Chapter 59 Even if the building collapses, a contract must be signed!
A garage somewhere in Las Vegas.
A dozen or so people were gathered around a pile of bones on the ground.
Shan Beng was furious as he looked at the pile of ribs.
He is widely recognized as the king of civil engineering destruction in Vegas's underground neighborhoods!
But now!
His most capable henchman was completely dismantled like a roast duck.
With a kick that sent the abandoned engine hood flying a considerable distance, Shan Beng roared and ordered, "Send everyone out! I want that French poker player to die a horrible death!"
"Also, find out who that Asian man is!"
The younger brother next to him stepped forward timidly.
"Boss, that Asian guy keeps calling Remy LeBeau 'cousin,' and they're staying in a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel right now."
Shan Beng's fists clenched so tightly they cracked.
Four Seasons Hotel?
That's his territory, his neighborhood!
Now look what's happened! Two outsiders killed his top henchman on his turf, and they dare to swagger into his hotel?
"Tear that building down!"
He even smiled as he said this, a smile that came from being thoroughly enraged but then calmed down.
"I want to turn them, along with the foundation of the west wing, into concrete sandwiches."
at the same time.
Stephen Chow looted all the free daily necessities he could take.
Small bottles of shampoo, shower gel, lotion, sewing kit, shoe polish, and even two rolls of toilet paper were stuffed in.
His technique was superb, like someone who deals in wholesale goods.
As the strategist held the contract, he glanced out of the corner of his eye at the man who called himself an "agent" stuffing disposable slippers into his suitcase, and his conscience wavered a couple of times.
He had met real government agents—FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Interpol…
No one would steal hotel slippers.
And why is his suitcase so big?
"Buzz~"
The bottle of sparkling water on the coffee table suddenly started churning, with bubbles rising from the bottom of the bottle.
The King of Cards stopped writing.
"Earthquake?" He frowned.
Stephen Chow pressed down on the coffee table.
This frequency is wrong; it's too regular.
"It's not an earthquake."
Before he could finish speaking, the entire window shattered with a loud crash.
The floor began to tilt, and a crack appeared in the middle of the marble tile.
"Landslide!"
The King cursed and jumped up from the sofa.
"Who is this?"
"That boss of Bone Shavings is a hundred times harder to deal with than Bone Casting!" The King of Cards quickly scanned his surroundings, looking for an escape route.
"He can dismantle a building's structure from underground; he can demolish the entire building however he wants!"
The chandelier on the ceiling swayed three times before crashing down, base and all.
Stephen Chow dodged to the side and shouted, "Sign! Sign the contract now!"
The King of Cards stared wide-eyed at the madman.
The building is about to collapse and he's still thinking about the contract?
"Are you out of your mind?!"
"Once you signed, you're one of us! Our employees are protected if they get injured on the job! You didn't sign, so what's the point of your injury now? It's your own fault for trying to scam us!"
The second wave of tremors arrived.
The floor broke directly in the middle and tilted to both sides.
The King of Cards lost his footing and his body plummeted down the broken floorboards.
He threw out three playing cards to blast away the obstacles below, trying to create a foothold for himself.
But the building continued to collapse, and every piece of concrete he stepped on shattered the next second.
At the critical moment, a hand grabbed him by the back of his collar.
"cough!"
The King of Cards was so tightly strangled that he almost rolled his eyes back, his whole body hanging in mid-air like a chick being lifted up.
Looking back, Stephen Chow was holding him with one hand, while the other hand was doing something that made blood pressure soar.
He was stuffing something into the inside pocket of his suit jacket.
contract.
A ballpoint pen.
A small bottle of hand cream.
"You fucking..."
"Don't move! If you move again, I won't be able to hold you back!"
Stephen Chow used the momentum to bounce up.
He was like a mudfish swimming upstream in a waterfall, specifically seeking out landing spots that hadn't yet broken apart.
Every step he took teetered on the brink of collapse, every step he took pulled away before gravity dragged him down.
A piece of load-bearing wall slammed straight at the King of Cards' face.
A flash of silver light.
The butcher's knife cleaved horizontally, neatly splitting the concrete block—enough to crush a person into a meat patty—into two halves, grazing past the sides of the King of Spades' face.
"My face!"
"How much is that tattered mask of yours worth?"
Zhou Xingxing used the debris from the third floor as leverage to push off, sending Gambit flying sideways.
Behind them, the entire west wing of the Four Seasons Hotel collapsed inward.
The dust formed a gray wave that caught up with them.
The two fell from the second floor into the green belt across the street.
Zhou Xingxing landed first to stabilize his center of gravity, and then casually tossed the King of Cards to the side.
The King of Cards rolled three times on the lawn before finally lying on his back under a palm tree.
Stephen Chow stood at the edge of the ruins, patting the dust off the cuffs of his white suit.
Then he looked down at his clothes, and his face showed an expression more painful than if the building had collapsed.
"Damn! This is my second white suit!"
He turned back to look at the pile of smoking rubble, his voice trembling with grief and indignation.
"I haven't even opened the $15 sparkling water yet! There are at least six free bottles of Coke and three tubes of potato chips in that mini-fridge! That's almost 200 RMB!"
The King of Cards got up from the ground, spat out the grass in his mouth, and stared at him with the look of someone who was crazy.
"You were almost buried alive, and you're worried about the cola?"
"The cola is free, you know that! Not getting something free is a loss! That's called a sunk cost!"
Zhou Xingxing took the contract out of his inner pocket, shook off the dust, and examined it carefully under the streetlight.
The paper is intact and undamaged.
"Thank goodness, the contract is still valid."
The King of Cards opened his mouth, then closed it again.
He's now pretty sure of one thing: this guy is either the best acting psychiatrist in America, or he really has "saving money" ingrained in his DNA.
Regardless of the reason, he felt like he had been tricked.
Low-frequency vibrations were felt on the ground.
Stephen Chow put away the contract, his ears twitching slightly.
"He's still underground."
"Nonsense! Landslides never fight on the ground; they're like fish in water underground!"
Stephen Chow pulled out a small notebook and quickly wrote a line.
"Civil engineering deconstruction capabilities, underground operation type, extremely wide attack range..."
The King of Cards stared at him in disbelief.
"You're still doing talent assessments?!"
"Professional habits".
Stephen Chow closed his notebook and adopted a serious expression.
"However, this guy is quite capable. If we can recruit him to carry out targeted demolition for urban renewal, he can save 300 million yuan in demolition costs by himself."
"He has a terrible temper; he's the troublemaker type. I'd probably have to beat him up during the interview."
"You're hopeless!"
The sound of an engine interrupted their conversation.
More than a dozen SUVs drove in from various intersections in the neighborhood.
The King of Cards wiped the dust off his face, picked a direction, and ran.
"Let's go find a tough friend who can handle things!"
"You haven't signed the contract yet, cousin!"
"Run away first, then we'll talk!!!"
