Alex was stunned when he heard Lin Jie's answer; his mouth was agape enough to fit a fist.

Alex turned his head stiffly to look at the Archmage, swallowed hard, and tried to get a reasonable explanation from the Archmage: "Archmage, he... he's joking, right?"

Master Wang spread his hands, shrugged, and said in an extremely calm and matter-of-fact tone, "Learning astral projection in two days, isn't that normal? What's the big deal?"

"Alright, alright, let's not dwell on this." Master Wang patted Alex on the shoulder, forcefully changing the subject. "Let's get down to business. What's going on in New York?"

Alex took a few deep breaths, forcibly suppressing the shock in his heart, and tried to make his voice sound calm.

Master Wang turned to look at Lin Jie, who was still floating in mid-air, and sighed helplessly.

"I understand the situation, and I will report this matter truthfully to the Venerable Master." Venerable Master Wang waved his hand.

As soon as he finished speaking, Master Wang's expression suddenly changed, and he abruptly turned his head to look at the dark night sky outside the hall.

A man wearing red and gold steel armor was being brutally rubbed against the ground by another man whose body emitted a blinding red light and seemed to be made of magma.

"Phew... You scared me! I thought it was one of Dormammu's followers." Master Wang breathed a long sigh of relief after seeing the situation clearly. "It turns out Iron Man is fighting someone again."

"Iron Man? Tony Stark?" Lin Jie's eyes lit up. This was one of his favorite superheroes before he transmigrated.

"Yes, that rich, arrogant jerk." Master Wang crossed his arms, adopting a spectator's posture.

Lin Jie leaned closer and asked curiously, "Who's that guy covered in flames? He looks pretty fierce; he almost tore Iron Man's armor apart."

"His name is Killian," Master Wang casually explained. "A mad scientist who created something called the 'Extremis Virus.' After injection, the body can generate temperatures of three thousand degrees Celsius, enough to melt steel instantly. Stark has really messed up this time; his armor simply can't withstand that kind of heat."

Lin Jie watched with some worry as Iron Man was sent flying by Killian's punch, sparks flying from his armor: "If this keeps up, Iron Man might be done for. Aren't we going to do something about it at Kamar-Taj?"

Master Wang shook his head, his tone calm: "Karmar-Taj's duty is to defend against supernatural threats from other dimensions. Personal grudges and technological mutations within Earth like this fall under the Avengers' purview. We'll just watch and not get involved."

"Watching others get beaten up is a strange feeling," Lin Jie muttered, then added curiously, "By the way, Master Wang, we were perfectly fine in the temple, how did you know there was a fight here?"

"This is called perception magic," Master Wang explained generously. "By merging your spiritual power into the surrounding natural energy, you can detect unusual fluctuations in the distance. Highly skilled mages can even see what's happening clearly, like watching surveillance footage. You can learn it slowly later."

Perception magic? This skill is useful! Lin Jie secretly noted it down, planning to try and figure it out when he got back.

"Alright, since this is none of our business, let's go." Master Wang checked the time and prepared to draw a portal back.

The instant he raised his hand.

"boom--!!!"

A huge explosion came from the dock ahead.

A red and gold steel figure, like a baseball that had been hit, drew a messy parabola in mid-air and crashed heavily onto the asphalt road in front of Lin Jie and his two companions with a loud bang!

The armor scraped against the ground, leaving a trail of sparks, and slid for more than ten meters before stopping right at the feet of Lin Jie's floating soul.

"Cough cough... Jarvis... the shock absorption system on this crappy suit is terrible..."

Tony Stark struggled to prop up his tattered armor, coughing and grumbling as he did so.

He had just raised his head.

A semi-transparent, faintly glowing figure floated above his head.

Because the armor mask had just been blasted away, Tony was now able to see Lin Jie's soul directly with his naked eye.

He stumbled back several steps, using both hands and feet, as if he had seen a ghost, pointing at Lin Jie and shouting in a trembling voice:

"Oh my God! Jarvis! Tell me there's something wrong with my eyes! I actually saw a ghost in the middle of the night?!"
