Morpheus and his group did not linger.

Before they parted, Lin Gui stopped them and asked them two questions.

He first asked about methods to avoid the spirit demon.

Because he noticed that there was no "guide" in Morpheus's group.

"What do you rely on to dispel the demons inside the walls?" Lin Gui asked directly.

Morpheus made no attempt to conceal anything, taking out a small leather pouch from his pocket.

Untying the rope revealed several sections of dark red, almost black, thorny spikes that seemed to still be throbbing slightly.

They exuded a strong ominous aura, and... the oppressive aura of powerful spirit lords.

"Part of Lord Bloodthorn's remains."

Morpheus explained.

"Carrying it can dispel most of the weaker spirit demons."

Lin Gui understood instantly.

This principle is similar to carrying epic dragon scales in the wilderness to intimidate lower-level demons.

However, obtaining a "part" from an epic spirit demon is far more difficult than obtaining materials from a living epic creature.

Most of these were left behind by Gu Xin.

There was indeed some special connection between that demon king and the "Bloodthorn" that guarded the entrance to Avalon.

Morpheus was very generous; he picked out two thorns with the strongest aura and in perfect condition and handed them to Lin Gui.

"Here, take this. You might find it useful."

Lin Gui did not refuse, and accepted it after thanking him.

Although he possesses the Eyes of the Underworld, he doesn't really need this item.

However, this is indeed an extremely rare material for soul magic, which will greatly benefit his future study of deeper soul magic.

The magic rewards from the system are good, but they are all at the beginner level.

To achieve a breakthrough, the number of letters needed to be delivered is still a long way off.

Now that Shea is no longer by my side, Eve is also about to leave.

He does indeed face a severe lack of offensive capabilities.

Suppressing a faint sigh rising in his heart, Lin Gui asked the second question.

"Do you know someone named 'Moro Troy'?"

"He is a resident of Avalon and asked me to deliver a message to Blackwater."

Morpheus was taken aback by what he heard, frowned and pondered for a moment, then shook his head.

"I don't remember."

He looked at the wise man, Kylian.

Killian stroked his beard, pondered for a few seconds, and said with great certainty:

"There is no such person as Avalon."

"I remember the name of every resident, including the deceased."

"It's impossible for something to go wrong."

Lin Gui nodded and didn't ask any further questions.

He was just curious; he didn't necessarily need to find the sender.

He had long been impressed by the fox clan's memory—a former fox-person companion's detailed account reporting, down to the copper coin, had left a deep impression on him.

The moment of farewell.

Morpheus looked at Lin Gui, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke:

"Would you... like to come with us to the Silent Abyss?"

"I think Lord Guxin would be very happy to see you, this little mage who has surprised us so much."

Ruger and Killian behind him looked slightly surprised, but did not object.

Lin Gui shook his head with a wry smile.

"Sorry, I still have a letter to deliver."

His refusal was expected; Morpheus had only mentioned it casually.

However, Ash, the legendary assassin who had always been silent, suddenly stepped forward.

His sharp gaze scrutinized Lin Gui as he slowly spoke:

"Based on the abilities you just demonstrated..."

"I believe you can cross the Blackwater Corridor, reach the frontier, and deliver Avalon's message."

"When the post office first opened, I heard that a high-ranking mage wanted to help people deliver mail, but I just thought it was a rumor."

He paused, looking at Lin Gui.

"But now..."

"I was mistaken."

"Actually, I also have a letter I want to send. The location is a bit far, so I was planning to ask the transport team to do it later."

"If you're willing to take it, I'll pay you."

Lin Gui became interested.

"Where to send it?"

Ash uttered three words:

"Dawn City".

"The Assassin's Court"

"Deliver it to Grand Instructor Xiu of the Assassin's Court."

[Ding! Additional commission updated!]

[Content: Deliver Ash's letter to Dawn City, Assassin's Court, Ash]

[Route: Planning will begin after the host confirms the start of the mission]

[Time Limit: None]

[Reward: One random special spell]

[Risk Warning: The Grand Master Xiu has a fiery temper. Please be careful and avoid stepping on his landmines, or you'll be publicly shamed and warned.]

Lin Gui looked at the last line, "Risk Warning," and couldn't help but twitch his lips.

Hanging naked on the city wall? What the hell?!

It feels so scary.

He looked at Ashu and asked.

"You and that great mentor 'cultivated'..."

Ash was silent for a moment before speaking calmly:

"I am his good-for-nothing son."

He didn't say anything more, but simply handed Lin Gui a black metal token that felt cold to the touch and had an antique design.

The token is about the size of a palm and has slight wear on the edges.

The front is engraved with a dagger pattern piercing through the shadows, while the back features a sharp "修" (xiu) character.

It feels solid to the touch, and subtly exudes a sense of solemnity.

Eve, standing beside her, seemed to suddenly remember something.

Her purple eyes widened slightly as she looked at Ash:

"You...you're that 'Shura'?"

"The Assassin who assassinated the previous council president, slaughtered the Demon Hunter squad, and caused the Assassin's Court riot... Shura."

Ash simply twitched the corner of his mouth.

They neither admitted nor denied it.

It was as if the infamous reputation that stirred up a storm in the outside world was nothing more than a gentle breeze to him.

He then took something off his waist and handed it to Lin Gui.

It was a dagger, very small and exquisite.

The sheath was made of plain black leather, without any decoration.

Upon closer inspection, the blade was dull and devoid of any magical energy; it appeared utterly unremarkable.

"This is the reward, Gray Dagger."

"Made from meteorite iron."

Ash explained.

"Forged by a long-deceased master craftsman, it is exceptionally sharp."

"It cannot be attached to any energy, but on its own..."

"Enough to cut through an unactivated Star-level armor."

"In other words, even a commoner with no training can use it to cut through Star-level armor."

He paused.

"It is said that there are only ten of these daggers in the entire continent of Akara."

"Useless against top assassins, but against you..."

For once, Ash's usually indifferent face showed a faint, yet strangely meaningful smile.

"At least, next time your two beautiful companions 'kidnap' you and try to force themselves on you..."

"You can't even cut the rope they prepared."

Lin Gui was instantly dumbfounded: "...How did you know???"

Eve, standing to the side, added in a flat, emotionless tone:

"It was probably spread by some demon who broke into someone else's house without permission."

Morpheus, standing to the side, coughed awkwardly twice, his eyes darting around.

"Ahem... well... it's just that what you guys did was a bit outrageous..."

Lin Gui: "..."

I reckon this guy talked to more than just Ash.

estimate.......

The whole of Avalon already knows about this.

It seems that Xia really will have to hide at home and not dare to see anyone for half a year.

He silently accepted Ash's dagger and token.

This signifies that the commission has been officially accepted.

Although Dawn City is ridiculously far away, even farther than the City of a Thousand Towers.

However, there is no time limit for additional commissions.

Send it slowly.

Morpheus thanked Lin Gui sincerely at the end, and then did not linger any longer.

He turned around and exchanged glances with Ruger, Killian, and Ash.

The four shouldered their packs and hurried away towards the deeper, more desolate fog to the north.

The figure quickly disappeared among the ruins of Blackwater City.

Lin Gui withdrew his gaze and looked at the letter in his hand from "Moro Troy".

Then I looked at the new commission in the system that pointed to the distant Dawn City.

Exhale gently.

"It's time for us to set off."

He said to Eve beside him.

The flying boat vanished into thin air, and the oak staff floated before my eyes.

Mounting his staff and taking Eve with him, Lin Gui began flying toward the address destined for Blackwater City.
