Chapter 207 The Descent of the Stars
Ron was tidying up maps in his tent, while Victoria stood beside him, and the two chatted casually.
According to the plan, the troops should be assembled and set off in half an hour.
The fleet heading to the Autobot battlefield is undergoing final checks. Hart just reported that the supplies have been loaded onto the ships and are awaiting the Grand Duke's order.
Just then, the spatial passage suddenly lit up.
It wasn't the usual stable purplish-black arc of light, but a dazzling, blazing white light that seemed to tear the sky apart.
Light surged from the depths of the crack, spreading out in concentric circles, as if some enormous thing was crashing against the barrier at the other end of the passage.
The violent fluctuations made the entire spatial passage tremble precariously, and the void on both sides of the crack creaked under the strain.
In the end, it was only through the intervention of the third-tier mages remaining at the human base that the passage was barely stabilized by infusing them with magic power.
"What is it?" Ron put down the map and went outside the tent.
He had just lifted the tent flap when he stopped in his tracks.
Two enormous claws emerged from the center of the spatial passage's crack.
Its claws stretched out to both sides of the passage, each knuckle as thick as a house pillar, covered with dark silver scales that gleamed with a cold metallic luster.
The claws dug into the void at the edge of the crack, as if they had grabbed something, and then suddenly tore it outwards.
A purplish-black arc of light exploded on the claws, the electric snake-like energy attempting to force the intruder back.
But the owner of those giant claws seemed completely oblivious, his movements continuing without pause.
The spatial passage was torn open little by little, expanding outwards inch by inch.
Everyone came out of the main camp. Soldiers, knights, and mages stood in a dense, dark mass, looking up at the sky.
No one spoke, no one moved, and even breathing was suppressed to a minimum.
Then, a dragon head emerged.
The dragon's head was enormous. Margaret was already considered a late-stage, adult dragon of the third tier, and her eighty-meter-long body was a colossus in the eyes of ordinary knights.
But the head in front of her was more than twice the size of hers.
The dark silver scales are covered with fine lines, like the trajectory of stars, and each line is glowing.
The longan fruit was golden. Those eyes coldly swept downwards, as if looking at a swarm of ants. Wherever their gaze fell, even the air seemed to freeze.
Ron felt an invisible pressure fall on his shoulder, not directed at him, but just the aftershock. But even this aftershock made his body instinctively send out warning signals.
"Hiss!" He gasped.
"So strong!"
Margaret stood beside him, her little girl-like body taut and straight.
"Very strong." Her voice echoed in Ron's mind, unusually serious.
"Much stronger than the Black Tiger King."
Victoria walked over and stood next to Ron, looking up at the dragon head that was passing through the passage, her tone tinged with emotion.
"I didn't expect even this person to come."
Ron turned his head: "Who is this?"
Victoria did not answer immediately; she watched as the dragon slowly emerged from the passage.
"The reason why the four major human powers are different from other great kingdoms is that..." she said slowly.
"It's not just because they have demigod-level powerhouses. More importantly, they each have their own hidden strengths."
Ron became interested: "What kind of background?"
"First and foremost, it's a world treasure," Victoria said.
"Each of the four major powers has one. I told you about it when the Mirror of Wind was delivered last time."
Ron nodded. The Mirror of Wind's Breath was only a quasi-world treasure, yet it was already able to completely restrict the Black Tiger King.
It's reasonable to consider genuine world treasures as a foundation.
"Next is the strongest." Victoria's gaze fell on the giant dragon.
"The two great empires and the Knights' Alliance each have one. The Commercial Alliance has none, but their wealth is not to be underestimated."
The giant dragon finally passed through the spatial passage completely.
Its two-hundred-meter-tall body was displayed before everyone, and its four wings slowly unfolded, covering half of the sky.
The dark silver scales were shimmering with starlight; this was a demigod-level Star Dragon capable of producing Star Iron.
Star Iron is widely used in the manufacture of airships and various high-value weapons, making it very precious.
Margaret's 80-meter frame looked like a child next to it.
A person stood atop the dragon's head. He wore dark silver armor without any superfluous decorations, only a dark cloak with fine starlight swirling on it.
His aura was as deep as the sea. Standing there, though he was just a single person, he seemed more terrifying than the dragon beneath him.
Cedric's gaze swept across the airspace above the base camp, and wherever it passed, everyone involuntarily lowered their heads.
That kind of pressure wasn't deliberate; it was like a cloud obscuring the sun. You didn't need to say anything; you just knew it was getting dark.
Then he commanded the Star Dragon to descend and fly towards the Knights Alliance's base.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief only after the figure disappeared from the Knights Alliance's base.
"Heart of the Stars, Cedric," Victoria's voice returned to calm.
"The strongest in the Green Knights Alliance. He and his Star Dragon have reached the limits of this world."
Ron raised an eyebrow: "The limit?"
"Our world, Terran, is currently at the pinnacle of small-scale dimensions," Victoria said.
"But the strongest beings that a small plane can nurture are at most demigods. Beyond that, the world's rules do not allow it."
"And what about them...?"
"They're pushing the boundaries." Victoria looked at him.
"If we can take over the Mechanical World this time and fix the rules of the whole world, the Teren World can be promoted to a mid-level plane."
Intermediate-level planes can give rise to even higher-level powerhouses. Therefore, the major powers are more anxious than anyone else about this interdimensional war.
Ron fell silent. "I see."
This is the real reason why the four major forces are desperately trying to recruit people.
"Do those four major powers have many experts of that level?" he asked.
Victoria remained silent for a moment.
"The Green Knights Alliance is the Heart of the Stars."
"On the Magic Empire's side, there is our royal ancestor, Guderian."
Although the patriarch was a demigod mage, he had a contract with the empire's magical mercury dragon. Being able to walk two paths simultaneously was unparalleled in the entire history of the empire.
"On the side of the Glorious Empire, there is their emperor himself. He has the bloodline of a fine gold dragon, and his combat power is comparable to that of the Heart of the Stars."
However, the Glory Empire has the largest number of demigods, and the emperor has already stated that if the war in the Mechanical World continues to be deadlocked, he will not rule out the possibility of personally leading the army.
Ron waited a while.
"What about business alliances?"
Victoria's lips curled up slightly: "Business alliance...rich."
"That's it?"
"That's it. They don't have any experts of that level. So they're using astronomical sums of crystal cores and loans to subsidize the other experts who contributed their time and effort."
The money they spent on the Storm Dragon God incident was enough to buy two small kingdoms.
Ron remained silent for a moment.
The foundation of the four major powers is indeed far beyond what his small duchy can compare to.
Star Heart, Guderian, the Glorious Emperor—any one of these people could make the entire world of Terran tremble.
Ron concluded that after the interdimensional war ended, the world of Terran would undergo a major upheaval.
Those who profited enough in the war will rise rapidly in rank;
Those who didn't get on the train or perished will be devoured.
So he had to seize this opportunity to make more money.
Only after you've made enough money can you stand firm amidst changing circumstances.
