three days later.

12 p.m.

The old wharf in the east of the city.

It's deathly still here.

The warehouse complex, abandoned for many years, lies on the boundless seashore, like a group of lurking beasts.

The sea breeze howled, carrying a sweet, fishy smell, and made the rusty cranes and dilapidated containers groan.

Thick, dark clouds filled the sky, the moon was barely visible, and only a few searchlights, almost extinguished, illuminated the entire dock with their dim yellow glow.

Qian Chongwen walked at the front, his legs trembling.

Behind him followed a woman wrapped in a trench coat, her head bowed. Her name was Lin Yuqing, a female member of the Lin family's security team who looked similar to him. From a distance, she looked exactly like Lin Yuqing herself.

Behind her followed two "attendants." However, they were actually Zhou Laowang's men, all highly skilled!

With every step Qian Chongwen took, his heart pounded in his throat.

He knew that tonight, if he stepped out and landed on the left, he could catch his breath a few more times. But if he landed on the right, no matter which side attacked, he would be the first one to be eliminated.

Sweat dripped down my back, drop by drop.

Ye Feng did not show up.

He and Shen Yu had sneaked into the dark area around the dock two hours earlier.

Hidden in the shadow of a crane on the east side, and lurking in the gap between containers on the west side, the two men kept a close eye on the entire dock handover area.

Two hours passed, and Ye Feng remained motionless.

The sea breeze rushed into his collar, chilling him to the bone, but even his breathing became very light, like a cheetah waiting for its chance to pounce.

Fishing requires patience.

The bait has been placed, and the fishing rod has sunk. Now all that's left is to wait for the fish to bite.

"They're here," Ye Feng said in a low voice.

The headset beeped, and a group of people walked out of the warehouse.

Ye Feng's eyes, which had seen countless battles, immediately recognized that these people were not ordinary martial arts masters. Their lower bodies were extremely stable, and their aura was very well concealed.

The cleaning staff hired by the employer were definitely not ordinary people.

The leader was a middle-aged man in a black trench coat. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were sharp like an eagle's. He swept over Qian Chongwen and the others before finally landing on "Lin Yuqing".

That gaze lingered for a long time, cold and ruthless.

This look suggests that the person is trying to determine if they are worth pursuing.

"The owner's cleaner." Ye Feng's eyes flashed.

This is the new purser sent to Dongyang after the owner abandoned Tianheng. This person is more composed and cunning than Zhao Hui. From Volume 1 until now, he has been the one who orchestrated all the dirty work behind the scenes in Dongyang's series of capital attacks, hired thugs, and media attacks. He has been hiding deep underwater for so long, and today he has finally been caught.

"Goods?" the cleaner asked.

His voice was a little hoarse and devoid of any emotion.

"I...I brought it." Qian Chongwen feigned composure and stepped aside. "Miss Lin is right here. Is the helper the employer promised ready?"

He genuinely wanted to know if the help his employer had promised was truly ready, and he was also testing Ye Feng.

The cleaner didn't answer, he just raised his chin slightly.

This slight gesture of "raising the chin" reveals a cold indifference born of long-held superiority. In the other person's eyes, Qian Chongwen is not even as good as a human being.

Immediately, the two jumped out and walked towards "Lin Yuqing" to verify her identity up close.

Ye Feng used this double because he knew that the boss's "cleaning people" tactics were to strangle you through the capitalist road and the city route of hiring thugs to blockade, rather than understanding those hidden worldly skills such as sensing pure yin energy. To verify his identity, he could only take a close look.

Even so, that was the most dangerous moment. Once they got close, the female team member's vulnerability couldn't be concealed for more than three seconds.

In the shadows, Ye Feng's fingers were already tightly hooked together.

What he wanted was not to fool this verification.

What he wanted was a fish that was cleaning people up, the moment its entire head was exposed.

"Make your move!" he said with a sneer.

Suddenly, more than a dozen bright lights lit up all around the dock!

The Lin family's security personnel, who had been lying in ambush, the skilled men under Old Master Zhou's command, and the helpers that Su Man had found, all poured out simultaneously from the boxes, under the crane, and on the roof of the warehouse, surrounding the cleanup workers. The bright light blinded them, and they were instantly scattered and thrown into chaos.

The lifeless dock was suddenly filled with a cacophony of footsteps and shouts; a net that had been laid out long ago was suddenly pulled in.

"There's an ambush!" the cleaner shouted, reacting quickly as he rushed in and hid inside the warehouse.

He was a long-time employee of the company, and at this point, he wouldn't show any panic; his first thought was to run outside.

But along his escape route, a straight figure had already appeared.

Ye Feng emerged from the darkness of the crane, strolling leisurely with his hands in his pockets, and grinned roguishly, "So eager? The backup hasn't arrived yet."

The cleaner's pupils constricted, and he glared at him, saying, "Ye Feng! The letter is fake! You set this up on purpose!"

"Smart," Ye Feng grinned. "Unfortunately, a little too late."

The man in charge of the cleanup was ashen-faced. He was a veteran of the company, so he was still able to remain calm. He reached into his clothes and found a signal flare, preparing to launch it into the sky. As soon as he sent out the signal, the strongholds hidden in other parts of Dongyang would immediately notice and leave overnight, thus escaping a large number of people from his net.

He was ruthless and impatient, willing to sacrifice his own life to protect his employer's home.

"Want to deliver a message?" Ye Feng's eyes turned cold.

In an instant, a sharp gust of wind swept in from the shadows to the west. It was Shen Yu. He was very fast. He grabbed the man's wrist and locked it. The signal flare slipped from his hand and fell to the ground without making a sound.

In that instant, it was too fast. Shen Yu's speed perfectly matched the pulse of the Cleaner's move, as if he had calculated the Cleaner's move beforehand.

"Too late." Shen Yu said in a low voice, then grabbed the arm of the person cleaning up and twisted it, pressing it directly to the ground.

The man who was cleaning the room groaned in pain, but a vicious glint flashed deep in his eyes. He stopped moving and instead smiled strangely.

When he laughs, it's like a venomous snake whose vital spot has been stepped on; even though there's no way to escape, it still flashes a mouthful of venomous fangs.

"Dr. Ye, tell me, do you think you can leave Dongyang just because I wiped out this one place tonight?" He looked up, staring at Ye Feng, and said, word by word, "Your boss has deep roots in Dongyang! Just wait and see, you may be able to take down one of my places tonight, but you'll never find my boss's main base in Dongyang!"

He said these words partly to scare Ye Feng and partly to tempt him, making him fearful and lose his composure!

Ye Feng looked at him, but was not affected at all; his expression remained unchanged.

Because he had seen too many tough guys like this. The toughness on their lips was never the point; what mattered was the weakness in their hearts.

"Can you find it or not?" Ye Feng squatted down, reached into the man's arms and pulled out a communicator, waving it in front of him. "What I want to see isn't how ruthless you are! No matter how fierce you are, you're more panicked than anyone else!"

The feigned ruthlessness on the person's face crumbled almost instantly.

He now realized that the thing he should have protected most when he was grabbed was not whether he could escape, but the boss behind him—his main base!

Unfortunately, it was too late.

"Alright," Ye Feng stood up, holding the communicator that had been found, and waved it in front of him. His smile was as cold as ice. He said, "The next step is to follow this lead and find your 'boss' who is hiding in the deepest part of the organization."
