Yunyun picked up her coffee cup and took a sip. She put the cup down and slowly ran her finger along the inside of the cup.

Hearing Yang Zhiyan say this, Mo Yunyun was very angry.

Mo Yunyun stared at the coffee stains left at the bottom of the cup, a thought slowly swirling in her mind: if Yang Zhiyan had cheated on him, would Qin Yuzheng be willing to remarry her?

She stood up, adjusted her scarf, and walked out of the coffee shop.

The wind blowing across the river on New Year's Eve made her shrink her neck in the cold.

She stood under the streetlight, looking at the warm yellow light emanating from the lobby of the Jinhao Hotel. After standing there for a while, she turned and left.

When Yang Zhiyan came out of the coffee shop, the night wind hit her in the face, making her shrink her neck from the cold.

She quickly crossed the street and walked to the entrance of the Jinhao Hotel. The doorman opened the door for her, and warm yellow light shone from inside, illuminating her.

She had barely taken a step inside when she saw Qin Yuzheng.

He stood in the center of the lobby, wearing a dark suit with a white shirt underneath, no tie, and one button undone at the collar.

His hair was neater than usual. He was looking down at his phone, the screen's light illuminating his face and softening his expression.

Yang Zhiyan ran over. She reached him, reached out, and hugged him.

She buried her face in his chest, her arms wrapped around his waist. His suit was made of wool, which felt slightly rough against her palms, but his body was warm, and his body heat emanated through the fabric.

Qin Yuzheng was knocked back a small step by her, but then regained his balance.

He raised his hand, placed it on her back, and gently stroked it.

"Baby, what's wrong?" His voice came from above her head, low and with a hint of doubt.

Yang Zhiyan buried her face even deeper. "It's nothing, I just missed you."

Her voice was muffled in his chest, soft and gentle.

Qin Yuzheng paused on her back for a moment, then continued to stroke it.

He bent down and kissed the top of her head. "Let's go."

The two walked hand in hand through the lobby and into the elevator.

There were only the two of them in the elevator. Their figures were reflected in the silver elevator wall. He was wearing a dark suit, and she was wearing a burgundy dress. Qin Yuzheng was a head taller than her. Her hand was held by him, lying quietly in his palm.

The 28th floor of Jinhao Hotel.

When the elevator doors opened, the corridor was covered with a deep red carpet, the lighting was warm yellow, and the walls were adorned with framed photographs.

Qin Yuzheng took her hand and led her to the double doors at the end of the corridor.

He stopped, turned around and looked at her. He didn't say anything, but reached out and pushed open the door.

The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of Haicheng's nightscape. On New Year's Eve, Haicheng was ablaze with lights, the distant TV tower glowed with colorful lights, and cruise ships, adorned with lanterns, moved slowly across the river.

But Yang Zhiyan's attention wasn't on the window. She saw many people standing in the room: Mu Cheng, Mu Chenli, Qiu Jinyi, Liu Minlan, Zhou Zhanyu, Zhou Yijun, Yu Zhouzhou, Jiang Siya, Qin Yushang, and Qin Yuyan.

They stood on both sides of the room, each holding something in their hands: some held balloons, some held ribbons, some were recording videos on their phones, and some were holding wine glasses.

Jiang Siya stood at the front, clutching a bunch of ribbons in her hand. When she saw Yang Zhiyan come in, she winked at her.

Yang Zhiyan was taken aback for a moment, then she understood. She tightened her grip on Qin Yuzheng's hand a little.

Qin Yuzheng took a step forward and released her hand. He turned around, faced Yang Zhiyan, and knelt down on one knee.

He took a velvet box out of his pocket, dark blue in color, opened it, and inside was a ring.

This is not the same one as the last one; this one is larger and the diamond is brighter.

Qin Yuzheng spoke, his voice sincere and earnest, "My name is Qin Yuzheng, I am thirty-five years old, I don't smoke, I rarely drink, I don't gamble or visit prostitutes, and I have no bad habits."

He paused for a moment, then said, "After the marriage, the bank card will be handed over, and everything will be arranged by the organization. Please review."

The room fell silent for a moment. Then Mu Cheng laughed out loud, quickly covering his mouth.

Qiu Jinyi was trying so hard not to laugh that his shoulders were shaking. Qin Yuyan stood next to Qin Yushang, holding up her phone to record a video, a doting smile on her face.

How could anyone describe a marriage proposal in such a formal way?

Jiang Siya's hand, clutching the ribbon, trembled slightly, whether from the cold or from being moved, it was hard to tell.

Yang Zhiyan looked at him kneeling on one knee and heard his last words, "Please review." Her eyes instantly reddened.

He truly wanted to give her everything, including all his initiative.

She raised her hand and covered her mouth. Tears streamed down her face, soaking the back of her hand.

She was crying so hard she couldn't speak, and kept nodding.

Qin Yuzheng took the ring out of the box, grasped her left hand, and slowly pushed it onto her ring finger.

The ring was a bit heavier than the previous one, and the diamond on the band sparkled under the light.

He stood up and pulled her into his arms. His lips brushed against her ear, and he whispered, "From now on, you're my wife."

An uproar erupted in the crowd. Confetti was pulled at the same time, exploding in the air with loud "bang bang bang" sounds, and colorful confetti rained down from above.

Some people whistled, some clapped, and some shouted "Give me a kiss!"

Qin Yushang held up his phone and took a picture of his brother's red-rimmed eyes.

Qin Yuyan clapped her hands and jumped twice, but was stopped by Qin Yushang.

Jiang Siya threw away the ribbon in her hand, walked over and hugged Yang Zhiyan, whispering "Congratulations" in her ear, her voice choked with barely concealed sobs.

Let's have some fun and laughter together.

The New Year's countdown flickered on the television screen. Someone was shouting "Ten, nine, eight," the voices coming from different people, merging together like a silent torrent.

"Seven, six, five," Jiang Siya stepped back and stood in the crowd. Mu Chenli next to her was looking down at his phone. She pretended not to see him and instead focused her gaze on Yang Zhiyan and Qin Yuzheng.

"Four, three, two..."

"Happy New Year!" The voices of more than twenty people exploded in the room at the same time. Some raised their glasses, some whistled, and some opened champagne. The cork popped against the ceiling with a loud thud, and bubbles poured out of the bottle, spilling white foam all over the floor.

Yang Zhiyan stood in the middle of the crowd, with Qin Yuzheng's arm around her waist.
