That night, the moon was dark and the wind was high.

Ron, accompanied by Laun, Gray, and two knights, quietly slipped out of the manor through the back gate.

Everyone changed into old leather armor, covered themselves with black cloth, and their weapons were ordinary items taken from the warehouse, without any markings.

"remember,"

Ron lowered his voice:

"Don't speak when you take action. If anyone escapes, don't chase after them. Once you've succeeded, retreat and be back before dawn."

Everyone nodded.

The group bypassed all patrol routes and made their way to the shallows to the west. Fortunately, everyone was a knight and they used their battle aura, so the wilderness at night did not have a significant impact.

Meanwhile, north of the waterfront, Baron Boris also set off under cover of night. They, too, changed their clothes and took another route around the shallows, making their way eastward.

In the darkness of night, two groups of people passed each other, heading in their respective directions.

No one knew of the other's existence.

Ron led his men across the shallows and made their way north along the riverbank. Fortunately, with the map provided by the Baron of Green Lake, Ron and his group made their way without any obstacles.

They searched for two miles before finally seeing a light.

It is a village in Linshui.

Ron lay in the grass and observed for a moment. There were two soldiers on watch in the tower.

Before the two men on the lookout tower could react, Laun's arrow had already pierced their throats.

"superior!"

Ron took the lead, channeling his battle qi to scale the two-meter-high wall, rush into the camp, and open the gate.

The longsword was drawn, and battle qi surged wildly within his body. Tonight, he would fully unleash his high-level strength.

A panicked alarm sounded at the farm, and a low-ranking knight squire rushed over with his weapon.

With a flash of sword light, he was sent flying by Ron's sword and fell to the ground, unable to get up.

The other soldiers who arrived changed their expressions drastically and turned to run away.

Laun and his men killed anyone they saw, stormed into the granary, and threw away the torches they had seized, instantly setting the dry grass ablaze.

Flames shot into the sky, illuminating half the heavens, and the entire village was in chaos.

Ron glanced around. Some of the fleeing soldiers had already disappeared into the night, perfect.

"Withdraw." The entire attack lasted less than fifteen minutes.

After setting the fire, the group disappeared into the night.

Before leaving, Ron deliberately left something behind: an ordinary longsword with no markings on it.

What Ron didn't know was that while he was leading his men to attack Linshui Territory, a group of "bandits" had already sneaked into the northern part of River Bend Territory.

They didn't go to the manor, but went straight to Black Wheat Village.

For Baron Boris, the Reach might have high-ranking knights as squires, and he did not want to engage in a full-scale confrontation without absolute certainty of victory.

Otherwise, if a high-level combatant were to be replaced, he would have nowhere to turn to complain.

In pioneering areas, money is important, but talent is equally important. His caution had saved him several times already.

"Do it." Boris whispered the order.

When the torches were thrown in, the villagers were still asleep. By the time they realized what was happening, the haystacks were already ablaze, flames shooting into the sky, and screams filled the air.

More than a dozen knights in black rushed into the village, causing chaos. The serfs screamed and ran out, some banging gongs and others shouting for help to put out the fire.

After eliminating the guards at Blackberry Village, Boris led his men away and hid in the shadows, watching everything unfold with cold eyes.

He was waiting for that kid's men. With such a commotion, the patrol team couldn't possibly have missed it.

No matter what Ron does, he will get the information he wants.

After waiting for a long time, not a single person came.

Only the serfs in the village were running around, and the fire was getting bigger and bigger.

Locke leaned closer: "Sir, no one's coming."

Boris laughed heartily.

The salt mine can't escape!

The return journey was quick, and Ron also managed to take over a sentry post along the way.

I calculated the time in my mind, and I was sure I could get back before dawn.

As he was thinking, Gray, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped.

"Sir, look over there."

Ron looked in the direction he was pointing—to the east, towards his own territory, there was a fire.

Not just a few spots, but a whole area. That location...

Ron's heart sank.

Heimaitun.

"Sir, that is..." Lauen's voice was strained.

Ron didn't speak, but just stared at the ball of fire. The fire wasn't very big, but in the pitch-black night, it was clearly visible from this distance.

That was not an accidental fire.

Someone deliberately burned it.

Boris Johnson.

"Let's go," Ron said in a deep voice. "Hurry up."

The group quickened their pace, almost running across the wilderness. No one spoke; only their rapid breathing and footsteps crunched on the weeds filled the air.

The closer you get to the manor, the clearer the firelight becomes.

After they climbed over the last earthen slope, they finally saw clearly that the houses in Heimaitun were burning brightly.

The firelight illuminated half the village, and you could vaguely see people running around, and hear cries carried on the wind.

Ron stopped and stared at the fire.

Laun stood beside him and whispered, "Sir, we..."

"Go back first," Ron interrupted him, his voice calm.

"It's too late to go now. Let's go back to the manor and talk about it."

Before dawn, the two groups returned to their respective territories.

Ron changed out of his old leather armor, and Hart and Perrin knocked and came in:

"My lord, the loss statistics are in. Eight guards died, and half of the serfs ran away. Many of them returned gradually as dawn broke, but we still need to send people to search for them."

"The guards and the officers were all killed, which meant there was no one to organize the firefighting efforts, and the buildings in Heimaitun were basically all burned down."

Ron leaned back in his chair, gazing at the morning light outside the window.

He burned down one of Boris's farms, killed a low-ranking officer, and deliberately let a few guards escape to report back. Boris burned down his rye village.

In this round, neither side gained an advantage.

But one thing is clear: Boris, that sixth brother, is not easy to deal with.

Maybe he'll come tonight too.

Perhaps when the two groups pass each other, they are only a few miles apart.

Ron suddenly chuckled.

The days that followed were going to be interesting.

Meanwhile, in the Waterfront Castle.

As soon as he entered the castle, one of Boris's men came to report the situation.

"Sir, something has happened."

Boris's heart sank: "Speak."

"Our farm in the northeast corner was burned down last night," Colin said in a low voice.

"The granary was completely burned down, and the low-ranking guards were also dead. According to the soldiers who ran back, there were five or six people who did it, and the leader was—"

"What is that?" Boris stared at him.

Colin swallowed hard: "The leader killed one of our low-ranking squires with a single sword strike."

When that person made their move, their battle aura was incredibly strong; they were undoubtedly a high-ranking knight's squire.

Boris's expression changed.

High-level?

Where did this high-ranking person come from? Could they be from the River Bend Territory?

"Did those people leave anything behind?" he asked.

Locke shook his head: "A sword was left at the scene. It was a very ordinary sword, and you couldn't tell which family it belonged to. They left after burning it, without stealing anything or giving chase. It's like they deliberately let them go."

Boris remained silent for a moment.

As expected, this high-ranking knight squire was from River Bend Territory. No wonder there was no movement when he attacked Blackwood Village; it turned out he had come here instead.

They didn't steal anything, they just set fires and deliberately let people come back to report.

This isn't robbery. This is a demonstration.

He walked to the window and looked eastward.

In River Bend, Ron Broccoli, Boris pondered the intelligence he had obtained from his father-in-law's connections.

Judging from intelligence alone, he is a very promising young man. Seeing him in person today, he is indeed quite good.

As for the high-ranking knight squires, they were most likely provided by his family. This is not uncommon, but it usually happens in higher-ranking noble groups. It seems that he is highly valued by his family.

"Sir, how about we change direction?" Locke whispered. "Over at Maolin Ridge..."

Boris didn't respond.
