On the top floor of "Jinglong Pavilion", Chen Yifeng stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window with half a glass of whiskey in his hand.

The amber liquid swayed gently in the glass, reflecting the myriad lights of the capital city outside the window.

He looked down at the dazzling night view of Beijing, a calculating smile curving his lips. He had already begun to construct a meticulous plan in his mind, and took out his phone to make a call.

"Grandpa, I'm sorry to disturb your rest so late." Chen Yifeng's tone was respectful yet affectionate.

An aged yet dignified voice came from the other end of the phone: "It's Feng'er. It's nothing, I'm still awake. How have you been at school lately?"

"Everything is fine, Grandpa." Chen Yifeng smiled slightly. "However, there is something interesting I would like to report to you."

Chen Yifeng adjusted his posture slightly and continued:

"We recently got a transfer student at our school named Zeng Long. This kid is quite interesting; he's nearly 1.9 meters tall and has an extraordinary presence, but the strangest thing is his background—we can't find anything about it."

"Oh?" Old Master Chen's voice held a hint of interest.

"What's even more puzzling is that Minister Li Weiguo personally handled his enrollment, and even went so far as to clash with the Wang family for his sake." Chen Yifeng recounted in detail the conflict between Wang Tianhao and Zeng Long at Longteng Pavilion, as well as Li Weiguo's obvious bias towards Zeng Long.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone before Old Master Chen slowly spoke:

"Li Weiguo has been cautious in his actions and diligent in his work over the years. It's almost impossible to find any fault with him. It's indeed unusual for him to protect a young man so openly."

Chen Yifeng's eyes sharpened: "Grandpa, I suspect that this Zeng Long is related to the Zeng family. But we don't have any evidence yet."

"Your speculation makes sense," Old Master Chen said thoughtfully.

Li Weiguo was promoted by the Zeng family, and he was extremely loyal to them.

If Zeng Long is indeed connected to the Zeng family, then Li Weiguo's actions make sense.

Chen Yifeng walked to the liquor cabinet, poured himself a small glass of whiskey, and gently swirled the glass:

"So I want to investigate Zeng Long's background in depth, as well as his specific relationship with Li Weiguo—and even with the Zeng family."

Grandpa Chen chuckled softly on the other end of the phone:

"Feng'er, your intuition is very sharp. The end of the year is approaching, and various ministries will be making personnel adjustments. The position of Minister of State Security is crucial, and everyone is eyeing it."

He paused, then lowered his voice:

"Your second uncle has been in the deputy military region position for quite a few years, it's time for him to be promoted. But Li Weiguo is holding onto his position firmly and doesn't give us any leverage."

Chen Yifeng took a sip of wine, his eyes flickering uncertainly:

"If Li Weiguo really does have some kind of secret, intimate relationship with Zeng Long, perhaps we can find a breakthrough through Zeng Long?"

That's exactly what I meant.

Grandpa Chen's voice was full of approval.

"If we investigate carefully and find evidence of Li Weiguo abusing his power for personal gain, or even better—find documents showing that he violated regulations—we can make a big deal out of it and force him to step down."

Chen Yifeng put down his wine glass, his fingers unconsciously tapping the table:

"Li Weiguo has always been clean, but if Zeng Long is truly his Achilles' heel..."

"Li Weiguo is an important figure in the Zeng family line. He must be removed from his position as head of this violent organization."

Old Master Chen's voice turned cold. "Cutting off the Zeng family's arm will greatly benefit our Chen family."

A confident smile appeared on Chen Yifeng's face: "Grandpa, don't worry. I've found a suitable 'pawn'."

"Oh? Who is it?" Old Master Chen asked curiously.

"Wang Tianhao," Chen Yifeng explained, "is that the Wang family brat who was taught a lesson by Zeng Long at the Dragon Pavilion. He hates Zeng Long to the core and is currently searching everywhere for people to investigate Zeng Long's background."

Chen Yifeng walked to his desk, turned on his computer, and pulled up Wang Tianhao's information:

"The Wang family wields considerable power, but not enough to arouse excessive suspicion from the Zeng family and Li Weiguo. I will subtly guide Wang Tianhao to willingly fight for us."

"What a brilliant move to use someone else to do the dirty work," Old Master Chen exclaimed. "Even if it fails, we won't suffer any losses. But if it succeeds..."

"All the benefits are ours," Chen Yifeng replied, a glint of shrewdness in his eyes. "And I guarantee that the Zeng family and Li Weiguo will never find out that we are the ones orchestrating all of this."

Chen Yifeng continued:

A good chess player doesn't force pieces to move, but rather lets them willingly move to the positions they need!

Wang Tianhao is now filled with anger and a desire for revenge. With just a little guidance, he will become our most capable vanguard.

Chen Yifeng stood by the window, gazing at the distant lights of the capital, his tone filled with an air of absolute confidence:

"Grandpa, don't worry. I will plan everything carefully and make it look like Wang Tianhao's own actions."

"Our Chen family will always remain behind the scenes, the unseen players."

Chen Yifeng's voice was calm and firm, "The Zeng family and Li Weiguo, they won't even know who the chess player is, yet they've already fallen into the trap we've set."

A satisfied laugh came from the other end of the phone:

"Feng'er, you're getting more and more politically astute. I'm leaving this matter entirely to you. Just let me know if you need any resources."

"Thank you for your trust, Grandpa." Chen Yifeng bowed slightly, though the other man couldn't see him. "I will be careful. After all, things will only get more interesting from here on out."

After the call ended, Chen Yifeng slowly put down his phone. He walked to the liquor cabinet, poured himself another glass of whiskey, and stood by the window, gazing in the direction of the Zeng family's residence.

He raised his glass, lightly touched it to the air, and a cold smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

"Zeng family, Li Weiguo, are you ready? This game has only just begun."

Outside the window, the night in Beijing was deep, and an undercurrent that would influence the balance of power among various factions was quietly surging.

Zeng Long, who was at the center of the storm, was completely unaware of the impending crisis.

A calculating glint flashed in Chen Yifeng's eyes as he took a small sip of his wine.

"Zeng Long, whoever you are, you'll find out soon enough. I hope you don't get too easily defeated; that would be too boring."

As night deepened, a power struggle and conspiracy was just beginning.
