Mystery: Death Singer
Chapter 57 A Gathering of Heroes
The summoning was quite successful, and as he had initially predicted, Sannes was indeed a very powerful spirit.
This is a good thing for Edric, but not so good.
If Edric were to use "Spirit Summoning" on Sannes, he even had a premonition that he would be "bursted" to the point of bursting, as his current strength was far from sufficient to bear the opponent.
With a sigh, Edric sealed the room again. His sudden summoning of Sannes was an accident. He would need to continue trying to summon other spirits hiding in the spirit world and the underworld, and select suitable ones from the responders who could serve as his regular fighting force at this stage.
He lit the candle and spoke again in ancient Hermes in a deep voice:
"I!
"I summon in my own name:"
"Spirits that roam the upper realms, friendly beings that can communicate, unique beings willing to establish a connection with me."
Call ~
The wind howled again, but this time the candlelight did not turn a somber green; it remained a bright yellow, slowly growing larger under Edric's calm gaze.
Soon, a twisted figure, missing both arms, wrapped in blood-stained bandages, with even its head completely encased in bandages, slowly appeared before Edric.
The spirit's consciousness wasn't very clear, but Edric still managed to establish a simple connection with it because it quite liked "moon oil".
The only drawback is that this twisted figure is very similar to the "madman" that Marich once mentioned, and is probably at the Sequence Eight level. Even if "spiritual communication" is performed, the boost it can provide to Edric is not much.
After sending the "madman" away, Edric lit candles and performed the ritual again, but this time he changed "the upper realm" in the incantation to "the underworld," hoping to summon a useful undead or necromancer.
This time, the flickering candlelight was incredibly pale, exuding a strong aura of death.
The next second, a wolf-shaped spirit with a dark blue body and scarlet eyes leaped out of the firelight and landed steadily about two meters in front of Edric.
Just as Edric was about to ask if the wolf spirit had established a connection with him, the pale flame suddenly swelled up considerably, and one after another, wolf spirits with the same appearance leaped out of the flame, quickly filling the entire room.
Edric counted carefully and found that there were sixteen wolf spirits in the room. Fifteen of them were about the same size, but the wolf spirit that leaped out of the firelight first was different. It was about two sizes larger than the other wolf spirits, like the wolf king of this underworld wolf pack.
After a brief exchange, the wolf king raised its head and let out a cold, long howl. One by one, the remaining wolf spirits entered its body.
The fusion with the other wolf spirits gave the wolf king some benefit; its size expanded once again, quickly becoming at least three times its original size, and extremely ferocious bone spurs grew all over its body, making it look quite terrifying.
Edric was very pleased with the wolf spirit's current appearance and immediately asked in Ancient Hermes:
"Would you like to establish a connection with me and answer my call at certain times? In return, I will provide you with essential oils or perfumes that bring you pleasure, or other reasonable things within my means."
The wolf king's head bobbed up and down, as if carefully examining Edric. After a few silent seconds, it nodded slightly and then let out a low growl that clearly indicated submission.
After successfully establishing contact, Edric immediately paid the Wolf King a bottle of his newly concocted "Breath of Rot," and then unhesitatingly used "Spirit Summoning." The target of this summoning was none other than the Wolf King, who had already agreed on the terms and was ready to go.
As Edric and the Wolf King merged into one, his physical attributes were further enhanced. He grew taller and his limbs became much longer than those of an ordinary person, to the point that they were somewhat frightening.
But the surprises the wolf king brought to Edric went far beyond that. The wolf king, or rather the entire wolf pack, was born out of the special nature of the underworld. As long as any one of them had a spirit, they could keep returning from the underworld.
Apart from the Wolf King, each of the fifteen wolf spirits was only slightly weaker than the "Madman" that Edric had just sent away.
There is a clear difference in physical ability between the wolf spirit and the "madman," but in terms of speed and the threat posed by sharp claws and teeth, even if the "madman" were to ride in a carriage, it would not be able to catch up with either of them.
As for the Wolf King, its level is already above that of the "Madman," reaching Sequence Seven.
If the Wolf King were to merge with other wolf spirits and disregard the potential damage, it could unleash power comparable to any Sequence 7 Extraordinary in a short period, enough to relieve Edric's pressure or create openings.
As he watched the wolf king disappear into the pale firelight with his gifts, Edric's lips curled into an uncontrollable smile.
He performed three spirit summoning rituals tonight, and each one was very successful.
Of the three summons, Sannes was the strongest, and it represented the most promising future, enough to ensure that Edric would no longer have to worry about whether he possessed a powerful spiritual body before becoming a demigod.
While "Madman" is the weakest, it is indeed an excellent tank, and even actively expressed to Edric its desire to endure more damage and pain, making it far more useful than the zombies that Edric can currently create with the help of the bone pendant.
As for the wolf king and his pack, they are currently the spirits that can provide the greatest help to Edric.
With these formidable helpers who are highly skilled in hunting and pursuit, can pass through walls, possess dark vision, and never tire, we can achieve great things.
Edric felt that although he had only just been promoted to Sequence Seven, he was already one of the top experts at this level.
He even began to wonder when the mission Marich had mentioned would begin, and he couldn't wait to test his strength against that "werewolf" Tyr.
After a period of intense emotion, Edric calmed down and entered a meditative state, quickly shaking off the state of being enveloped by various feelings of arrogance.
Once he calmed down, Edric realized that he was in Backlund. Even disregarding the three major churches and the official Beyonders of Rune himself, there were still a considerable number of Beyonders hiding in the city, many of whom could easily defeat him.
For example, "Lady Stargazer," and Sharon, whose appearance and manner of appearance are like those of a female ghost...
Even Maric, who always gives Edric a comedic feel, is a mountain he cannot yet climb.
