I chose the safe house, and the Human Alliance regretted it.

Chapter 325 is all about the Lord of this Realm.

"The new realm lord?"

A hint of surprise flashed in Wang Wei's eyes.

The old man in gray noticed Wang Wei's confusion and quickly explained, "This is the ancestral precept of the Guardians."

"The old man's name is Tao, and he is the eighteenth generation descendant of the boundary guardians."

"The ancestral precepts clearly state: After the sealing of the realm ends, the first outsider to enter the ancient Tang continent will be the new realm master of this world, ruling over a realm."

Li An glanced at Wang Wei.

Her older brother is getting more and more amazing.

He used to be just a shopkeeper whom no one dared to mess with under the starry sky.

Now, having stepped into the ancient Tang continent, he has become the world's ruler.

This "realm lord" seems to mean the master of this world.

However, there was no hint of smugness on Wang Wei's face.

He looked at the old man in gray with a hint of wariness.

A windfall?

It's most likely a discus; it could cost you money or your life!

Wang Wei's gaze remained fixed on the old man as he pressed, "What are the benefits of becoming a Realm Lord?"

Upon hearing this, Tao immediately replied, "The Realm Lord can command all living beings in this realm. The Realm Lord is the most revered being!"

Wang Wei raised an eyebrow; it sounded quite good.

Wang Wei then asked, "How many people are in the Guardian faction?"

Tao's expression was somewhat bitter, but he still answered truthfully, "When it came to me, only the old man was left."

Wang Wei's gaze sharpened. "Is this ancestral precept you're talking about universally recognized in this world?"

Tao was taken aback upon hearing this, and shook his head: "This is the Guardian's greatest secret, and outsiders naturally wouldn't know it."

Beside her, Li An's eyes widened; she sensed something was amiss.

No one else knows?

So, is it that only this old man in front of me recognizes my elder brother, the realm lord?

"Don't worry," Tao quickly added, "The old man will announce the arrival of the new ruler through the boundary markers, and then..."

"A bunch of people will come after me then," Wang Wei interrupted directly.

"Uh..." Tao's eyes widened, and he was speechless for a moment, not knowing how to respond.

"I don't have any particular thoughts about this realm lord," Wang Wei said. "Please show us around this place first."

"The old man is confused," Tao said, as a gentle force enveloped Wang Wei and Li An.

The next instant, the three figures vanished from the desolate plain and appeared out of thin air in a bustling and prosperous megacity.

What comes into view are towering, pointed buildings that pierce the clouds, with buildings arranged in a staggered, magnificent and orderly manner, their entire bodies shimmering with a faint light.

In mid-air, countless sleek and exquisitely designed ships cruised and moved back and forth in an orderly fashion, while traffic and crowds flowed continuously.

The city was bustling and vibrant, full of life.

Wang Wei was slightly stunned.

"You live here? Why isn't it some kind of big mountain cave or something?"

"Huh?" Tao asked, looking confused, "Why live in the mountains?"

"It's nothing," Wang Wei shook his head. "I was just prejudiced."

Wang Wei believed that cultivating the power of laws in this world should involve being close to nature and living in a secluded mountain cave.

"This realm lord isn't very bright," Tao muttered to himself. "Why would a normal person go and live in the mountains for no reason..."

However, Tao suddenly realized—the Realm Lord must be having a very hard time in the outside world....

Tao led the two into the capital.

"This is my city—Tao City," Tao proudly introduced.

"It covers tens of thousands of square kilometers and has a population of tens of millions."

"Is this your territory?" Wang Wei asked.

"Yes," Tao explained. "The Guardians have declined. Back then, they ruled over a territory spanning millions of miles, with thirty-six cities and three thousand border passes under their command..."

He stopped halfway through his sentence.

It's as if he's talking about something he himself hasn't experienced, and as he talks, he realizes that those numbers are just numbers to him.

"Forget it, let's not dwell on the past." He waved his hand. "Now, only Tao City remains. The border guards abide by their rules; the territory has shrunk, but the rules haven't."

"However, after you arrive, this realm will all be yours!" Tao added confidently.

"I've said it before, I'm not the Lord of the Realm, and I have absolutely no interest in this," Wang Wei reiterated calmly, his tone brooking no argument.

"But since the ancestral precepts have been established, you are the new ruler of the realm..." Tao stubbornly tried to argue.

Wang Wei was too lazy to continue dwelling on this empty title, so he simply ignored his incessant chatter and focused his gaze on the boundless, bustling capital city ahead.

None of the mountain caves, Taoist temples, or thatched huts that he had previously imagined would appear were there.

Instead, rows of towering, spired buildings stand amidst countless ships.

The streets were wide enough for four parallel hovercraft to pass at the same time.

The ships here are very light and nimble, gliding silently about ten feet off the ground.

Wang Wei pointed to a ship that silently glided by ahead and asked in surprise, "What propulsion system do these ships use?"

"Oh, it's just ordinary law power," Tao said to himself.

"Here, the laws are the only universal energy that people use. The operation of all things, the prosperity of all industries, and the daily life of all living beings are all driven by the laws."

Wang Wei felt a slight jolt in his heart.

Tao noticed his surprise and quickly explained, fearing that the Realm Lord might not understand his own world: "Our ancestors recorded that the outside world uses fossil fuels, so the Realm Lord must have used fossil fuels before."

"You can think of the law as external fossil fuels," Tao added.

A hint of surprise flashed in Wang Wei's eyes. "Everyone can use the power of laws here?"

Tao nodded in agreement.

"Does the law not require cultivation or comprehension, or any talent?" Wang Wei pressed.

"What are you repairing?" Tao was taken aback by the question. "Isn't a law just a form of energy?"

Beside him, Li An blinked.

She could no longer understand their conversation.

But I vaguely felt that what Tao said made sense.

My older brother is ignorant.

Wang Wei remained silent.

This place is so different from what he expected!

Tao looked at Wang Wei, who remained silent, and then his eyes darted around. "Lord of the Realm, please come with me."

As he spoke, Tao quickly took a few steps forward and led the way.

Wang Wei and Li An walked along the street.

There are stalls lining both sides of the street, displaying a wide variety of goods.

Tao stopped in front of a stall.

Wang Wei looked over and saw all sorts of things displayed on the stall.

There were some liquids sealed in transparent test tubes, carefully packaged gift boxes, and some devices whose purpose Wang Wei couldn't yet discern.

"This is a solution of the Water Element Law," Tao said, pointing to the liquid in a sealed transparent container on the stall. "Taking one bottle will grant you the Water Element Law."

"This gift box contains Wood-type Law Capsules. Consuming them will grant you Wood-type Laws."

A hint of shock flashed in Wang Wei's eyes. Both the water-based solution and the wood-based capsule were beyond his comprehension!

Standing nearby, Li An asked curiously, "Grandpa, once you eat these, the effects are permanent?"

Tao smiled upon hearing this, "Of course not, it depends on the number of times it's used and the extent of its use."

"Normally, one vial of the Water-based Law solution can be used for one month."

"What is this?" Wang Wei asked, pointing to the dark gold device on the stall.

"This is a Law Amplifier," Tao explained. "It can increase the power of laws by 30%. It's not cheap; usually, only law enforcement officers and hunter guards would buy it."

Wang Wei fell silent.

He stood on the street, surrounded by passersby browsing various stalls, while in mid-air, there were law-driven ships.

The city's millions of inhabitants all live under the rule of law.

They do not fear it, do not worship it, and do not regard it as the supreme thing.

They were just using it, finishing one and replacing it with the next, like using an ordinary tool.

After a moment, Wang Wei took a deep breath. "These all belong to this realm lord!"

Tao was taken aback.

Why did the Realm Lord suddenly agree to become the Realm Lord?
