We arrived in the capital at exactly two o'clock.

Lin Yuan and Su Zhiyuan pulled their suitcases out of the station. The sun was shining brightly, and a wave of heat hit them.

Jinghua Film Academy is located on the East Third Ring Road in Beijing, which is easily accessible. It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from the high-speed rail station.

The two arrived at the school gate by taxi. A magnificent gate came into view, with the six gilded characters "Jinghua Film Academy" shining brightly in the sunlight. The gate was bustling with people, mostly new students pulling suitcases or carrying large bags, accompanied by their parents, creating a lively scene.

"Let's go, let's go to the registration area first." Lin Yuan looked at the campus navigation on his phone, and Chong Su Zhiyuan raised her chin.

Su Zhiyuan nodded, and the two walked into the campus one after the other.

The registration tents were set up in the square in front of the library, with booths from various departments lined up in a row, and senior students warmly greeting the new students.

Lin Yuan and Su Zhiyuan found the registration desks for the Directing and Broadcasting departments—the two booths were right next to each other.

The two stood side by side, their handsome man and beautiful woman immediately attracting a lot of attention. Several freshmen nearby whispered among themselves—

"Aren't they a couple? A perfect match."

"Amazing! This level of looks is top-tier even in the entire school."

Lin Yuan, with his sharp ears, heard it. His eyebrows curved into a smile, and he gestured with his chin towards the two freshmen: "Don't make wild guesses. If we were really a couple, I would have been holding her hand long ago. This is my neighbor's iceberg; I just happened to be passing by to thaw it. I won't cover any frostbite."

The two freshmen burst into laughter at his antics.

Su Zhiyuan glanced at him, slightly raised her chin, and uttered two words indifferently: "Too talkative."

"New students of the Directing Department, please report for registration!" Lin Yuan handed his admission notice and ID card to the senior student in charge of registration.

The senior student looked up at him, her eyes lighting up slightly.

"Junior, with your looks... are you sure you're in the directing department?" the senior teased with a smile. "Our directing department hasn't had such a handsome guy in years."

She efficiently completed the formalities for him, then smiled and took out her phone:

"Hey junior, can we add each other on WeChat? Feel free to ask me anything you don't understand. My name is Lin Miaomiao, I'm a third-year directing student."

Lin Yuan glanced at the QR code she showed him, then at her expectant expression, and looked troubled.

"Senior, it's not that I don't want to add you, but I only have one friend spot left on WeChat, and I need to save it for a future producer. If they invest in my movie and I can't add them, and a multi-million dollar deal falls through, I can't afford to lose that."

Several freshmen nearby burst out laughing.

Lin Miaomiao chuckled, rolling her eyes at him. "Alright, big director, I wish you good fortune." She paused, then pointed to the broadcasting department's booth next to them. "But your friend should be prepared when he goes there—Chen Hao over there is a notorious social butterfly; he adds everyone on WeChat."

Lin Yuanchong made a gesture of thanks with his hands clasped in front of him, then pulled his suitcase toward the broadcasting department's booth.

Su Zhiyuan stood in front of the broadcasting department's registration desk, completely ignoring Lin Yuan's farce and showing no emotional fluctuation.

The people in charge of receiving her were several second-year students from the broadcasting department. They were idly scrolling through their phones when they saw Su Zhiyuan, and they all looked up at the same time.

The air was quiet for a second.

Then, a senior student dressed in trendy clothes with his hair meticulously styled stood up first, his face beaming with smiles:

"Junior, are you in the broadcasting department? Come on, let me register you."

He took Su Zhiyuan's admission notice, but his eyes kept glancing at her face.

Su Zhiyuan looked at him calmly, her eyes as cold as a Siberian frost.

The senior student shivered from the chill, but still forced himself to continue the conversation:

"Hey junior, wanna add each other on WeChat? Feel free to ask me anything you don't understand at school. My name is Chen Hao, I'm a sophomore in the Broadcasting Department, and I'm the Minister of Arts and Culture in our department's Student Union."

As he spoke, he took out his phone, opened the QR code, and practically shoved it in front of Su Zhiyuan.

Su Zhiyuan looked at the enlarged QR code on his phone screen, then at his face.

Her red lips parted slightly, uttering two words—

"Need not."

His tone was cold, decisive, and left no room for negotiation.

Chen Hao's smile froze for a moment, but quickly returned: "It's okay, it's okay, we can add each other later when we're more familiar. What's your name, junior?"

"Su Zhiyuan."

"Great name!" Chen Hao immediately flattered, "The person lives up to their name; their temperament is exceptional."

Su Zhiyuan didn't reply. She picked up the registered materials and turned to leave.

The whole process was smooth and efficient, without any unnecessary glances.

Lin Yuan appeared out of nowhere and patted Chen Hao on the shoulder with a sympathetic look:

"Senior, you're already very lucky—at least she said two words. Most people would only get a cold, single-word response, or worse, wouldn't even get a glance."

"Really?" Chen Hao asked, still somewhat skeptical.

Lin Yuan nodded seriously: "Really. The word 'passion' probably doesn't exist in her dictionary; it's all 'cold'."

Su Zhiyuan paused, turned her head slightly, and looked at Lin Yuan.

That look seemed to say—say it again?

Lin Yuan shrugged, his tone casual: "Why are you looking at me? I didn't say anything wrong."

Su Zhiyuan looked away, too lazy to pay him any more attention, and continued walking forward with her suitcase.

Lin Yuan winked at Chen Hao and lowered his voice, "See that? This is the epitome of an iceberg. Senior, take my advice, stay away, or you'll get frostbite."

Chen Hao: "..."

Several senior students nearby finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Lin Yuan waved goodbye to Chen Hao and the other senior students, then pulled his suitcase and headed towards the North District—his route also led in that direction.

The two walked along the tree-lined path on campus, the shadows of the plane trees stretched long by the sunlight, and dappled sunlight scattered all over the ground.

"Where is the dormitory?" Su Zhiyuan asked.

Lin Yuan took out his phone and checked: "The male dormitory for the Directing Department is in Building 6, East Campus, and your female dormitory for the Broadcasting Department... should be in Building 3, North Campus."

The two exchanged a glance.

One is in the east, the other in the north; they're not exactly close.

"Alright, I'm off." He called out to her retreating figure, his voice languid. "Take care, my icy neighbor. If you get bullied next time we meet, remember to mention my name—it might not do much good, but at least it'll scare away a few cowards."

Su Zhiyuan didn't turn around, she just raised one hand and waved it casually—a very perfunctory farewell.

Then it turned a corner and disappeared in the direction of Building 3 in the North District.

Lin Yuan pulled his suitcase and turned to walk towards the East District.
