In the nameless valley, the 323rd Brigade's ambush position, thousands of soldiers were waiting in a trap, ready to trap the Japanese invaders.

The valley chosen by Qiu Fengzi is a typical valley between two mountains, with ridges running on both sides and the main road leading to Pengcheng passing through the valley for more than ten kilometers.

In order to cripple the Japanese, Qiu Fengzi brought 6,000 troops, including two infantry regiments of the 323rd Brigade, as well as the mountain artillery battalion and field artillery battalion of the artillery regiment, with more than 30 artillery pieces. Except for the heavy artillery battalion, the other artillery units cooperated with the 323rd Brigade in combat, which gave Qiu Fengzi even more confidence.

The first to enter the valley was the 1st Battalion of the 11th Infantry Regiment, with more than 800 men, who were out of breath as they ran. They were determined to be the first to enter Pengcheng.

The Huaxia government has announced that Pengcheng is an undefended city, meaning that as long as they arrive, they can take over the ancient city without bloodshed.

"Hurry, there are plenty of beautiful girls in town!"

The battalion commander kept urging the soldiers to speed up their advance, and they did not stop for a moment after entering the valley. On the contrary, Kunisaki Toru was cautious and had the main force deliberately slow down the pace, creating some distance between them and Miyamoto's battalion.

Captain Miyamoto marched straight in. Although the valley had a complex terrain, their march went smoothly and without any disturbance until they emerged from the valley.

Kunisaki Noboru was finally relieved and ordered the main force of the brigade to enter the valley. Qiu Fengzi finally showed a victorious smile and muttered to himself:

"You little punks, trying to play tricks on me? You're still too green."

"Notify the artillery group to prepare to fire!"

The Miyamoto Battalion was intentionally let go by Qiu Fengzi. Anyway, with Commander Zhao in charge of the Pengcheng area, a few hundred Japanese soldiers couldn't cause much trouble.

The big head that's trailing behind is the real cut of the pie!

Only after the last Japanese soldier entered the encirclement did Qiu the Madman begin to close the net, loudly giving the order:

"Fire! Blow up that son of a bitch!"

Inside the valley, Guo Yi rode slowly forward on his tall horse, feeling completely relaxed.

The battle of Pengcheng, which had lasted for several months, was finally coming to an end. In Linyi, he suffered his first crushing defeat.

He almost got himself killed, but thankfully he pulled through, and now it's time to reap the rewards.

Pengcheng was right in front of him, and he was destined to be the first to eat the peach. Just thinking about it made him excited.

In the Third Battle of Linyi, the attacking force, mainly composed of the Guoqi Detachment, finally broke through Linyi City after several days of fierce fighting, avenging their previous defeat.

Now only Zhao Yunwen of the 107th Division remains. I don't know if there will be another chance. China is too big, with more than two million regular troops. It would be fate if we met again.

"Boom boom boom..."

A barrage of shells rained down from the sky, and although they were still some distance from Kunisaki's brigade headquarters, they still gave him a big fright.

Despite his arrogance, Kunisaki was still quite capable; he had already realized they had fallen into an ambush.

"Baka yarou—Enemy attack!"

The second volley of shells came almost simultaneously, and this time the accuracy was significantly better, kicking up a cloud of blood mist. Being bombed was no pleasant experience.

Kunisaki Noboru tumbled off his horse in a panic, nearly falling flat on his face. His crisp, clean officer's uniform was now covered in blood, some of it his own, and some of that of other Japanese soldiers.

He didn't know where he was injured, but that didn't matter anymore; escaping was the most important thing.

Shells rained down in rows, but the usually stingy Chinese didn't seem to care much about them, which reminded him of his old rival, whose fighting style was too similar.

The equipment was all pretty much the same, and he cursed in frustration:

"You bastards! It's you again! What kind of samurai are you if you can only resort to sneak attacks? If you're so capable, let's fight for real!"

Major General Kunisaki was left with only his mouth. The thousands of Japanese soldiers in the encirclement had long been blown to pieces. They were running around like headless flies, trying to find a way out.

The best option for the "Double Snakes Emerging from Water" formation during the march was to run into the mountains on both flanks when attacked, which resulted in the ambush on both flanks being detonated.

They opened fire with guns and cannons, spraying a dense hail of bullets at the Japanese soldiers, killing as many as they came.

Both flanks are ambushed; this route is blocked.

Driven by their officers, the Japanese infantrymen repeatedly attacked the mountain defenses on both flanks, attempting to break through the encirclement.

The soldiers of the 645th and 646th Regiments unleashed their full firepower, forming an impenetrable net of fire with thousands of rifles and pistols. The Japanese soldiers tried their best but failed to break through, leaving behind a trail of corpses.

The Japanese soldiers within the encirclement disappeared visibly, leaving Kunisaki Noboru with no choice but to order a turnback, their only way out.

The 323rd Brigade was still too weak, with a ratio of almost 1.2 to 1 against the Japanese forces. Only Zhao Yunwen dared to launch such an ambush.

Xie Polu and others were worried that the war would turn into a war of attrition, but Zhao Yunwen overruled their objections. He had never intended to annihilate the Japanese, so there was no question of being overwhelmed by the Japanese.

With an infantry regiment on each flank and more than thirty artillery pieces providing support, the Japanese had no chance of breaking through and could only advance or retreat.

The two snakes emerge from the water, their heads and tails separated by several kilometers. How difficult it would be for them to turn around!

Upon hearing the intense gunfire behind him, Major Miyamoto lost all interest in celebrating in Pengcheng and turned to reinforce the main force.

Major Miyamoto did not choose to advance along the valley road, but instead bypassed the mountain ridge, attempting to flank the 645th Regiment on the southern front.

Colonel Li Xikai, the regimental commander, reacted quickly, sending the 3rd Reserve Battalion to block the Japanese troops on the western mountain ridge. They occupied the advantageous terrain and fired down from above, quickly stabilizing the situation.

The 645th Regiment was originally the 3rd Regiment of the Training Corps, which was responsible for defending Tiger Cave in Zijin Mountain. Its fate was changed by the strong intervention of the guerrilla column, and its main force was preserved.

Colonel Li Xikai, the regimental commander, was rich in combat experience and had long been wary of Miyamoto's battalion, which had penetrated deep into the heart of the enemy. He had left a battalion as a reserve force, which came in handy this time.

On the main battlefield, after several failed breakout attempts, Major General Kunisaki abandoned his illusions of a dignified escape and fled towards the valley entrance.

Other Japanese soldiers followed suit, crowding and trampling each other, some even drawing their knives.

With dozens of Japanese guards clearing the way, Kunisaki Noboru finally escaped the encirclement. Countless fleeing soldiers were killed by them along the way; they were all cannon fodder, so their deaths were no big deal.

Seeing that the battle was no longer in doubt, Qiu Fengzi ordered the bugle to sound the charge, and the entire brigade went out to pursue and kill as many of the fleeing Japanese soldiers as possible.

As the resounding bugle call rang out, thousands of soldiers who had been lying in ambush on the mountain ridges on both sides surged towards the Japanese invaders like an overwhelming tide, their shouts of battle echoing through the valleys.

"Baka yarou, I'll be back!"

Kunisaki looked back at the valley, his eyes sharp and full of malice. He and Zhao Yunwen had now formed a deep grudge.

Zhao Yunwen also withdrew his gaze from the direction of the nameless valley. The battle had lost its suspense; in the end, it was just a matter of how many enemies were killed.

This wasn't the most important thing for the 107th Division. What was important was that they severely damaged the pursuing Japanese troops, giving them a warning and making them much more cautious afterward.

Having crippled the Guoqi Detachment, Zhao Yunwen's mind was no longer on Pengcheng, but instead turned his attention to Lanfeng on the western front.

Another brutal Japanese division, the Doihara Division, has already shown its fangs.

"You bastards, I'll teach you a lesson!"
