Chapter 485 The Land of Giants' Honor—Hero's Tomb! Blackbeard arrived first.

The Sunny passed through the last layer of mist and slowly approached the port of Elbaf.

The closer you get, the more enormous everything seems.

Two towering stone cliffs rise into the clouds on the outside of the port, with a huge stone gate in the middle that allows the main naval fleet to pass side by side.

The door frame is covered with reliefs depicting ancient warriors battling giant beasts, and the waves crashing against the stone walls create a roar like war drums.

Usopp stood at the very front of the lion ship, so excited he could barely contain himself.

He waved his hands vigorously toward the shore.

"Hello!"

"Warriors of Elbaf!"

"We are the Straw Hat Pirates!"

"The brave sea warrior Usopp has arrived!"

no respond.

Instead, the huge, open stone door began to slowly close.

Rumble—!

The heavy stone gate scraped against the ground, and the sound it made caused the nearby seawater to churn.

Nami noticed something was wrong immediately.

She looked up at both sides of the harbor, her expression instantly turning serious.

"They are not welcoming us."

Dozens of fully armed giant warriors have appeared on the cliffs and towers.

They held giant bows, spears, and round shields that could be used as city gates by ordinary people.

Further away, several giant catapults began to slowly adjust their direction, and the thick ropes were tightened one by one by the giant warriors.

A deep horn sounded from the cliff.

Waaah—!

The sound drowned out the waves and echoed throughout the entire harbor.

A giant guard standing atop the tower roared:

"Invading pirate ship spotted!"

"They might be reinforcements left behind by Blackbeard!"

"Everyone, prepare to attack!"

Usopp's excitement froze instantly.

"etc!"

"We're not Blackbeard's people!"

The two sides are too far apart.

His voice had barely reached the air when it was completely drowned out by the horns and the waves.

The next moment, the giant archers simultaneously released their bowstrings.

hum!

Several enormous arrows hurtled through the air.

Each arrow is like a sharpened mast, its tip carrying terrifying wind pressure.

"Get down, everyone!"

Zoro was the first to draw his sword.

Autumn Water traced a dark arc as it slashed upwards, cleaving the massive arrow at the front in two.

The broken arrow flew past the Sunny from both sides and crashed heavily into the sea, creating two waves tens of meters high.

Sanji used Moonwalk to soar into the air.

"Seriously, we're already fighting as soon as we get here?"

He kicked out with both legs in succession, changing the direction of several other arrows.

A massive arrow grazed the sails and plunged into the sea behind the Sunny.

Robin crossed his arms.

"Giant Saki."

Two enormous hands covered in Armament Haki rose from the sides of the ship, catching the arrows falling toward the deck, one on the left and one on the right.

Luffy stood at the bow of the ship, dodging a hail of arrows while shouting towards the harbor:

"We are the Straw Hat Pirates!"

"Not one of Teach's men!"

But the words "straw hat" did not make the guards relax.

Recently, more and more pirates have been entering the Elbaf Sea.

Blackbeard had just launched his attack, and the giant guards had no way of confirming that the pirate crew in front of them was flying the flag of one of the Four Emperors.

Are they pursuing Blackbeard's enemies, or another group of raiders preparing to take advantage of the chaos to invade Elbaf?

Inside the harbor, a giant patrol ship sped out.

That warship was several times larger than the Sunshine, and its prow was carved with a ferocious wolf's head.

The giant warrior standing at the very front of the deck raised his battle axe.

The patrol boats were closing in on us.

The giant warrior roared and his battle axe cleaved the Sun at the waist.

Viktor raised his right hand.

Just as the repulsive force was about to erupt, a familiar roar suddenly came from the other side of the port.

"stop!"

A warship flying the flag of the Giant Warrior Pirates burst out of the harbor.

The tall giant standing at the bow of the ship was clad in armor, carrying a giant sword, and his golden hair flew in the sea breeze.

It was Haildin.

He recognized the Sunny at a glance and saw Luffy waving his arms on the bow.

"Captain Straw Hat!"

Luffy's eyes lit up.

"Haydin!"

Haildin leaped directly from the deck, his massive body soaring across the sea before crashing heavily into the shallow waters of the harbor.

boom!

Huge waves spread outwards.

Halding stood between the Sun and the Giants patrol, raising his arm to block the falling battle axe.

"They're not Blackbeard's reinforcements!"

"Straw Hat Luffy is my benefactor and the captain of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet!"

"They would never obey Blackbeard's orders!"

The giant warrior on the patrol boat paused.

The archer on the cliff did not continue firing.

The lead guard glanced at Halding, then looked down at the straw hat and skull flag fluttering in the wind aboard the Sunshine, and finally slowly raised his hand.

"Cease the attack!"

The giant bow was lowered.

The catapults were also stopped being adjusted.

The port's stone gate, which was about to close, roared again and slowly opened to both sides.

The leading giant guard on the Sunshine said in a deep voice:

"An enemy has recently invaded Elbaf."

"Any unfamiliar pirate ship will be seen as a threat."

"The attack just now was a misunderstanding on our part."

Usopp's legs went weak, and he collapsed onto the deck.

"I almost reached my dream destination when a giant cleaved me in two with an axe."

Zoro sheathed his sword.

"Aren't you a brave sea warrior?"

Usopp immediately straightened his back.

"Being brave and not wanting to be killed by an axe are not mutually exclusive!"

Under Heldin's guidance, the Sunny finally sailed into the port of Elbaf.

Once inside, the group gained a more direct understanding of the scale of the land of giants.

The stone bollards used to moor ships in the harbor were thicker than the mast of the Sunny.

A single stone slab on an ordinary dock is enough to cover half a deck.

Each step of the steps on the shore is higher than a human house, and it would probably take the Straw Hat crew a lot of time to climb them.

Haildin extended his palm and placed it flat next to the Sun.

"Come on up."

"I'll take you ashore."

Luffy was the first to jump into his palm, laughing loudly.

The others followed suit, climbing onto the giant's broad palm and being gently carried to the top of the dock.

The moment Usopp's feet truly touched the ground of Elbaf, everything suddenly fell silent.

He raised his head.

The surrounding area consisted of giant houses as high as mountains, with huge shields and battle axes hanging at the entrances.

In the distance, on the training field, the giant boy was wielding a wooden weapon, each collision shaking the air like thunder.

Dorry, Brogy, and the century-old duel on Little Garden once again surfaced in Usopp's mind.

Those two giant warriors fought for glory for a hundred years.

They were never afraid of death.

They never doubted their own beliefs.

From that day on, Elbaf became a symbol of brave warriors in Usopp's heart.

Now, he finally stands here.

Hajrudin lowered his head, looked at the tiny human sniper, and revealed a hearty smile.

Welcome to Elbaf.

Usopp's eyes instantly reddened.

He sniffed hard, then quickly straightened his chest.

"I, Usopp! Am now a brave warrior of the sea!"

Chopper and Luffy burst into laughter.

After a brief reunion, everyone quickly realized that the atmosphere at the port was far more tense than it appeared.

Squads of giant warriors are gathering inland from different directions.

They were clad in heavy armor, carrying giant axes, longswords, and shields; their footsteps caused the entire road to tremble slightly.

Large numbers of women, the elderly, and children are being moved to safer areas under guard and protection.

Several damaged giant warships were also moored on the other side of the port.

One of the ships had a huge gap torn in its hull by a black force, and obvious signs of erosion remained on the edges of the wooden planks.

The smile on Luffy's face gradually disappeared.

"Did Blackbeard come by?"

Haildin remained silent for a moment.

"I haven't been here before."

"He has arrived."

The expressions of the Straw Hat crew members changed simultaneously.

The Blackbeard fleet indeed arrived in Elbaf faster than they did.

Where is he?

Luffy immediately pressed for more information.

Haildin shook his head.

"It's not certain yet."

"Come with me first."

He led the group to the council chamber near the port.

During the journey, Haildin explained in detail what had happened the day before.

After the Blackbeard Fleet appeared on the outskirts of Elbaf, it did not openly challenge the Titan army, nor did it launch a direct attack on the capital and port.

They only dispatched a few small, extremely fast ships.

The ships used the fog and darkness to approach the coast and launched their attack before the giant guards could react.

The battle took place extremely suddenly.

By the time the main force of the nearby crew arrived, the Blackbeard Pirates had already completed their objective and quickly retreated.

Nami frowned and asked:

"Where did they attack?"

Haildin's voice was heavy.

"They attacked an ancient temple located behind the port."

That temple did not store gold or silver.

It contains records of sacrificial sites, ancient battlefields, and forbidden areas throughout Elbaf.

For ordinary pirates, those things are practically worthless.

Halding initially couldn't understand why Blackbeard would target that area.

Robin asked immediately.

"What did they take?"

Haildin looked at her.

"An old map."

"That map has been preserved for hundreds of years, and it marks a forbidden area that only the tomb-guarding giant and royal warriors can enter."

Luffy asked:

"Where?"

Haildin stopped in his tracks.

His expression was even more somber than before.

"The Land of Giants' Honor".

"Hero's Tomb".

The area around them immediately fell silent.

Haildin continued to explain.

The Heroes' Tomb is located deep in the Elbaf Inland Mountains.

The most famous warriors of the giant race are buried there.

Only those who have rendered great service to Elbaf, or those who have ended their lives in warrior's glory, are qualified to be buried there.

Many of the tombs have been there for hundreds of years.

Some of the older tombstones are so old that even the modern giants cannot accurately determine their age.

Legend has it that the deepest part of the Heroes' Tomb is the burial place of ancient giant warriors.

Their size and strength far exceeded that of ordinary giants today.

Because the Heroes' Tomb is considered the most sacred forbidden area in Elbaf, it has always been forbidden for outsiders to set foot there.

Even within the giant race, only the warriors and priests responsible for guarding the tombs can approach the deepest part.

After hearing this, the Straw Hat crew members' expressions gradually became serious.

When Blackbeard arrived in Elbaf, he stole the map leading to the Tomb of the Giants.

This could not possibly be just a coincidence.

Chopper whispered:

"Could it be that Viktor guessed correctly?"

"Is Blackbeard really here to find the giant's corpse?"

Franky crossed his arms.

"A giant who is not afraid of pain, does not get tired, and can keep getting up is itself a super weapon of war."

Sanji exhaled a puff of smoke.

"And the dead don't refuse orders."

Usopp's expression grew increasingly grim.

He admired Elbaf because of the giant warriors' respect for honor and faith.

But what Blackbeard wanted to do was dig up the graves of those heroes and turn their bodies into mindless tools.

This is worse than simply defeating a giant.

"We absolutely cannot let him succeed."

After hearing their conversation, Haildin suddenly stopped moving.

He looked down at the Straw Hat Pirates.

"Looking for the giant's corpse?"

"What is that?"

The group exchanged glances.

Haildin was clearly unaware of the new abilities Blackbeard had displayed in Tottoland.

Nami explained earnestly:

"We just arrived from all over the world."

"Blackbeard can make the dead stand up again."

Haildin's pupils contracted slightly.

"A dead man... coming back to life?"

Brooke nodded.

"It's not a resurrection in the true sense."

"The deceased did not regain consciousness, nor did they regain their original soul."

"His body was simply controlled by a black soul flame, turning him into a puppet that obeyed Blackbeard's commands."

Chopper quickly added:

"They don't feel pain, and they don't get tired."

"Even if their arms and legs are broken, or even if their bodies are pierced, they can still continue to move."

"Only by destroying the location of the host soul flames can they be completely stopped."

Haildin's expression gradually turned ugly.

He finally understood why Blackbeard's first priority was to find the location of the Hero's Tomb.

Usopp looked up, his voice low.

"Once ordinary pirates are controlled by the black flame, they become very difficult to deal with."

"What if it were a giant's body..."

He didn't continue speaking.

But everyone present understood.

The corpse of a giant, which is impervious to pain, fatigue, and death, is itself a terrifying weapon of war.

If all the powerful warriors from past generations in the Heroes' Tomb are controlled by the Soulfire, Blackbeard will gain more than just a few giant puppets.

It was not a legion of undead giants.

Haildin remained silent for a long time.

His fist clenched tighter and tighter.

Several giant warriors nearby also heard the Straw Hat Pirates' explanation, and their expressions quickly changed from initial confusion to uncontrollable anger.

The warriors in the Heroes' Tomb were not ordinary dead.

Someone once protected the royal city of Elbaf.

Some people covered the rear for their comrades during the war.

Some people traveled across the ocean, spreading the fame of the giants throughout the world.

They fought for glory while they were alive.

After death, they should also rest in peace on the land of Elbaf.

But now, Blackbeard wants to dig up their graves, manipulate their bodies, and make them turn around and attack their own descendants.

Haildin's breathing gradually became heavy.

"That bastard..."

He suddenly pulled the greatsword from his back and slammed it heavily into the ground.

boom!

Hajrudin's eyes were bloodshot as he roared in fury:

"How dare he treat the heroes of Elbaf as mere tools!"

"Those soldiers have shed their blood for this country!"

"They deserve to rest in glory after their deaths!"

"No one has the right to disturb them!"

His voice boomed like thunder throughout the harbor.

Giants are open to challenges.

Defeat is acceptable.

They could even accept a warrior dying at the hands of an enemy stronger than himself.

But they would never allow anyone to trample on the glory of the dead.

They cannot accept that the heroes who once protected Elbaf are being manipulated by Blackbeard to harm their own descendants.

"If Blackbeard really dares to awaken our ancestors..."

"I'll cut his head off with my own hands!"

Luffy held down his straw hat and grinned.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

"Teach is mine."

Haildin glanced down at him.

Then, he revealed a smile full of anger.

"Let's see who finds him first!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a pillar of black fire suddenly rose from the inland direction of Elbaf.

Black flames tore through the sky.

Immediately afterwards, the deep, ancient sound of war bells echoed throughout the entire island.

Boom-!

Boom-!

Boom-!

All the giants in the port changed their expressions at the same time.

The anger on Haildin's face froze instantly.

"The highest-level war alarm in the forbidden zone..."

Halding gripped his greatsword tightly, his voice suddenly turning deep.

"Something's happened at the Heroes' Tomb!"
