Wizard's Journey

Chapter 4 Beauty Shell

Fragrant wine is served in an exquisite glass.

On the dining table, there were seventy or eighty kinds of condiments in front of Green, such as foie gras and yew sauce, not to mention the various exquisitely crafted roasted meats that Green had never even seen before.

It's incredible that Green was fortunate enough to dine with the city lord on his first visit to the city lord's mansion.

Although, this was all because of the great wizard next to him.

"Green".

The wizard suddenly exclaimed something.

Setting down his knife and fork, Green quickly bowed and said, "Sir."

"Yes. What I'm trying to say is that children whose mental strength can naturally grow to 10 will usually sense their talent during the crystal ball test. This is very important for your future development as wizards. Don't forget everything that happened during the test. If you are able to advance to the level of a wizard in the future, you must make use of your talent to develop it."

The wizard's voice was somewhat neutral and hoarse, as if he had some kind of problem with his throat, or as if a parrot was speaking in his robes.

"Yes, sir."

Green responded respectfully.

My own talent?

Those bizarre and strange phenomena?

Green didn't believe those strange things could be his helpers or henchmen; judging from their bizarre nature, they were more likely enemies.

Then, the wizard turned his head to Raffi, the city lord's daughter, and Wade, the son of the owner of the Moon Bay Hotel.

"Since your mental strength is below 10, you two wouldn't normally be eligible to become wizard apprentices. However, for wizards, external conditions are secondary and auxiliary; wisdom is the true source of a wizard's power. For wizards, the most important thing is knowledge, not so-called talent."

"Yes, sir."

The two answered in unison.

"Haha, Master, you've traveled a long way and must be tired. Let me treat you to a good meal today. Come, come, Master, try these rare delicacies found in the Southern Endless Sea."

The city lord changed into a formal noble robe, and with a smile on his face, he waved his hand. Eight beautiful maids then brought eight plates from a distance and placed them in front of the city lord, the mysterious wizard, and the six wizard apprentices.

Green looked at the plate in front of him, on which was a seemingly ordinary seashell, and frowned.

Is this a rare delicacy?

How to eat it?

"Beauty Clam? I haven't seen one since I tasted it once when I was on a mission in the Southern Endless Sea a hundred and twenty years ago. It was a shellfish that evolved to evoke pity in order to avoid being hunted by humans. I never expected to taste it again in the Eastern Coral Islands. The city lord has gone to great lengths."

The wizard seemed to have a particular fondness for this strange food called the Beauty Clam, and you could hear the great joy in his voice.

"Haha, please."

Aside from the city lord, Raffi, and the mysterious wizard, the remaining five wizard apprentices stared blankly, completely clueless as to how to taste this so-called beauty shell.

Green watched closely every movement of the city lord. He saw that the lord's chubby hands were adorned with seven dazzling rings. He gently lifted the clam shell from the plate and casually broke it open.

What happened next made Green stare in horror.

Inside the seashell was a lifelike miniature version of a beautiful woman, but this woman was not wearing any clothes and seemed to have no bones. She was a soft-bodied creature, curled up and asleep inside the seashell.

However, now that the shell has been opened, the sleeping, "beauty-like" soft-bodied creature inside naturally begins to slowly awaken, looking around in confusion.

"hey-hey."

The city lord smiled on his chubby face, picked up the seashell and brought it to his mouth. At the same time, he pursed his thick lips, as if he was about to suck the still dazed "beauty" inside the seashell into his mouth.

However, at this moment, the "beauty" inside the shell seemed to realize her predicament. Her soft body desperately crawled away, screaming in alarm, just like a newborn mouse.

As the city lord took a deep breath, the scream immediately entered his mouth, followed by a faint sound coming from his abdomen.

"Ah...how wonderful."

The city lord casually tossed the seashell in his hand, closed his eyes, and enjoyed the view with a sense of contentment.

The wizard and Raffi both ingested the Beauty Shell, yet both acted as if nothing had happened.

The wizard looked at the five hesitant wizard apprentices and shook his head, saying, "For wizards, the taste is secondary. The most important thing is that the Beauty Shell has the function of purifying fire elements. If any of you are interested in studying the knowledge of fire elements in the future, this Beauty Shell can be of great help to you. Wizard, you must see the essence and not be deceived by appearances. They are just soft-bodied creatures that evolved into this form to escape from humans."

The wizard paused halfway through his sentence before continuing, "Of course, this will also incur the curse of the sea. It is said that after consuming the beauty shell, your flesh will emit an aura that is particularly attractive to sirens."

It was Green who made the first move!

In order to impress the wizard, Green closed his eyes, raised his head, and after making a great decision, the beauty in the seashell slid into Green's mouth, and then down his throat into his stomach.

Green could even hear the desperate screams coming from inside his stomach.

Controlling his strange feelings and the urge to vomit, Green nonchalantly began to eat the fresh beef dipped in foie gras, though his eyes kept twitching and his expression was extremely unnatural.

The other three boys, Jochlis, Wade, and Gillum, looked grim, but they all tilted their heads back and swallowed the beauty shells. For a moment, faint screams echoed from their stomachs throughout the hall.

Only Yokri's sister, Yokriana, hesitated, but ultimately did not taste the beauty shell, shaking her head and pushing it aside.

What a kind little girl!

Overall, the dinner went smoothly, and Green witnessed the true luxury of the aristocracy.

According to Green, the main dishes alone for this dinner would cost no less than two hundred gold coins. As for the beauty shells, such a "rare delicacy" is definitely priceless.

The next day, Green ran quickly to the Viscount’s mansion to find his old carriage. Raffi and Wade, who were behind the wizard in the distance, rolled their eyes. This guy was wasting their time just for such a broken carriage.

How many gold coins is this broken carriage worth?

"Damn it, didn't you hear yesterday? If you come any closer, I'll break your legs!"

The old butler happened to see Green rushing over in a panic, roaring.

However, deep down, the old butler still hoped that Green would back down today and hand over the benefits, because after a busy day yesterday, the old butler realized that he had forgotten to find a suitable contractor.

If the Viscount's banquet tonight isn't prepared properly, it will be no small matter.

"Well……"

Green glanced at the Viscount's courtyard and saw his carriage. Yesterday, the carriage had clearly been parked outside, so it must have been taken inside by the Viscount's men.

"Master Steward, I've got the carriage ready, we'll be leaving right away."

Becoming a wizard's apprentice was an incredible opportunity; Green was even willing to forgo the last gold coin in his house, but he was reluctant to part with the old horse.

This was left behind by old Ham, and Green had some affection for it and didn't want it to be left destitute.

"Well……"

The old butler was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting Green to say such a thing, and then he flew into a rage.

"You bastard! You lowly commoner! Get out of here if you want, there are no carriages here, Sgarda, throw him out."

The old steward was genuinely determined to steal this carriage.

As the massive, ox-like figure approached, Green swallowed hard. Just then, a cold snort echoed from afar: "The dignity of a wizard is inviolable!"

A beam of black light shot towards the big guy walking towards Green.

Despite being a knight, the big guy reacted quickly, dodging the black light in a sorry state. The black light struck the door frame of the Viscount's mansion and turned into a large swarm of terrifying black insects.

Each insect is only the size of a fingernail, with a pair of transparent wings and fierce, powerful mandibles; there are approximately seven or eight thousand of them.

Upon seeing this scene, the knight suddenly realized something, his face changed drastically, and he cried out, "Master Wizard, spare my life!"

"snort!"

The wizard completely ignored him; to the wizard, the knight was just a larger insect that knew how to run away.

After the wizard chanted the incantation, he pointed with one hand, and the body of the panicked knight who was begging for mercy began to slowly transform into a little pig!

Green, standing nearby, was so surprised his jaw almost dropped to the ground. Had he really turned into a pig?

Seven or eight thousand black insects swarmed forward, howling as the knight, who had been turned into a pig, was devoured.

On the other side, the old butler had never seen such a scene before.

He usually bullied the servants, farmers, and laborers working for him, but now he was so frightened that he stared blankly at the howling pig.

Just then, a long tongue shot out with incredible speed towards the old butler. With a sharp tug, the old butler vanished from sight in an instant, moving at breakneck speed.

"Coo coo coo..."

A large, red-eyed frog gradually shrank from seven or eight meters tall to the size of a palm before jumping into the wizard's hand.

Those who saw these incredible powers from afar were already stunned, staring at the mysterious wizard with fear. Green was also so shocked that he couldn't speak for a long time.

This was the first time Green had ever witnessed murder, especially such a bizarre one!

The surroundings were so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Is this what a wizard is?

The dignity of a wizard must not be violated!

Indeed, for ordinary people, wizards who possess magic and sorcery are truly terrifying.

Green clenched his fists tightly. Sooner or later, he would become a wizard. When that happened, if anyone dared to offend him, he would erase all traces of their existence!

Green desperately wanted it.

Coming to his senses, Green swallowed hard and tried to calm himself down. He quickly led his old carriage to the blacksmith's shop and said a final goodbye to his dumbfounded sixth brother.

"Hey, hey, Lao Ba, it can't be true, right? You're really going to become a wizard?"

The sixth brother asked for the seventh time in disbelief.

Green gave a wry smile: "Just a wizard apprentice..."

"Very well, wizard apprentice... are you really, really going to become a wizard?"

When the sixth brother asked for the eighth time, Green could only smile wryly.
