Chapter 75 The Legendary Three Witches
A row of flowering trees lined the edge of the playground, their blossoms in full bloom. Pink and white petals were blown down by the wind, carpeting the ground with tiny specks of color.
Three girls were standing under the tree.
Primula leaned against a tree trunk, her blue side ponytail hanging down from her shoulder, her light purple eyes half-closed, and a smile that looked anything but good hanging on the corner of her mouth.
She was holding a cup of black tea that she had taken from the teachers' lounge. The tea had gone cold, but she was too lazy to change it, since she wasn't paying attention to drinking it anyway.
"There are more people this year than last year."
Primula said, pointing with the rim of her cup to the crowded playground in the distance.
"The number of applicants for elemental magic has reached a new high. My exam room was almost full. One little witch was so nervous that she drank water and soaked her exam paper."
Did you help her?
Violet, standing to her left, asked casually.
"I burned her exam paper and told the higher-ups that I had accidentally burned it, and that I could just get another copy."
Primula smiled.
Violet did not say anything more.
She had long, silvery-white hair that reached her waist, gleaming with a cool sheen in the shadow of the flowering trees, and her deep gray eyes were like two blocks of clear ice.
Standing to Primula's right is Hiesta.
With short pink hair and slightly curled ends, her bright, peach-pink eyes scanned the crowd on the playground like those of a cat searching for prey.
She deliberately bought a size too big for her psychic robe, with sleeves so long they covered her entire hands. The sleeves swayed as she walked, which she found quite cute.
"Hey, hey, hey, look over there, the one in the third row of the elemental magic line, the one with the twin ponytails."
Suddenly, Hiesta grabbed Primra's sleeve and tugged at it several times, her voice filled with the excitement of discovering a treasure.
"Her eyes are so beautiful, a vibrant green! And her nose is gorgeous too! She just sneezed, and the expression she made afterward was absolutely adorable!"
"You do this every year."
Violet didn't turn her head.
"Because there are super cute little witches every year!"
Hiesta didn't think there was anything wrong with her at all.
Primula took a sip of her cooled black tea, her gaze casually sweeping over the crowd on the playground.
Her gaze lingered on the alchemy department's meeting point for a moment, where a little witch with an orange ponytail was squatting on the ground examining a potion bottle. Her movements were efficient and skillful, suggesting she was quite adept.
She then looked towards the summoning area, where a girl with long, dark purple hair was being surrounded by a group of freshmen asking her questions; she was probably a volunteer senior.
Then her gaze continued to move, sweeping over elemental magic, mechanical magic, and necromancy—
Then it stopped.
"Um?"
Primula took the teacup away from her lips, her light purple eyes widening slightly.
"Is someone under that flag of flesh and blood magic?"
Violet turned her head.
Hiesta also stopped looking at the twin-tailed little witch and followed Primura's gaze.
In the southeast corner of the playground, near the glowing vine wall, stands a dark red flag.
The flag was embroidered with a blooming red flower in black silk thread, the symbol of the Flesh and Blood Magic profession, exactly the same as the one Bie Chenye wore on his head.
This flag has stood on the playground of Moon Forest for several years, and it always appears on time for every school test, but there is never any space under the flag.
Freshmen would occasionally glance at the major out of curiosity as they passed by, only to be pulled away by their companions. No one had applied for that major for several years, and they heard there was only one teacher, who lived in the back of the mountain.
But now two witches are standing under the flag.
A slender young girl with long, jet-black hair, wearing a dark blue robe, and a vibrant red flower in her hair.
She stood next to the flagpole, her posture somewhat stiff, clearly not used to so many people on the playground at the same time, but she was trying to remain calm.
Her deep purple eyes would occasionally glance to the side to make sure the little one beside her was still there.
Standing next to him was a little witch who was less than 1.5 meters tall.
She had short, light blonde hair with slightly upturned ends, her windbreaker zipped up to her chin, and her backpack straps were gripped tightly.
There were too many and too many eyes on us. Freshmen from other majors were whispering among themselves, senior female students passing by turned around for a second look, and a few bold ones had already taken out their phones, pretending to take pictures of the scenery but actually pointing the camera in our direction.
She clearly noticed those gazes, and her face flushed instantly, her fingers squeezing the backpack straps until they were deformed.
Unable to bear it any longer, she reached out and took off the large hat from Bie Chenye's head, then put it on her own.
The brim of the hat was too big, completely covering her face, leaving only a light golden hair and two bright red ear tips visible.
Bie Chenye was stunned when her hat was snatched away. She looked down at her, her lips twitched, but she didn't say anything. She just took another half step closer to her and blocked part of her view with her body.
"Alive?"
Primula said in an incredulous tone.
"Small and cute."
Hiesta added that her peach-colored eyes were already locked on the little one in the hat, her pupils shining with a light that only appears when she sees something extremely cute.
"I'm going to die, I can't take it anymore, it's so cute, I really can't stand it."
"You don't have to reread it so many times."
Violet was speechless.
Because Hiesta tugged at Violet's sleeve every time she repeated a word, the once neat cuffs were now creased.
"Ye actually brought the students here personally."
Primula placed the empty teacup on the edge of the flower bed, crossed her arms over her chest, and smiled even more broadly than before.
"I thought she planned to live in that dilapidated wooden house in the back hill until she retired. The dean personally called her to invite her to the last teachers' conference, but she didn't come."
"Ye wasn't like this when he was young."
Violet spoke in a calm tone, but Primula detected a subtle hint of nostalgia in her voice.
What was she like when she was young?
Hiesta asked.
"A young woman could defeat you in an instant with the flick of a finger."
No sooner had Violet finished speaking than Hiesta strode toward the flag of the Flesh and Blood Magic major.
"Where are you going?"
Violet frowned.
"Let's go get to know them!"
Hiesta turned around, her peach-colored eyes wide open, her expression saying, "Is that even a question?"
"I can't hold back anymore, I have to go and say a few words to her, just a few words, and if I can get a WW while I'm at it, that would be great."
Primula and Violet exchanged a glance and sighed with their eyes.
Violet straightened her wrinkled sleeves expressionlessly, while Primura shrugged and followed.
Unlike Hiesta, who was simply blinded by cuteness, she was genuinely curious about what was so special about the student who could make Bie Chenye come out of the back mountain.
