Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons
Chapter 22 Wow, I love my brother the most!
In the afternoon, the ship successfully docked at the harbor on Dragon Stone Island.
The acting lord in charge of managing Dragonstone had already received the raven's message.
He not only prepared a banquet well in advance, but also wrote down the recent situation of the two dragons in detail on paper and reported it to King Viserys.
"Your Majesty, please board the carriage and allow us to escort you, the Queen, and the princes and princesses back to Dragonstone."
Viserys patted the acting lord on the shoulder with satisfaction. "Good job."
Afterwards, he led his family into the carriage in a joyful atmosphere.
Viserys, as king, sat in the very center.
On the left are the eldest son and eldest daughter, whom the family loves the most.
On the right are Alison, Helena, and Aegon, who is so seasick he doesn't want to talk.
Damon was rather lonely; he didn't sit on the left or the right, but simply sat near the entrance, quietly watching them.
Kolachu and Syracuse were allowed to fly freely after their pilots landed on Dragonstone.
Having become familiar with Dragonstone, they automatically return to their lair to rest at dusk.
"Vomisol and Silverwing, are they still the same as before?" Viserys lifted the curtain and asked the acting lord who was following him on horseback.
The acting lord replied respectfully, "Your Majesty, no, on the contrary, the behavior of these two dragons is rather strange."
"The Vomisol, which had been dormant, would often fly out of its lair during the day and don its most docile silver wings at night."
"The dragon guards on night watch say they often hear dragon roars at certain times in the dead of night. We wonder if it's that wild dragon called Gluttonous that has broken in?"
Viserys had long heard of this infamous dragon that devoured baby dragons and dragon eggs.
It is said to be a second-generation dragon that hatched on Dragonstone alongside Vormisor. Its size far exceeds that of Silverwing at the same time, and its combat power and growth potential are comparable to Vormisor's.
If there is a drawback, it is that no one has ever seen a glutton, nor does anyone know its character or nature.
"Is it certain that this wild dragon is the Glutton?" Viserys frowned.
"Your Majesty, we are merely making a reasonable judgment. The only dragon that can make both Vomisol and Silverwing wary is the Glutton."
"As for evidence... aside from the dragon's roar and the abnormal behavior of the two dragons, I think that should be sufficient as evidence." The acting lord lowered his head, feeling extremely guilty about this statement.
Viserys frowned slightly.
This is a matter of family honor and the life of the eldest son. For a deputy leader to dare to give a "guessing answer" is beyond dereliction of duty.
Damon noticed that Viserys was in a difficult position, so he turned to him and questioned him:
"If you don't know, why don't you look it up?"
"The royal family pays you with money and resources just to answer these questions that are dumber than a prostitute's?!"
"Please forgive me, Your Highness, we are already making efforts to investigate."
"But that wild dragon called Glutton is far too cunning. No one has ever seen what it looks like, and no one has ever searched for any trace of it."
After saying this, the acting lord immediately dismounted and knelt before the king to apologize.
After Damon's lecture, Viserys felt much better, as the acting lord did not shirk his responsibility.
Secondly, he was a kind and benevolent king, and indiscriminate killing of innocent people would damage his long-standing reputation.
"Seeing how sincere you are, your king has forgiven your sins."
"But you must find out about that wild dragon as soon as possible. If the same mistake is made again, I will cut off your head."
"Thank you, Your Majesty!"
"I assure you, this mistake will never happen again!" the acting lord exclaimed excitedly.
After traveling for some time, the carriage finally entered the castle.
The acting city lord timed it perfectly, serving the prepared food just as the king's family finished washing up.
After half a day, Viserys and his party were already starving. They only chatted briefly before getting absorbed in the delicious food.
After everyone had finished eating, Baylor prepared to leave the table first and go back to his room to rest.
"Get some rest. Once the acting lord has finished gathering intelligence, you can go to the dragon's lair to tame the dragon."
Viserys had heard of the legend of the Glutton in his youth. It was a dragon that was said to be extremely cruel, violent, and unpredictable by the people, and was likened to the embodiment of an evil god on the continent of Westeros.
While the popular lore may contain exaggerations, it is indeed a second-generation dragon from the same era as Vormisor and Silverwing, and a wild dragon that has never had a master and has never been tamed.
Its level of danger is absolutely no less than that of Vaghar.
"Father, I understand."
Beller left the table and hugged his father and sister goodbye.
"Brother, don't forget me! Don't forget me!"
"You haven't hugged me yet!" Helena stretched out her hands and looked at Baylor coquettishly.
Allison looked at Helena in disbelief, a bad feeling creeping into her heart. "Helena, your brother needs to go back and rest. Don't disturb him!"
Helena stubbornly shook her head. "My brother will hug me. He loves me the most!"
"Right, brother?"
Seeing Helena's expectant gaze, Baylor reluctantly went back and coaxed her, saying, "Yes, yes, brother likes Helena the most."
Helena happily nuzzled Belle's face.
Then, Baylor put Helena back in her place, his gaze inadvertently glancing at Aegon beside him.
Similarly, he saw Aegon's gaze, a mixture of expectation and a need to maintain composure, as if to say, "What about me? What about me? Is it my turn?"
Baylor's smile vanished instantly, and he chose to ignore it without hesitation.
"Oh my, it's been so long! You two siblings have such a good relationship." Renella rested her chin on her hand and smiled at Beller.
"No, no, I'm just fulfilling Helena's request as her younger sister."
After he finished speaking, Baylor suddenly felt that something was amiss.
It was just a family member saying goodbye and hugging. Why does it feel like a love triangle from a folk tale?
Wow!
"My dear brother, you are such a good older brother."
Beller didn't dare to reply and could only make up an excuse to quickly leave the restaurant.
Viserys sat in the main seat, watching the departing Baylor, as well as Rhaenyra and Helena.
His expression wasn't exactly strange, but it was also quite complex, as if he was considering the feasibility of something.
After Baylor left, the dinner party ended smoothly, and Viserys called out to Damon, who was about to leave.
"Go to Baylor's room and use your extensive experience in taming dragons to tell him how to avoid getting hurt when facing a dragon."
Damon smiled helplessly. "My dear brother, I'm very tired. We can talk about it tomorrow."
"The more days you tell Baylor, the more experience he'll have to draw upon."
"This is not a conversation, it's an order!" Viserys said sternly.
Damon smiled helplessly and had no choice but to obey and go find his good nephew in the room.
