Chapter 77 Left Path

Chapter 77 Left Path

In mid-March, Chu Ming left the wilderness and came to the Yangtze River. He followed the path along the river and eventually arrived at the Three Gorges.

At this point in time, the Three Gorges Project has been completed. Before the completion of the Three Gorges Project, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River were prone to floods, but with the completion of the Three Gorges Project, these problems have become a thing of the past.

Standing on high ground, Chu Ming watched the surging river water constantly crashing against the dam made of reinforced concrete. His thoughts drifted to that distant era, where the ancients built dams to block water, dug rivers and canals, and opened mountains to release floodwaters, thus creating a bright and clear world.

They fought against the heavens and the earth, enduring calamities of water and fire, and earthquakes, trying every possible means to survive.

And it is precisely because of that desire to survive that we have such a glorious and brilliant civilization today!

After passing the Three Gorges, Chu Ming found a light boat, boarded it, and rode the wind and waves towards the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

Along the way, Chu Ming saw bridge after bridge, spanning dozens of miles, truly a bridge connecting north and south, turning a natural barrier into a thoroughfare!

Gradually, Chu Ming's mind became more and more clear and focused, and in the end, it seemed as if he had entered a wonderful state.

In this realm, wherever Chu Ming went, his spirit seemed to travel through distant times, witnessing his ancestors erecting the first bridge pier and pulling the first steel cable. As he strolled across the land, it was as if he had traversed time, witnessing history, the years, and civilization.

The journey was peaceful; Chu Ming was all alone, and no one bothered him.

He had once lived in seclusion, but he was eventually found. Now that he is traveling in the world, someone has finally found him.

The first to find Chu Ming were the people of the country. After all, this is China. Unless Chu Ming uses various means to distort people's hearts and erase traces, with the power of the country, if they really want to find someone, it's only a matter of time before they are found.

Of course, this is also because Chu Ming did not conceal his whereabouts. Otherwise, if he had cultivated his martial arts to such a level and wanted to hide, no one would have been able to find him.

It's not that Chu Ming can't hide, but that there's no need to anymore. With his current martial arts skills, even martial arts legends can't kill him, so he has no reason to hide himself.

True dragons are always upright and righteous, soaring high in the heavens, full of masculine energy, fearless of any challenge. Only the yin snake hides in dark corners, using all sorts of treacherous methods.

Chu Ming had expected to be found, but at this moment he was no longer afraid of any challenge. So what if people knew his whereabouts?!

At most, it would only add two or three more souls to his own body.

Above the Yangtze River, a bright moon hangs high in the sky, casting its cool moonlight.

The rippling water has a unique charm.

On the lone boat, Chu Ming stood with his hands behind his back, gazing at the woman opposite him.

She was an extremely beautiful woman, who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old, in the prime of her youth.

The woman wore a moon-white long dress, her hair was tied up, and a vermilion dot between her eyebrows resembled fresh blood. Her whole being exuded a sense of great peace and tranquility, just like a great Bodhisattva residing in the world.

At this moment, the great Bodhisattva stood on the river, with his feet on a bamboo pole about ten feet long.

Legend has it that Bodhidharma could cross the river on a single reed, which is already a legendary martial art. Although this great Bodhisattva's martial arts skills are high, he is still a step away from the legendary level and can only cross the river with a fishing rod.

Even so, this kind of martial arts is terrifying enough. You probably couldn't find more than twenty masters in the whole world.

River water, bright moon, gentle breeze, and beautiful woman—these four elements blend together to create an incredibly harmonious scene.

Far away on the riverbank, a middle-aged man was painting a scene on a canvas, depicting the view in the river.

Chu Ming's mind was already incredibly perceptive. Although the riverbank was far from him, the commotion there did not escape his notice. Chu Ming knew that the man painting by the river was a heretical practitioner.

What is unorthodox?

Anything other than martial arts is heretical!

Cultivation is not limited to martial arts; any art form, if mastered to its highest level, can lead to legendary achievements.

Just like Liang Xiao, the founder of the Eight Divisions, he was a mathematician who cultivated numbers to the extreme, developed his primordial spirit, and then used it to comprehend martial arts, undergoing a complete transformation, and finally leaving behind the legend of shattering the void.

Music, chess, calligraphy, painting, and all kinds of knowledge—no matter the path one takes, as long as one can comprehend the Dao, one can achieve legendary status.

It's just that compared to the easy path of martial arts, other paths are much more difficult, and only a handful of people succeed in them throughout history. In addition, there are not many people who take the unorthodox path, so it is called the unorthodox path!

The man painting by the river was someone Chu Ming had heard of before. He was a contemporary painting master named Jiang Taixu, whose skill in painting had reached the point where his brushstrokes were divine.

Although he did not practice martial arts, all his paintings contained extraordinary power. His most famous painting was "A Landscape of Ten Thousand Miles," which made ordinary people feel as if they were traveling through the vast landscape. It was because of this painting that Jiang Taixu earned the title of "Painting Sage."

He is considered by many to be the second person in history, after Liang Xiao, to have the opportunity to achieve a legendary status through unorthodox methods.

As for those who achieved myths through unorthodox methods throughout history, there were indeed some, the most famous of whom was Confucius.

On the Yangtze River, two unparalleled masters meet under the moon. How many times in a lifetime can such a scene be witnessed?

Chu Ming knew that Jiang Taixu wanted to use this scene to create a timeless painting and make it a legend!

"Chu Ming." The woman spoke, her voice ethereal and clear, as if it possessed the magic to cleanse the soul and wash away the dust from people's hearts.

In addition, her voice contained a strange vitality, like the warm sun of three days, full of the taste of life.

Chu Mingming knew that this was because his primordial spirit power had been developed to a certain extent, but since the other party was not a martial arts legend, there was still a slight disharmony between them.

Don't be fooled by the fact that the other party is only a hair's breadth away from becoming a martial arts legend. The difference between a crown prince and an emperor is also only a hair's breadth. Sometimes, that hair's breadth is the difference between a god and a human.

Before his enlightenment, Shakyamuni was only a step away from becoming a Buddha, but he was still a mortal. After his enlightenment, he became the eternal Buddha.

"It's me!" Chu Ming said, his expression utterly calm.

"Your blood has turned to pure Yang. It seems you've cultivated the Thunder Department's martial arts to their highest level. No wonder you were able to kill Qin Wudao." The woman's gaze remained fixed on Chu Ming. "Although Qin Wudao's talent was high, his heart was ultimately impure. Although he was already a top-tier Martial Saint, he could never truly transform his blood and qi into pure Yang!"

"But you are quite a surprise to me. I met you five years ago, and your talent was just average. Not to mention Qin Wudao, even Qin Xian'er's talent was a notch above yours. The only thing that stood out was your persistence!"

"At the time, I predicted that you would be a late bloomer, and that you would become famous twenty years from now."

"I didn't expect this..."
