Great Voyage: My Summoned Creatures Can Level Up While Idle
Chapter 6 The Tragedy of White Sand Town
After killing the two pirates, Roya's figure also came up from the lower stairs, and he took the weapons the two had used.
He held a scimitar in one hand and a short-barreled smoothbore musket in the other, which was already loaded with ammunition and ready to fire with a pull of the trigger.
The ship's dining room has four doors: the front door leads to the open deck, the rear door leads to the kitchen, the left door leads to the corridor and medical room, and the right door leads to the armory, which stores spare weapons and ammunition.
Luo Ya opened the front door of the restaurant and walked out, where a salty, fishy sea breeze carrying thick smoke blew in.
The Red Pearl was anchored on a makeshift dock, with burning houses nearby that had collapsed from artillery fire.
As dawn broke, the fire in the burning house began to subside.
Looking out over the street, Roya saw some pirate figures moving about, breaking down the doors of the townspeople's houses, searching and looting. Every now and then, there were women's screams and the sound of pirates laughing loudly.
Ah-Dai leaped lightly and jumped off the deck, which was several meters high.
Roya, on the other hand, was much less capable and had to climb down the rope ladder along the side of the boat.
One person and one spirit walked into the town from the dock, one after the other.
Just then, three pirates carrying sacks came out. Their scimitars were stained with blood, and they wore three or five silver and gold necklaces around their necks and many rings on their hands.
When they saw the skeleton soldiers walking ahead, they were all taken aback.
The next moment, Ah Dai slashed one of them down.
"Enemy attack!"
The remaining two then realized what was happening, shouted, dropped the sacks, and went into battle mode.
Ah Dai remained ruthless, and with a flick of his bone knife, he severed the head of a pirate.
The last pirate lost all morale and turned to run away.
"Bang!"
The sound of muskets rang out.
A lead bullet struck the fleeing pirate in the calf, causing him to scream and fall to the ground.
The skeleton soldier Ah-Dai quickly caught up and killed him with a single blow.
"My aim was a bit off." Roya shook his head helplessly. He had aimed at the pirate's back and torso, but he hit the man's calf instead.
The short-barreled musket needed to be reloaded with gunpowder and lead bullets, but Roya didn't have time for the moment. He tucked the musket into his waistband and continued forward with the skeleton soldier, Adai.
His goal was clear: Johnny's head.
As he approached a street corner, Roya heard the sound of metal clashing and a muffled groan ahead.
Soon, he saw several men covered in blood, surrounded by seven pirates.
Four or five townspeople were lying on the ground nearby, but not a single pirate was injured or killed.
Roya discovered that the townspeople were no match for the pirates; the pirates were simply playing around to avoid getting hurt and were just having a cat-and-mouse game.
"Snap, snap!"
The sound of Ah-Dai's footsteps was heard by the pirates on the outside. When they turned around, they saw a skeleton soldier walking towards them.
"Undead? How could there be undead in this town?" The pirates were filled with doubt and surprise.
Undead are actually quite common, especially at sea, where legends of ghost ships and ghost towns are even more prevalent.
Seeing the skeleton soldiers charging towards them, the three on the outer perimeter felt a chill run down their spines, but they had no choice but to grit their teeth and fight them off.
"puff!"
Ah-Dai's bone knife pierced a pirate's chest, and two curved blades simultaneously struck the skeleton soldier's head, only causing Ah-Dai to tilt his head slightly.
"How can he be so strong!" The remaining two people's expressions changed drastically.
"what!"
A scream rang out, and the four pirates who were surrounding and killing the militia glanced over out of the corner of their eyes and were immediately startled.
The three pirates who went to intercept the skeleton soldiers have been killed!
The four realized that it was probably not a spirit that ordinary people could deal with; only extraordinary individuals could be its opponent.
"run!"
Seeing that the enemy was formidable, the pirates abandoned the militia who were resisting and fled in panic into the depths of the town.
The militiamen also spotted the suddenly appearing skeleton soldiers, their faces turning pale, but they still cautiously aimed their weapons at Ah-Dai.
Roya had no intention of harming the militiamen, but instead ordered the skeleton soldiers to chase after the fleeing pirates.
"what!"
The screams of pirates came from ahead.
Looking around, Roya saw that three of the fleeing pirates had already fallen, and the last pirate was being carried by a strong old man.
The pirate's face was ashen, and he looked like he couldn't breathe.
"How many people are on your ship? How many of them are superhumans?!" the burly old man roared.
"Grandpa, you're going to strangle him to death!" A helpless voice rang out from the side.
The blue-haired girl looked utterly helpless.
Upon hearing this, the old man finally released the pirate.
The pirate fell to the ground, coughing as he said, "We only have two superhumans left on our ship. The captain is over there in the square. He captured most of the townspeople and is carrying out a bloody pirate ritual."
Upon hearing this, the old man's expression changed. The pirate ritual was an evil ancient ritual. In order to make the captives become his subordinates and cut off their escape route, they had to kill their own relatives, friends, brothers, sisters, the elderly, women and children with their own hands, so that their minds would be completely plunged into darkness.
The hot-tempered old man killed the pirate with a single blow.
"Old Adam, Dr. Sophia!"
The militiamen, covered in blood, shouted excitedly.
Behind them were Roya and the skeleton soldier Adai.
Fearing that the grandfather and grandson who had just appeared might misunderstand, Luo Ya brought over the militiamen.
"Who are you!?" Old Adam looked at Roya and the skeleton soldier beside him with a serious expression.
"I have a grudge against these pirates."
Roya shrugged, indicating that he meant no harm. He couldn't very well tell the truth that he was a former pirate, or a fight would break out.
He wasn't afraid of old Adam and his grandson, but rather wanted to keep Ah-Dai in good shape to deal with One-Eyed Johnny.
In Roya's eyes, the true nature of old Adam and the girl named Sophia had already been exposed.
[Old Adam, Level 3]
Sophia, Level 8
Old Adam, who looked like a retired powerhouse, was actually just a Level 3 Extraordinary Apprentice.
The seemingly frail girl, though of a higher level than Roya, appeared to be quite unskilled in combat, judging from her skill in carrying a herb bag and helping the townspeople treat their injuries.
"Are you a bounty hunter? Do you know anything about this pirate gang?" the old man asked, frowning.
"The remnants of the Red Pearl Pirates," Roya replied casually, before continuing on with the skeleton soldiers.
After Sophia finished rescuing the townspeople, she looked at Roya's retreating figure and asked with concern, "Grandpa, he is actually...?"
"Alright, let's follow them. With this bounty hunter around, we won't feel so much pressure," Old Adam interrupted Sophia.
Now is not the time to create unnecessary trouble. He understands that the situation is urgent and it is not advisable to make enemies.
He didn't encounter any other pirates on the rest of the journey until he arrived at a plaza paved with granite.
Most of the town's people were gathered in the square, huddled in corners trembling. Some children couldn't stop crying, but the women would immediately cover their mouths.
Seven or eight pirates guarded the townspeople, their faces bearing mocking, bloodthirsty smiles.
One-Eyed Johnny stood in the center of the square, with a dark-skinned young man and a mother and daughter embracing tightly in front of him.
The young man held a curved knife in his hand, but his whole body was trembling.
"Kill them, and you can join our Red Pearl Pirate Crew, otherwise~" Johnny grinned, his tone like that of a devil luring mortals step by step into the abyss.
The young man's gaze unconsciously drifted to a spot not far away, where two corpses lay split in two—the consequence of disobedience and resistance.
"I'm sorry, Aunt Susan," the young man apologized, crying, before raising his scimitar.
With blood splattering, the young man slit his own neck with his scimitar, and the body collapsed limply.
"Tsk." Johnny, the one-eyed man, looked displeased.
But he had plenty of time, and he refused to believe there weren't cowards in the town. "Next!"
Upon hearing this, the pirates began searching the crowd.
Just then, the skeleton soldier Ah-Dai rushed forward, his bone blade slashing towards One-Eyed Johnny.
"!!"
