Lou Fengyue gripped the golden rod, her fingers tightening slightly.

The A-level mutated tiger did not rush to attack; it waited for Lou Fengyue to reveal a weakness and for her to make the first move.

This beast was much smarter than those zombies that only knew how to pounce and bite; its scarlet eyes even carried a certain scrutinizing quality.

Lou Fengyue had dealt with mutated beasts countless times in the trials. This stalemate could not be dragged out for too long; the longer it dragged on, the more the opponent's patience would turn into a more ferocious attack.

In addition, hundreds of zombies are attacking Li Yichen and Luo Zeyan outside, and it is uncertain how long they can hold out.

Thinking of this, Lou Fengyue was moved.

Without probing or feinting, they moved with lightning speed.

Enveloped in wind-based superpowers, he shot straight at the mutated tiger's flank like an arrow released from a bow.

The golden cudgel drew a dark golden arc in the air, accompanied by a whooshing sound.

The mutated tiger reacted faster than she expected. Almost at the same instant she made her move, it used its four claws to spring away to the left.

The golden rod grazed its back, striking its stiff, needle-like fur with a crisp, metallic clang.

clang!

Lou Fengyue's hand went numb from the shock, and she almost dropped the golden rod.

Those silver needle-like hairs not only provide defense, but also reflect impact.

"Damn it." She cursed under her breath, rolling as she landed to create some distance.

Enraged by her blow, the mutated tiger let out a low roar that made the glass in the corridor vibrate.

It stopped retreating, pushed off with its hind legs, and pounced on her.

It moved so fast that it left only a blur.

Lou Fengyue dodged to the side, the sharp claws grazing her raincoat and tearing three slits in the fabric.

Before she could even look at the wound, she swung her stick and struck its hind leg.

The black lines on the golden rod suddenly lit up, the light flowing like an activated circuit.

boom!

The blow landed squarely on the mutated tiger's hind leg, causing it to howl in pain and pause for a moment.

Lou Fengyue seized the opportunity, leaped into the air, gripped the staff in both hands, and condensed lightning power.

Blue-white currents leaped wildly across the surface of the gold rod, mingling and intertwining with the black patterns, emitting a hissing sound.

She's going to smash that beast's head into a pulp!

But just as she was about to strike, her sensory abilities suddenly triggered an alarm—something was moving rapidly behind the wall to her side.

snake.

The mutated snake had been lurking in the next room, waiting for her to catch it off guard before launching its attack.

Lou Fengyue forcibly twisted her body in mid-air, causing the golden staff to temporarily change direction and swing to the side—

boom!

The golden cudgel struck a black snake as thick as a bowl, sending it flying sideways and crashing into a wall.

Seizing the opportunity, the mutated tiger pounced from below, opening its blood-red maw to bite at her waist and abdomen.

Lou Fengyue didn't have time to adjust her posture, so she kicked it in the jaw and used the recoil to flip backward, landing at the other end of the corridor.

She knelt on one knee, took a few quick breaths, and scanned the area in front of her with her eyes.

The mutated tiger was kicked back two steps, then shook its head, clearly indicating that the kick had not hit any vital organs.

The mutated snake she had smashed away had crawled out of the rubble and was now coiled in the middle of the corridor, its scarlet tongue flicking as it stared coldly at her.

A tiger and a snake, attacking from both sides.

Lou Fengyue stood up, stretched her wrists which were numb from the shock, and glanced back and forth between the golden rod and the two beasts.

She slung the golden rod over her shoulder, her tone as casual as if she were chatting with a stray cat or dog: "Two against one? You guys are quite something."

The mutated tiger let out a low growl and pawed at the ground with its front paws.

The mutated snake moved slowly, its body rubbing against the ground with a soft, rustling sound.

Lou Fengyue tilted her head and suddenly smiled.

Then, her figure disappeared from the spot and vanished into the shadows beneath her feet.

The mutated tiger and the mutated snake lost their target at the same time, and two pairs of scarlet eyes searched the empty corridor.

They can smell human scents, but the scents are elusive, as if torn apart by the wind.

"What are you looking for?"

A voice came from the shadows on the ceiling.

Both mutated beasts raised their heads at the same time.

Immediately afterwards, a baseball bat gleaming with a dark golden light descended from the sky, carrying a blinding blue-white electric current, and struck the mutated snake precisely at its vital spot.

The black patterns on the golden rod seemed to come alive, bursting out with a blinding light. The mutated snake let out a sharp hiss, its huge body convulsed a few times, and then it crashed to the ground and lay still.

Lou Fengyue descended from the shadows of the ceiling, stepped onto the snake, and ground her toes against the dull scales.

The mutated tiger took a step back.

The way it looked at her changed; fear finally appeared in its eyes.

Lou Fengyue pulled the golden staff off the snake and turned to the mutated tiger, her steps neither hurried nor slow.

"Your turn, little kitty."

After the battle in the dormitory building ended, Lou Fengyue picked up two crystal cores and put them in her pocket, as casually as if she had picked up two worthless seashells.

She hoisted the golden staff onto her shoulder and quickly walked to the window, preparing to go down and help Luo Zeyan.

But just then, they saw Luo Zeyan shoot out countless threads from his ten fingers, piercing the foreheads of different zombies.

With a gentle clench of his fist, the zombies' brains exploded, and in the blink of an eye, a large number of them collapsed.

After killing the last twenty or so, Li Yichen jumped off the platform and squatted in front of the pile of corpses, searching for crystal cores.

Luo Zeyan then took the walkie-talkie and held it to his lips: "The zombies downstairs have been cleared. Do you need any backup?"

Lou Fengyue did not reply, turned around, and slowly walked down the stairs.

Hundreds of zombie corpses lay scattered across the open ground, black blood pooling everywhere, and a strong, acrid smell filled the air.

"Have you finished collecting the crystal cores?" Lou Fengyue walked over and glanced at the corpses scattered on the ground.

Seeing her come out, Luo Zeyan finally put the walkie-talkie he had been holding back on his waist.

"We're still collecting them, you should rest for a bit." His gaze swept over her from head to toe, and finally he couldn't help but ask, "Are you injured?"

"No." Lou Fengyue took out a crystal core collector from her spatial storage and handed it over. "Use this; it's more efficient."

"Okay." Luo Zeyan took it and worked with Li Yichen to collect the crystal cores.

Lou Fengyue sat down against the wall and glanced down at the three tears on her clothes caused by the mutated tiger.

The wound was deeper and wider than before, and it smelled faintly of blood.

She skipped the disinfection step and used her healing powers to cover it. It healed in no time, leaving only a faint pink scar.

When Luo Zeyan and Li Yichen finished collecting all the crystal cores and turned back, Lou Fengyue had already put on a new raincoat.

"Not bad." Luo Zeyan waved the bulging cloth bag in his hand. "Keep it for now, we'll distribute it when we get back."

Lou Fengyue took the device and put it back into her spatial storage, along with the cloth bag. "There's another factory next door; I'll go clear it out. You guys figure out how to take the survivors away."

"Okay, take care of yourself. Contact me anytime if you need support."

"Um."

Watching the two walk away in the direction they came from, Lou Fengyue propped herself up and stood up, patting the dust off her pants.

A sudden, dull pain shot through her abdomen, causing her to stumble and barely manage to steady herself by leaning against the wall.

Take a deep breath, and slowly relax your furrowed brows.

Damn, that mutated tiger has a really hard head!
