Ron led his men carefully through the wasteland, occasionally encountering small groups of orcs.

Ron didn't want to get entangled with these orcs, for fear of getting bogged down and attracting a large army.

Breaking free from the front lines came at a price; Ron's group now numbers only twenty.

Fortunately, almost all of these twenty people were competitive.

The wasteland was littered with corpses.

There were orcs and humans, their armor stripped off and their weapons gone, leaving only a mess.

A large flock of vultures circled in the sky, their eyes gleaming with hunger.

Ron stopped hiding and put any corpses he encountered into his spatial storage. In just two hours, his storage had already been filled six or seven times.

"Stop!" Ron raised his hand.

Ahead was a dry riverbed, with shrubs growing on both banks, a good place to hide.

Just as Ron was about to lead his men down, he suddenly heard shouts of battle coming from the other side of the riverbed.

He raised his hand to signal the team to stop, and then led Lauenhart up the stairs.

Lying in the bushes and looking out, I saw two groups of people fighting on the other side of the river. To be precise, it was one group of fleeing soldiers robbing another.

There were about ten corpses lying on the ground.

Only a few of the robbed men remained, forming a circle to fight back desperately. The robbers, numbering over twenty, surrounded them and launched a fierce attack, drawing blood with every blow.

Ron squinted for a while, his gaze settling on the group that was surrounded.

The leader, though covered in blood and with his armor askew, still stood out with his arrogant demeanor.

Buck Cucumber.

Ron's lips twitched slightly.

When Buck and his gang escaped, there were still sixty or seventy of them, but because they were a large target, they were spotted by the orcs.

Buck was also a master of sacrificing an arm to survive, abandoning his soldiers to cover the rear.

He escaped with seven or eight knights.

The remaining seven or eight people were all injured, and they ran into another group of lords when they were preparing to set up camp at dusk.

As expected, given Buck's arrogant demeanor, he clashed with the lord, who was an old and powerful figure.

Seeing that Buck and his gang were still so arrogant even though they only had a few people left, they were prepared to teach him a lesson. However, they did not expect that although Buck's group was small, they were all knights, including two high-ranking knights.

They suffered heavy losses as soon as they started fighting, losing seven or eight men. So they got really angry and prepared to capture the lord and demand a ransom.

Laun recognized him too, and lowered his voice: "Sir, it's Buck."

Hart placed his hand on the hilt of his sword: "Should we...?"

Ron raised his hand, signaling for silence.

He stared at Buck, watching him struggle to stay afloat in the encirclement, his bodyguards falling one by one around him.

Buck's face was filled with despair as he frantically swung his sword.

They tried to escape but were held back by two high-ranking enemy soldiers. With only a few of their own men left, the enemy soldiers were about to complete their encirclement.

Just then, Ron led his team out, shouting:

"Captain Barnacles, hold on, I'm coming to save you!"

Buck's eyes widened suddenly, then flashed with a desperate glint of survival as he cried out for help:

"Baron Ron! Baron Ron! Help!"

He then unleashed the last of his fighting spirit and engaged the enemy in combat.

Ron, leading Lauenhart, charged ahead. The moment the three high-ranking figures unleashed their aura, the lord immediately cowered and reluctantly led his men to flee.

Ron did not give chase.

Buck collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, his face filled with relief at surviving the ordeal.

"Baron Ron, thank you..."

He struggled to his feet, but before he could finish speaking, he felt a sharp pain in his neck.

It turned out that Ron had stabbed him through the neck with his sword!

"Sasi bhrena sa, cucumber sauce!"

Become my nourishment, zealo hahahaha...

Buck's eyes widened, his hands clutching his neck, blood gushing from between his fingers. He struggled to speak, but could only gurgle, before collapsing in convulsions.

Ron sheathed his sword and tore a piece of cloth from his body to wipe the blade.

On the other side, Ron and his companion surrounded the remaining high-ranking knight's squire. For safety reasons, Ron eventually joined the battle.

Faced with the combined attack of three people, the middle-aged knight was subdued in just a few breaths, without even a splash.

At this point, Buck and his gang were wiped out.

If Buck had been defeated by the previous lord, he wouldn't have died.

Nobles do not easily resort to violence; the most common practice is to capture prisoners and pay ransoms, as this is in their best interest.

But who told Buck, that plug, to provoke Ron?

They searched the bodies of several knights.

The haul wasn't much; Buck hadn't taken much with him on his escape. A small bag containing a few heart cores, some gold coins, and a few bottles of potions.

Collect all the surrounding corpses into the bracelet.

"Let's go, let's rest somewhere else." He turned and walked back.

Laun and Hart adjusted themselves and silently followed.

After walking for another half hour, it got completely dark.

Ron was preparing to find a place to set up camp when he suddenly heard footsteps ahead. The team instantly became alert and gripped their weapons.

"Don't touch me! It's me!"

A familiar voice came from the darkness.

Ron thought to himself, "What a coincidence. Even if you had come half an hour earlier, you would have had to go down and keep Buck company."

Victor Sprout stumbled out, followed by more than a dozen wounded soldiers, all looking disheveled. Upon seeing Ron, Victor's eyes reddened, and he nearly knelt down.

"Ron, you're alive! That's wonderful!"

Ron helped him up and looked him over. "How's it going on your end?"

Victor gave a wry smile and plopped down on the ground:

"The casualties were heavy; these are all that escaped. Eric... Eric is gone."

Ron's heart sank: "Explain yourself."

Victor's voice trembled: "I saw it with my own eyes. He was surrounded by orcs, all his men were dead, but he was still killing them himself."

"Later...later they were overwhelmed by a group of orcs and never came out again."

Ron was silent for a moment, then asked, "How exactly did Marquis Mammon lose? Do you have any specific details?"

Victor nodded and lowered his voice:

"I really know that. You were on the front lines at the time, so you didn't know the details."

"Marquis Mammon's main force has truly been defeated and has retreated to Ironrock Fortress, where they are now completely surrounded. I heard that a third-tier War King-level expert has arrived from the orcs, and we can't hold them off."

Ron frowned deeply: "A third-tier Battle King?"

Victor nodded: "It's true. A War King-level powerhouse on par with the Dragon Knight."

The orcs' combat strength ranking is as follows.

The terms "Qi-blood Warrior," "War General," and "War King" correspond to "Battle Power" and "Knight" and "Mage."

Despite their different names, these powerful beings also share a unified ranking system, being called Level 1 Lifeform, Level 2 Lifeform, Level 3 Lifeform, and so on.

This time, it was the chieftain of the Wolf Head tribe who personally took action, and several of Marquis Mammon's knights were killed or wounded before Marquis Mammon was rescued.

"I don't think Ironrock Fortress can be defended either. Without dragon knights, no matter how many men we have, we won't have enough to fill the gaps," Victor said pessimistically.

He paused, then said, "Viscount Daniel... didn't escape either. Some say he died in battle, some say he was captured, anyway, the Independent Regiment is down to just a few of us."

"Brother Ron, I'll follow you from now on. I'll do whatever you say." Victor said with a fawning expression.

Ron remained silent, deep in thought, wondering whether or not to take him along.

The downside of bringing it is that you can no longer collect corpses, but the upside is that you can use it to block a knife in a critical moment.

Ron thought for a moment and decided to take it with him. After all, he didn't lack the original fluid at all, and if he really needed it, he could just kill him.

"That works too!" Ron replied.

"Let's skip Iron Rock Fortress and head further back."

Victor nodded repeatedly: "Okay, okay, okay! I'll do whatever Brother Ron says."
