"hiss--"

Lin Ye gritted his teeth and gripped the armrest of the seat tightly.

His once frail body is undergoing a dramatic transformation.

Muscle fibers are torn and reassembled, becoming as tough and taut as steel wire.

Bone density is skyrocketing.

In just a few seconds, he felt an explosive power surging through his body, as if he could punch through the steel plates of the cabin.

The sensory perception of the five senses is amplified several times over.

He could even clearly hear the faint electrical hum coming from the headphones of the passengers in front of him.

Immediately afterwards, an enormous and terrifying stream of information was forcibly poured into his brain.

All known firearms worldwide, including structural blueprints, ballistic data, windage calculations, disassembly and maintenance methods...

This knowledge was branded into his soul, becoming an absolute muscle memory.

Lin Ye slowly closed his eyes.

His hands unconsciously clenched together in the air.

His fingers twitched slightly, mimicking the action of changing a magazine and pulling the bolt with one hand.

Flowing like clouds and water, leaving only fleeting afterimages.

Click.

It was as if a gun had actually been loaded into his hand.

An older woman sitting next to him was startled by his neurotic behavior.

"Young man, are you alright?" The older woman shrank back to the side. "Did your hand cramp?"

Lin Ye opened his eyes, a sharp, unsettling glint flashing in his deep pupils.

"It's nothing, ma'am." He grinned, reverting to his harmless demeanor. "I just had a dream that I became a gun god."

With this absolute trump card...

Lin Ye had no more worries about this trip to the Middle East.

This is hardly a mission to be cannon fodder and die.

This is like a max-level player going to a newbie village to easily crush and rake in US dollars!

After more than ten hours of bumpy travel, the plane finally landed.

Arkham, a notorious chaotic city in the Middle East.

I just stepped out of the airport terminal.

A wave of heat, mixed with sand, smoke, and a faint smell of blood, rushed towards us as if it were a tangible substance.

The sky was overcast.

The distant streets echoed with muffled explosions and the dense sound of automatic rifle fire.

Pedestrians on the street were hurrying along, and some were even openly carrying AK47s while strolling around.

There were no police officers and no order whatsoever.

This is a complete lawless zone.

Lin Ye was wearing shorts and flip-flops.

He stood in the square outside the airport, carrying that striking red, white, and blue snakeskin bag.

A dozen or so burly men, who had also come to apply for mercenary jobs, stood around him.

They were all menacing, wearing tactical vests, with bulging muscles and fierce eyes.

In contrast, Lin Ye, with her fair skin and well-proportioned figure, looked like a little lamb that had wandered into a pack of wolves.

"Hey, look at that Asian kid!"

A burly white man with a full beard pointed at Lin Ye and burst into unrestrained laughter.

"Is this kid here for tourism? He's carrying a tattered burlap sack!"

"Hahaha! Probably some idiot who's watched too many war movies, coming here to die." Another burly black man whistled mockingly.

"Kid, there's no mommy here to breastfeed you. You'd better buy a plane ticket and get home!"

The locals and veteran mercenaries around them all wore mocking smiles.

It was as if I were watching a moving live target about to become a corpse.

Lin Ye ignored their mockery.

He simply stood quietly in place, his gaze sweeping over his surroundings.

The brain is like a sophisticated radar, automatically analyzing the best cover and escape route.

This is the battlefield intuition brought about by the [Life and Death Combat Origin Technique].

Just then, a screeching sound of tires broke the laughter of the crowd.

squeak--!

A dilapidated pickup truck riddled with bullet holes and with one of its doors missing came to an abrupt stop in front of the crowd.

A cloud of dust rose into the air.

Three fully armed men jumped out of the carriage.

The leader was a one-eyed man who was holding a badly worn M4 rifle.

He scanned the crowd with the same look he gave them as livestock.

"Are you the newly recruited outer defense personnel?"

The one-eyed man spat out a mouthful of saliva, his voice hoarse.

"I am Hyena, the squad leader of the Blood Fox Mercenary Group!"

He jerked the bolt back, the muzzle of his gun intentionally or unintentionally pointing at the crowd.

"Listen up, all of you! Once you're here, your lives are no longer your own!"

The hyena's gaze suddenly stopped on Lin Ye, and its brows furrowed.

He strode up to Lin Ye and looked him up and down, scrutinizing his ridiculous baggy shorts and flip-flops.

"Yellow-skinned monkey, are you trying to be funny?" The hyena grabbed Lin Ye by the collar and pressed the gun directly against Lin Ye's chest.

For an average high school student, even E. coli would probably be terrified by now. But Lin Ye simply glanced down at the chipped M4, then looked up and spoke in impeccably standard London English:

"Dude, you guys are from Blood Fox Labor Agency, right? I'm here for a summer job. According to international labor standards, pointing a gun at an employee is considered workplace bullying. What if the gun accidentally goes off? Would that be considered a work-related injury?"

The air suddenly became viscous.

The several burly white men with menacing faces immediately became sexually aroused, and even doubted whether they had heard correctly.

Having served as soldiers in Arkham in the Middle East for so many years, they have seen people kneeling and begging for mercy, people so scared that they wet their pants, and even people shouting their faith and self-destructing on the spot.

I've never seen anyone carrying a red, white, and blue snakeskin bag, wearing flip-flops, and discussing workers' compensation with a mercenary leader under the muzzle of a gun.

This kid must have something seriously wrong with his head.

The hyena was clearly at a loss, its finger on the trigger frozen for a long time. It looked Lin Ye up and down, his face unusually young and calm, before finally spitting on the ground.

"Fuck, I've run into a lunatic."

Hyena holstered his rifle and slammed the butt of it against the pickup truck's tailgate with a loud crash.

"Enough talk, get up there!"

Lin Ye grabbed his snakeskin bag and scrambled onto the truck bed using both hands and feet.

The truck bed was already crammed with a dozen or so unlucky guys from various countries. These men had rough skin and eyes that reflected the gambling mentality and fear typical of lower-class gamblers. They had clearly been lured there by the promise of a high-paying job with "ten thousand US dollars a day."

Upon seeing Lin Ye squeeze in, the group of seasoned veterans spontaneously moved aside, looking at him as if he were a plague god.

Especially when they saw Lin Ye's blue plastic flip-flops that cost ten yuan with free shipping on Pinduoduo, and the bulging snakeskin bag in his arms that smelled of pickled vegetables, a low chuckle suddenly rang out in the truck bed.

"A little brat from China? You think this is a vacation in the Maldives?" A burly black man with a scorpion tattoo on his arm nudged his companion with his shoulder and laughed loudly.

"My God, Blood Fox is even recruiting this kind of trash now. It seems the front lines really need punching bags."

"I bet this kid won't make it past tonight. If he does make it to dinner, I'll gnaw on this tire."
