In early December, the sky over Nashville was overcast, as if a thin layer of clouds was blocking the sunlight from reaching the distance.

Li Fu sat in Forrest Capital's office, with a summary of accounts and fund holdings that Lina had just submitted spread out in front of him.

Cash holdings in fund accounts: US$42.91 billion.

constitute:

• Foreign exchange principal repatriation: 3 million

• Cash on hand: 1 million

• First dividend retained earnings (AUD): AUD 26.55 billion

• Second dividend retained earnings (Euros + Yen): 12.36 billion

Gold and US stocks are still in our holdings, and our clean energy portfolio is still active, with a remarkable surge as the year draws to a close.

In early December, gold and US stocks were both in a strong upward trend due to expectations of economic recovery in 2009 and year-end rally, resulting in substantial unrealized profits.

Gold is nearing a record high, with funds initially buying at an average price of about $882 per ounce, while the current price is $1212 per ounce, representing an increase of about 37.4%.

The unrealized profit reached $300 million (principal of $200 million, leveraged 5 times).

US stocks also hit new annual highs, as detailed below:

Apple (AAPL): The initial investment cost was approximately $121.6, and the stock price is currently around $209, representing an increase of approximately 71.9%. The fund allocated approximately $8750 million, resulting in a floating profit of approximately $6,290 million.

• JPMorgan Chase (JPM): The cost basis for the position was approximately $34, and the share price was approximately $41 in early December, corresponding to a floating profit of approximately $10 million.

The three major tech stocks, along with financial stock JPMorgan Chase, have a combined unrealized profit of nearly $1.6 million.

As of now, the total unrealized profit from gold and US stocks alone has approached $5 million.

In addition, the minimum allocation for clean energy (50 million principal, unleveraged) also had a good unrealized profit in early December, with an overall unrealized profit of about 21-24 million US dollars.

BYD, in particular, saw its stock price increase by nearly 100%.

The current state of this joint fund can be described as having achieved 1000% growth in just one year.

After removing unrealized gains from gold and US stocks, the fund account still has $42.91 billion in cash available for use.

The next step, deciding how to allocate investment quotas, can be described as a happy dilemma.

Li Fu leaned back in his chair and stared at the two tables for a long time. The fund's overall structure had now become a three-tiered structure of cash, gold, and US stocks, with too much cash.

He picked up a pen and drew three lines on the paper.

Short term (within 1 year): Maintain liquidity and generate annual dividends.

He recalled a major rally in gold prices, which surged from $1100 to nearly $2000. Although he didn't know the exact date, he was certain it occurred in 2011.

When he was learning foreign exchange investment on his own, there was this case in the book he used to learn foreign exchange from scratch.

He plans to invest 5 million yuan, using 3 times leverage, and close out the position at the peak in 2011, with a profit of about 18-20 billion yuan, which can be used as a source of dividends in 2011.

In the medium term (1-3 years), investors can continue to increase their holdings in Apple and Amazon, and realize partial profits around 2012.

He didn't know exactly how much these two stocks would rise between 2010 and 2012, but there was no doubt they would double, which could be used as a point to realize mid-term profits.

For the long term (5 years or more), you can heavily invest in the S&P 500 and Nvidia. The S&P 500 ETF can be used as a core holding, with an annualized return of 10-12%. With 3x leverage, the annualized return is 30%.

Nvidia is a true nuclear bomb, the stock with the most long-term value, and it's estimated to rise dozens of times!

Distributions are made in the short, medium, and long term. In the short term, the responsibility is to distribute dividends to LPs; in the medium term, the responsibility is to realize profits in stages; and in the long term, the responsibility is to achieve the final explosive growth.

However, it seems that this money still can't be used up.

Li Fu began to turn his attention to the domestic market. The decade following 2010 was the period of fastest economic growth in China, driven by factors such as consumption upgrades, logistics infrastructure, and commercial real estate.

These sectors offer more stable returns than US stocks and are less affected by Washington regulations.

Without much hesitation, he immediately decided to send Lina to conduct an on-site investigation and bring back a detailed report.

In the afternoon, Li Fu called Thompson into his office and handed him a form. "Take this to the finance department and have them distribute bonuses to the employees according to the standards listed here."

"Okay, I'll go right away," Thompson said, taking the list. However, he immediately froze as he turned around. "Mr. Li, am I sure I'm not mistaken?"

The amounts on that form were staggering, starting at a minimum of $60,000.

"Even cleaners and security guards?" he asked incredulously.

"Yes, the minimum is 60,000. Our core team starts at 100,000 based on performance evaluations," Li Fu said without even looking up.

This resulted in millions of dollars being sent out immediately.

Thompson was even more surprised to see that next to his name was $60 and next to Lina's name was $100 million, amounts that shocked him.

Although the company frequently gives out bonuses, the scope and amount this time are both too large.

"Don't just stand there, go on!" Li Fu waved to him.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, an irrepressible cheer erupted from the floor where Forrest Capital was located.

The cleaners and security guards were almost in tears.

This is almost their annual salary, and in other companies it would even exceed their annual income.

Employees in capitalist countries have basically never seen such a scene, and of course, most people in China have never seen such a scene either; only a very few companies are so generous.

However, there are exceptions. Li Fu remembered that his artist Taylor Swift would spend nearly $2 million to give bonuses to her team members in one go. Keep in mind that Taylor Swift's net worth was only a few billion dollars at the time.

This gesture was even more extravagant than he was at that moment.

Of course, he posts more frequently.

Before leaving get off work, Li Fu called Lina into his office.

He leaned back in his chair, gesturing for her to sit down, and then asked Lina a question that surprised her greatly, "Have you been paying attention to the economic situation of this major Eastern country lately? What do you think about us allocating one-third to one-half of our quota there?"

"I occasionally read some reports..." Lina thought for a while, "This year, the global economy is almost in recession, only the major Eastern country is still growing. Under the 4 trillion yuan stimulus policy, infrastructure, real estate, and consumption are all on the rise, but..."

"Just what?" Li Fu asked.

"It's just that we don't know much about the specific industries right now, so how can we allocate such a large quota..." Lina was a little worried, but then she felt that Li Fu hadn't missed any opportunities, so she stopped there.

"I believe the world's biggest economic engine for the next decade will definitely be in the East," Li Fu said, looking at Lina. "But you're right, we really don't know enough about it... Would you be willing to take a team to this major Eastern country for in-depth research?"

Lina had just received a million-dollar bonus, so she had to take on this task both morally and logically.

"If you think I'm suitable, I will definitely take on this responsibility, and I can leave as early as tomorrow!" she blurted out.
