Mr. Dragon Knight, the dragon girls are chasing you!

Chapter 143 A Temperamental Older Woman vs. a Gentle Mother

The long corridor leading to the inner palace is built beneath the lake and is entirely paved with transparent crystal, with huge, ever-flowing water curtains on both sides.

The clear lake water flows gently around you, colorful luminous jellyfish float leisurely, schools of agile fish dart about, and dappled sunlight filters through the water, turning the entire corridor into a flowing, dreamy pale blue.

Ignis walked underwater, her feet on a transparent crystal floor. The air around her was moist and cool, completely different from the dry and hot climate of her territory, making her scales feel uncomfortable.

I never feel comfortable in this awful place.

But Wendina seemed completely oblivious to her discomfort, her fingers gently clasping her wrist, her steps neither fast nor slow, occasionally glancing at the schools of fish on both sides of the corridor, as if she were taking a stroll.

Ignis glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, and a surge of anger rose within her again.

This woman will always be like this.

Even if the sky falls, she remains calm; even if her eyebrows are on fire, she stays composed. She is always gentle and tolerant, always slow and methodical. No matter how irritable, impatient, or easily angered she is, the other person is like an elder patiently coaxing a grumpy child, steadily catching all her anger.

Seriously... this is infuriating!

Passing through layers of underwater corridors where light and shadow flowed, Wendina led her all the way to the private tea room at the deepest part of the inner palace.

This tea room is small, but it is as exquisite as a seashell in an underwater palace.

The four walls are made of whole pieces of polished, top-grade light blue deep-sea crystal, with translucent and semi-transparent crystal surfaces.

Outside the crystal wall, countless spirit fish swam and darted about leisurely. Every now and then, a few curious little fish would approach the crystal wall, their round eyes curiously observing the interior of the tea room. They would sway their light tails and then slowly turn around and swim away.

The indoor lighting is soft, without any glaring bright light, only the faint skylight penetrating through the water curtain, gentle enough to soothe any hostility.

As soon as Ignis entered, she couldn't be bothered to maintain a dignified demeanor and plopped down on the cold crystal stool.

With his long legs casually crossed, his fingertips, seemingly carrying faint sparks, tapped the smooth crystal tabletop irritably, producing a crisp, tinkling sound. His entire being exuded impatience.

Wendina was already used to this, so she let Wendina throw a tantrum while she slowly walked to the antique and exquisite crystal tea table.

The tea table was designed to fit the height of an adult human, and for Wendina, who was 1.45 meters tall, reaching for the tea canister was a bit of a struggle.

She tiptoed, her waist slightly stretched and lifted, her fair and slender arms stretching upwards with all her might, her fingertips barely brushing the edge of the top tea canister, just a little short of touching it. Her small figure exuded a clumsy yet adorable sense of embarrassment.

This adorable, struggling look caused Ignis's lips to twitch uncontrollably, her anger subsiding slightly.

"Laugh at me if you want."

Wendina didn't turn her head, her tone as gentle as if she were coaxing a child, calm and composed.

"Anyway, every time you come, you secretly laugh at me, and after you've laughed enough, you casually help me get that blue tea canister on the top shelf."

Ignis rolled her eyes, got up, took the jar from the top shelf, slammed it on the tea table, then sat back down and crossed her legs. The whole process was done in one smooth motion, her face clearly saying, "I didn't mean to help you, I just thought you were too slow."

Wendina took in her little act of saying one thing but meaning another, a gentle smile quietly curving her lips. She didn't point out her awkwardness, and quietly lowered her head to arrange the tea set.

Her slender, fair fingers picked up a small pinch of dark blue tea leaves and placed them into a crystal teapot.

The next second, a faint blue light appeared on her palm, and the warm water-based dragon energy transformed into a thin stream that flowed into the pot.

A moment later, the aroma of tea rose gently, carrying the unique crispness of the deep sea and a faint sweetness, flowing slowly through the tea room.

The fragrance was exceptionally soothing, like a gentle, clear evening breeze caressing the rocks of the deep sea, with a calming effect that made Ignis's tense nerves relax a little.

She subconsciously took a deep breath, and the suffocating feeling in her chest, which had been filled with the dry, hot air from high altitudes for days, completely dissipated. The dryness and heat in her throat also subsided considerably, and she finally felt a little more comfortable.

"Drink it."

Wendina's soft voice rang out as she gently pushed a crystal teacup filled with tea toward Ignis. Her movements were elegant and composed, exuding the aura of a dragon king, a stark contrast to Ignis's delicate and youthful appearance.

After doing all this, she held her own teacup in both hands and sat obediently opposite Ignis.

Her legs couldn't even touch the ground. She swayed a couple of times before finding a comfortable sitting position, then gently swayed her slender ankles a couple of times, quiet and gentle.

Ignis picked up the teacup, her scarlet eyes filled with reluctance, and took a small sip with her lips pursed.

The warm tea slid down her throat, with a cool aftertaste that perfectly neutralized the restless and fiery spiritual energy within her, completely easing her tense mind after many days.

Wendina sat opposite Ignis, holding a teacup in both hands, looking at her gently with her blue eyes and a faint smile on her lips, without in a hurry to speak.

She knows her younger sister too well.

She's straightforward, short-tempered, arrogant, stubborn but soft-hearted, and can't keep things to herself. The more she holds it in, the more uncomfortable she feels. If given enough quiet space, she'll eventually break down and speak up.

Sure enough, the silence didn't last more than a few seconds before the impatient Ignis broke down first.

"...Alright, alright, stop staring at me like that! I'll tell you, okay?!"

With a sudden thud, she slammed the teacup onto the crystal tabletop. The crisp sound of the clinking was particularly loud in the quiet tea room, and a few drops of tea splashed down the sides of the cup onto the polished surface.

Wendina's expression remained unchanged. She simply raised her hand slightly, and a wisp of water rose out of thin air with a flash of light at her fingertips, absorbing all the scattered tea.

Ignis took a deep breath, suppressing the complex emotions surging within her, and finally slowly began to speak, recounting that past event from many years ago.

"About ten years ago, I picked up a human brat while wandering around the border of the Fire Dragon Clan's territory."

Wendina held the warm teacup, her clear blue eyes blinking gently, her tone still slow and leisurely:

"The border of the Fire Dragon Clan's territory? That's a desolate place filled with lava and flowing magma. Ordinary people would be roasted to a crisp just by getting close to the border."

"You mean, an ordinary human brat could walk into your territory alive?"
