The Rise of a Special Forces Soldier Abandoned by a Wealthy Family
Chapter 63 Infiltration in the Dark
The transport plane silently opened its hatch at an altitude of 5,000 meters. Cold Thorn was the first to leap out, followed closely by Little Sparrow and the other team members, like several dark shadows blending into the night. With a high jump and low opening, they glided silently toward the target area.
"Landing checks." Cold Thorn's voice was deep and clear in the encrypted channel. Several figures landed one after another, quickly disappearing into the shadows of the rocks, and marched rapidly towards the target base.
An hour and a half later, through night vision goggles, the entire base came into view: covering an area roughly the size of two football fields, surrounded by a three-meter-high electric fence, with sentry towers at the four corners, and searchlights regularly scanning the surrounding area. The main building complex included a three-story command building, two rows of barracks, and an entrance to an underground facility.
"The sentry towers scan alternately every 12 seconds, and the patrol passes by every 5 minutes," Coldthorn quickly analyzed. "Little Sparrow, give us the optimal route."
"Roger that. There's a blind spot in the perimeter wall at your three o'clock position, just below the second watchtower. The patrol just passed by; you have 4 minutes and 30 seconds."
Coldthorn signaled the tactical order: "Advance in two columns, remain silent." The team members immediately split into two groups and, under the cover of darkness and terrain, moved silently toward the wall.
Upon reaching the designated position, Coldthorn signaled again: "Set up a human ladder and prioritize eliminating the watchtower." Two team members immediately crouched down, while another stepped onto their shoulders and, like a nimble cat, vaulted over the wall.
The guard on the watchtower was yawning when suddenly a strong arm gripped his throat, and a dagger precisely sliced through his carotid artery. The entire process took less than three seconds and was completely silent.
"The watchtower has been cleared. Power is off; entry is permitted."
The team members filed in, disappearing into the shadows of the base like ghosts. Cold Thorn led a two-man team toward the command building, while the other two teams headed to the generator room and the armory, respectively.
"Patrol approaching, take cover." Little Sparrow's voice came through the earpiece.
Cold Thorn immediately gave the concealment signal, and the three of them quickly slipped behind an equipment box. A patrol of five people strolled by leisurely, completely unaware of the danger lurking nearby.
"The candy has been planted," each group reported in turn. Miniature remote-controlled bombs were precisely placed at key points, awaiting the detonation command.
Just as the Cold Thorn team was infiltrating, Irondon was leading his heavy armored team toward the equipment zone.
"See those treasures?" Ironhide grinned, pointing to six T-72 tanks and seven armored vehicles parked on the west side of the base. "They'll be Zeroes in a minute."
"Ironclad, there are two stationary sentries and four mobile sentries in the equipment area," Little Sparrow provided real-time intelligence. "We suggest approaching from the maintenance passage on the east side."
"Roger that." Tiedun gave the signal to disperse and encircle the target. The eight team members immediately split into two groups and made their way towards the target under the cover of darkness and the shadows of the equipment.
A sentry was smoking next to a tank when suddenly a hand reached out from the tank's shadow, covered his mouth, and a military knife pierced his heart with precision.
"Clear the perimeter. Enter the tank." Iron Block nimbly climbed onto the nearest tank like a monkey, pried open the hatch, and slid inside.
The two crew members inside the tank were dozing off and hadn't even realized what was happening before Irondun took them out with a silenced pistol. "Baby, now you're mine." He tapped the control lever and began to familiarize himself with the control system.
The other team members also successfully captured three tanks and two armored vehicles. "Heavy armor team one, in position." "Heavy armor team two, in position."
At a high vantage point 1100 meters from the base, the sniper team was quietly taking position. Team leader "Eagle Eye" gave the signal to spread out and take their positions, and the four snipers immediately spread out in a fan shape, each finding the best firing position.
"Eagle Eye in position. Good visibility, wind speed 4 m/s, humidity 35%." Through the high-precision scope of the MX-8 sniper rifle, Eagle Eye clearly saw every movement within the base.
"Fang in position. Target locked on the east watchtower." "Shadow in position. The western patrol is within my range." "Ghost in position. Heavy weapons platform locked."
The four snipers reported being in position almost simultaneously, their breathing as steady as that of a sleeping cheetah.
