Actually, this book should have ended with the finale of the first part.

However, I still felt it was a bit of a pity that I didn't reach two million words, so I added a small sequel.

Compared to the previous two books, I think the ending of this book is an improvement.

Every time I carefully prepare an outline and setting for a work, I often can't get it written or it doesn't get any attention, so I give up writing it.

On the contrary, what I wrote casually, without carefully creating a setting or outline, gained popularity and generated decent income, so I continued writing.

"Let the Doppelganger Fly for a While" is the book's popular title. A popular title refers to a book that has been renamed many times but is now called by the same name. Because Tomato has a book title test, it is common for a book to be renamed frequently. From now on, we will use "Doppelganger" to refer to this book.

"The Doppelganger" is a book I started writing without any detailed planning. In fact, at the time, some things happened in my family that required me to go to the hospital every day, so I didn't have much time to write. Therefore, I decided to write about online games, a genre that I had written on other platforms before and that was relatively easy to write.

It's easy to write, but as everyone who's read this far knows, the beginning is very formulaic (actually, if I may make a defense, although the beginning plot is a bit old-fashioned, I've already shown the beginning of the crazy, abstract, and humorous style of the middle part).

The beginning was too formulaic, which resulted in the book "The Doppelganger" performing very poorly and having a very low completion rate (the completion rate is the percentage of readers who have read 100,000, 200,000, or 300,000 words from the beginning. For example, a completion rate of 10% means that out of 100 readers, 10 people have read 100,000 words).

The completion rate of this book is so low that it has not even broken 20% after 100,000 words, and is struggling at around 19%.

In its debut, it was only 12%.

If you weren't writing a book, you probably wouldn't know how outrageous this result is.

Let's put it this way: anyone who isn't a complete novice would never attempt to write a book that only has 12% of the content.

I don't plan to write it myself.

But at the time, I was too busy with other things in life and didn't have the mood or energy to come up with new stories, so I just kept writing. Even if it was just to get some attendance bonus, it was better than having no income at all.

The turning point came when the story reached around 200,000 words.

After testing the title for the first time with 200,000 words, the title was changed from "Twelve Volumes of the Professional Ranking, Every Volume Has My Name" to "All My Doppelgangers Are Amusing People, He Believes, He Believes".

This new book title, paired with Huozi's cover, successfully piggybacked on the popularity of "The Mysterious Immortal of the Dao" (Long live Fox Tail!).

Many people think this is a work of fiction or has some elements of the Dao of Forgetfulness, and they come to read it because they like the Dao of Forgetfulness.

Although this clickbait title didn't significantly increase the completion rate, it did improve it somewhat.

The key is that this wave of new readers, combined with the readers accumulated before, has pushed the number of "followers" of this book to over 10,000.

I feel that 10,000 followers is a watershed moment in Tomato's programming. After reaching this number, the daily output of updates on Tomato becomes stable.

With a stable readership, the number of people reading this book naturally increased.

Although the completion rate still can't be improved, there's nothing we can do; the beginning can't be changed anymore.

Shortly after the first book review, I created our reader group, and many people joined one after another.

Our group has gradually expanded from a group of two thousand people to five groups.

I won't go into the stories from the group chat; there would be enough to tell for days and nights. I'll leave that to the talented people in the comments section.

It's worth mentioning that the phenomenon of forming cliques in our group is written into the book, specifically the various small factions within the bandits, which are concentrated in Chapter 337.

Despite such poor data and a meager daily income in the early stages, this book has managed to reach 1.7 million words. This is not only because the first book test brought in traffic, but more importantly, because we have been at the top of the donation charts for several consecutive months!
