Mystery: Death Singer

Chapter 60 Gathering Information

When Edric opened his eyes again, he had left the mysterious gray fog and returned to his cheap rented room in the real world. He got out of bed and stretched comfortably.

Although he has successfully advanced to the Rank 7 "Spiritualist" and recruited some pretty good spirits, Edric is not prepared to return to Tingen now, as that would be far too dangerous.

He planned to find something to do in Backlund while trying to digest the "Psychic" potion in his body.

Edric wasn't fully prepared to actually play the role of a real "psychic," but he already had a general direction.

As the saying goes, no matter how things change, the essence remains the same. To digest the "Spirit Summoner" potion, one must rely on its core ability, "spirit communication."

In other words, as long as he keeps using "spiritual communication" on various creatures, whether they are dead or alive, human or extraordinary, he will be able to get some kind of digestive feedback.

Even if he can't find any other more suitable way to play the role, as long as he continues to "communicate with spirits," Edric will eventually be able to digest the potion in his body.

Considering that Backlund harbors too many powerful individuals, Edric turned his attention to the ancient ruins that might exist near Backlund, or in other cities besides Tingen.

In this age of extraordinary scarcity, relics are actually a pretty good option.

First, places that can be called ruins are often located in deep mountains and forests far from cities. The excellent location ensures that, at least in the early to mid-stages of exploration, they are unlikely to attract the attention of official extraordinary individuals.

Secondly, in this era, it is absolutely impossible to see any extraordinary wild creatures other than spirits in the city. They can only be found on the vast ocean or in remote, untouched forests.

Third, relics themselves represent antiquity, and any item inside, even just one or two murals, could be extremely valuable in this day and age. As long as you don't come across a relic that has already been completely explored by others, you can always earn some money for your hard work.

Of course, Edric also knew that exploring the ruins was far more dangerous than venturing into the city.

Whether it's potential traps, other extraordinary individuals who have discovered the same ruins, or even powerful extraordinary creatures lurking within the ruins, these are all risks he must consider and prepare countermeasures for in advance.

After careful consideration, Edric chose to proactively select more recent sites with lower risk.

For example, he once saw someone at a gathering of the "Stargazing Ladies" looking for companions to explore a newly discovered ancient site near Backlund, a site that should absolutely be avoided.

To be able to attend the "Stargazing Lady's" gathering, one must be quite capable. They must either be close to the middle sequence, have already become a middle sequence extraordinary, or be a novice in mysticism with considerable wealth. Otherwise, they simply do not have the financial resources to purchase the various items at the gathering.

For example, the great "Master of the Bathroom" Klein Moretti has now been promoted to Sequence 8 Clown, but if he were to attend a party hosted by the powerful extraordinary "Stargazer," would he be able to buy the Sequence 7 potion recipe that is being sold at the party and is worth at least eight hundred pounds?

In short, these relic exploration missions, which can be used to seek companions at high-end gatherings, require participants to be at least mid-sequence extraordinary individuals to join, and the dangers contained within the relics are even more unpredictable.

It might just be an ordinary ancient site, only the outer area is a little scary.

But there is another possibility: it is actually a hidden relic involving high-sequence powerhouses, and those lowly mid-sequence individuals who get involved will only face a near-death experience.

Edric couldn't be sure, so he simply chose not to gamble.

Backlund has so many wild Extraordinary beings, and there are many small, low-level Extraordinary gatherings. Although there is little information about relics at these gatherings, the level of these gatherings is not very high.

However, while the rewards are limited, there are always trade-offs. The relics involved in such messages are often safer, at least for Edric, who has already advanced to the rank of "psychic".

Edric placed the "Rage" revolver into his armpit holster, and then filled the concealed pockets of his specially made worker's uniform with powders, essential oils, and perfumes.

After getting ready, he left his rented room wearing a baseball cap and walked towards the "Braveheart Bar" on Iron Gate Street in the Backlund Bridge area.

Edric planned to first ask Marich when the mission would begin, and then ask him or Sharon if they knew of any other gatherings of extraordinary individuals, nothing too high-level, just something similar to the one hosted by the old man "Eye of Wisdom".

He had only been in Backlund for half a month, and instead of wasting time searching for clues about other extraordinary gatherings, he might as well ask the "local bigwigs" directly.

Inside the "Braveheart Bar," after listening to Edric explain his purpose, Maric pondered for a few seconds before speaking with some irritation:

"We need some time to prepare. After all, the other side is not weak, and the risk of acting hastily is too great."

He wouldn't tell Edric that the real reason was limited funds; Sharon hadn't been able to buy that powerful magical item, resulting in a current lack of means to combat the "Crimson Corona."

Edric glanced at Marich with a strange look in his eyes. He had a feeling that the guy had some kind of inexplicable guilty conscience, and even his voice was much softer than before.

But that was fine, since that wasn't his real purpose for coming to the "Braveheart Bar" anyway, so he calmly continued to ask:

"Do you know of any other places that regularly host gatherings of extraordinary individuals? The 'Stargazing Lady's' gatherings are a bit too high-end for me right now."

Marich glanced at Edric and, without pausing, rattled off five locations: two in the East District, two in the Bridge District, and one in the West District, where many nobles and wealthy merchants gathered.

After Edric had memorized all these locations, he suppressed his malice and added:

"I've only heard of their existence, but you'll have to verify the details yourself. Also, these gatherings aren't necessarily safe; they could very well be extensions of some clandestine organization."
