Transmigrating into Haotian, ruling the Three Pure Ones and pacifying the primordial world.

Chapter 388 The Heavenly Emperor's Punishment and Reward, Duobao's Arrogant Words

"Your Majesty." Jieyin looked stunned, unable to even manage a smile, as if his eyes had lost their sparkle.

Bodhi knelt down: "Your Majesty, we naturally will not interfere in the conflict between Buddhism and Taoism, but Maitreya and Medicine Master cannot leave empty-handed!"

"I haven't finished speaking yet, and you keep interrupting me. This is not good, not good at all!" Haotian said calmly. Jieyin and Zhunti's expressions changed slightly, and they quickly apologized.

"Taiqing, without the Emperor's decree, privately obstructed others from having an audience; his crime shall be punished."

"Your Majesty, I know my crime." Laozi knelt down directly without offering any explanation.

After all, he thought that the Heavenly Emperor had always favored Taoism, so even if his actions were somewhat outrageous, His Majesty would let it go leniently.

In hindsight, it was a miscalculation!

"Since you enjoy preaching, then stay in the Heavenly Court and preach for ten thousand years afterward," Haotian glanced at him indifferently. "You, in your true form, will come personally."

Lao Tzu's face was bitter: "Your subject obeys the Emperor's decree."

Yuanshi Tongtian looked reluctant, but dared not plead for mercy. Fortunately, his elder brother stopped Jieyin Bodhi by preaching. If he had taken action, His Majesty would probably have already pointed at him.

This is blocking channels of communication!

This would be a grave crime even among humans!

As the founder of Legalism, he naturally understood its significance.

In the mortal realm, if one has no way to submit a memorial to the emperor, it will lead to extremely serious consequences, let alone the fact that the elder brother has stopped two saints.

If the immortals knew that His Majesty had tacitly approved this, wouldn't that be tantamount to placing the Heavenly Emperor on the side of Taoism?

"I know you made Duobao do so much in order to keep him in the position of Buddhist leader forever, but since you acted in secret, I have no choice but to punish you."

Haotian looked at the tense expressions of the Three Pure Ones and the expectant look on the face of the Bodhisattva Amitabha, and couldn't help but chuckle, "Maitreya was once the chief disciple of the Western Sect, so we can't just discard him like a worn-out shoe."

"Brother Jieyin has agreed to Duobao taking over Buddhism, right?"

Jieyin sighed softly and nodded bitterly. Now that things had come to this, he could only agree; he could not accept the outcome of Buddhism splitting apart.

"When Duobao took over Buddhism, Dipankara abdicated, and Duobao became known as the Buddha of the past, while Duobao became known as the Buddha of the present."

Haotian looked at Jieyin and said, word by word, "What do you think of the future Maitreya Buddha?"

"Your Majesty, are you referring to the Three Buddhas?" Jieyin murmured. "Now that Dipankara Buddha has abdicated and Prabhutaratna has taken over Mount Sumeru, it will be the time for Maitreya to preside over Buddhism after he abdicates."

In other words, Maitreya is equivalent to the prince of Buddhism!

only……

With the Three Pure Ones still alive, how could Duobao possibly abdicate?

"When Shakyamuni enters Nirvana, it will be the time for the future Buddha to take charge of Buddhism." Haotian's voice was long and drawn out, as if it came from the river of time, causing the Three Pure Ones to change their expressions drastically.

The Bodhi and the Bodhisattva looked at each other, their eyes full of confusion. Even Yaochi frowned. How could this be? If Duobao had taken over Buddhism, he would not have been far from attaining enlightenment. How could he have entered Nirvana?

"What does Your Majesty mean by this?" Tongtian's voice was hoarse, filled with disbelief.

"Buddhism has its own cause and effect," Haotian replied indifferently. As the leader of a religion, he naturally had to bear the consequences.

The ancestral temple of Buddhism is Mount Sumeru. Perhaps even the Bodhisattva Amitabha has forgotten the first master of this mountain!

Haotian did not wish to explain too much; they would understand when the immeasurable calamity arrived.

"Taiqing, since you are obstructing the Amitabha Buddha because of Buddhist matters, I have no choice but to side with you." Haotian ignored the changes in the Three Pure Ones' expressions and continued, "Since we have established the Three Buddhas of the Vertical World, we must also have the Three Buddhas of the Horizontal World."

The Bodhi of Amitabha showed a joyful expression and thanked his senior brother Taiqing for the generous gift.

"Shakyamuni Buddha resides in the Saha Pure Land in the center, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha resides in the Pure Land of Lapis Lazuli in the east, and Amitabha Buddha resides in the west. Brother Jieyin can go and create the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss on his own."

Bodhi was stunned for a moment, then immediately kowtowed: "Thank you, Your Majesty."

The Medicine Buddha was his first disciple, who could become one of the Three Buddhas and enjoy considerable fortune. He thought he could only be a carefree Buddha.

Jieyin remained somewhat silent; he hadn't expected to be involved.

Among Buddhist disciples, those who were formerly followers of the Western Sect, though nominally under the leadership of Dipankara Buddha, secretly obeyed his orders, but that was all.

He could only give orders in secret, because publicly he had been stripped of his status by the combined forces of the Three Pure Ones and Indra, and now the Heavenly Emperor had given him the opportunity to openly intervene in Buddhism.

This time, Taiqing truly crossed the Heavenly Emperor's bottom line; otherwise, His Majesty would not have disrespected the Three Pure Ones so much.

Yaochi shook her head slightly as she watched this scene. Sure enough, her senior brother wouldn't handle things lightly.

"Alright." Haotian waved his hand. "This matter is settled. I don't care how you bargain in private, but this is what I have decided."

"Yes, Your Majesty, we will obey your decree." The five men bowed and slowly took their seats.

"Brother Yuanshi, shouldn't we ask Guanyin and the others to step aside?" Jieyin pointed at the water mirror, where the three were still confronting Maitreya and the Medicine Master.

Laozi gave a light hum, and with a thought, Li Er, riding his green ox westward, waved his whisk, and Cihang and the other two hurried towards Duobao's place.

Bodhi breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this, and watched the two enter Mount Sumeru. After a moment of silence, he said, "This humble Taoist no longer concerns himself with Buddhist affairs. I am grateful to Your Majesty for establishing the various Buddhas this time. If different sects emerge in the future, it will be somewhat detrimental to the development of Buddhism."

He looked at the Three Pure Ones: "Shakyamuni is about to attain enlightenment, and I cannot help but offer my opinion."

After saying that, he threw the whisk in his hand, which passed through the void and landed on the Western Continent in the blink of an eye, taking root directly beside Duobao. A Bodhi tree that was a thousand feet tall slowly rose up.

Boundless Daoist charm descended, carrying golden runes into Duobao's mind, causing his wisdom and inspiration to flash continuously. Meanwhile, a fierce golden cicada on the Bodhi tree also opened its mouth and sang, which was very much in harmony with the Bodhi Daoist charm.

"A sixteen-foot-tall golden body!" Haotian looked at Bodhi in surprise. "You're quite generous."

Seeing that Tongtian was also looking over, Bodhi smiled calmly: "Shakyamuni will be in charge of Buddhism for who knows how long. His travels in the three thousand worlds represent the face of Buddhism. This is the only supernatural power I can pass on to him."

This is to show that Duobao's entry into Buddhism was agreed upon by them, and that it would not cause any discord within Buddhism.

"Thank you, fellow Daoist." Tongtian cupped his hands in thanks, his expression complex.

Bodhi nodded slightly, acknowledging the gesture.

After forty-nine days, Duobao, who was sitting under the Bodhi tree, suddenly opened his eyes. He had no trace of murderous or imposing aura. His face was filled with the gentle compassion that had been mellowed by time. His gaze could encompass all the sins and suffering in the world. When he spoke, his voice was like a Buddhist bell, which could calm the anger and attachment of all beings.

The Bodhi tree continuously cast down Buddhist light. Duobao stood up, and his Taoist robe gradually turned into a golden-red monk's robe. His eyebrows and eyes became more gentle, with only the crimson light between his eyebrows becoming more vivid.

He then took seven steps in each of the four directions: east, south, west, and north. With each step, a seven-jeweled lotus flower the size of a cartwheel naturally emerged from beneath his feet to support his body. With each step, the pressure emanating from him increased, and his cultivation level also rose by one level.

Human Immortal, Earth Immortal, Celestial Immortal, True Immortal, Mysterious Immortal, Golden Immortal, Taiyi Golden Immortal, Daluo Golden Immortal, Quasi-Saint.

As they sensed his aura rise to the peak of Quasi-Saint, Cihang and the others smiled, and the Three Pure Ones in Longde Palace also looked pleased.

Boundless Buddha light spread throughout the Western world, curing countless diseases in humans. The Buddha light also entered the underworld, relieving the suffering of even the souls of the dead.

With a smile on his lips and a gentle gaze, Shakyamuni looked at Mount Sumeru, pointing one finger to the sky and the other to the earth, his lion's roar resounding throughout the three realms: "Above and below heaven, I alone am the honored one."

The entire primordial world was quiet for a moment, and then ripples began to spread in the void. All the divine thoughts that had been watching Shakyamuni's enlightenment were drawn away one by one, and blood splattered on us.

"How dare you!" A furious shout echoed from the void, and space began to shatter like a mirror.
