I opened a clinic in the Abyss World

Chapter 74 A Turbulent World

He opened the stopper with great caution, yet he almost fell into a trap.

This potion is truly malevolent.

Looking at the cage again, the little white mice that were originally huddled in the corner have all come to the bars, sticking out their pink noses and sniffing the scent of the potion in the air, looking somewhat restless.

"Give them the medicine first. Given their size, one drop at a time should be about right," Charlotte muttered to herself, as she began administering the potion to the mice.

This stuff is very attractive to mice, so the feeding process is very simple; ten mice were fed it in no time.

Charlotte closed the cage, took a half step back, and observed the mouse's reaction after taking the medicine.

It was thought that the drug would take some time to take effect, but unexpectedly, the mice in the cage became excited in no time.

Jerry 1 was spinning wildly in its cage, Jerry 2 started banging its head against the bars, Jerry 3 was gripping the bars and making strange howling noises, Jerry 4 was behaving slightly better and started rolling around in place, while Jerry 5 seemed a bit confused and actually started doing push-ups...

Watching the mice excitedly absorbed in their own world, Charlotte took a pen and made a note of their behavior before turning and going downstairs.

This will be the period of heightened drug use; drug testing can only be conducted after the effects of the medication wear off and the craving begins.

He went to the alchemy room, wrote down several recipes on paper, added or subtracted a few medicinal herbs in different proportions, and then brewed several batches of medicine again.

He didn't believe that the original owner could concoct the perfect potion, the Aversion Potion, by simply grabbing a few ingredients.

But pharmaceutical manufacturing is a very rigorous and complex discipline, and he was extremely unprofessional.

We can only make minor modifications to the existing formula in an attempt to find the optimal solution.

For example, it can reduce adverse reactions after taking the medication and lower the potential mortality rate.

This will play a crucial role in the widespread adoption of the Potion Aversion Agent.

As Capas looked at the secret letter that had just been delivered to him, his face gradually darkened.

Seeing Capas's grim expression, Bill asked, "Your Excellency, did the Duke's letter mention anything important?"

"Father said that Vivian has appeared in the capital," Capas said through gritted teeth. "Damn it! How did that brat get back to the capital?!"

"How is that possible! We've been tracking her all the way... she should have gone into the abyss." Bill was equally shocked.

"No mistake, Father said the notebook has appeared in the capital. He wants us to return to the capital as quickly as possible, catch that girl, and retrieve the notebook." Capas handed the secret letter to Bill, then slammed his fist on the table. "Damn it! We've been played."

Bill took the secret letter and read it carefully for a while. His expression turned serious as he said, "I'll arrange the flying mounts. We'll set off back to the capital first thing tomorrow morning."

Capas nodded slightly and muttered to himself, "It seems the marriage to Elizabeth will have to be postponed for a while. But Charlotte must die!"

……

Towa Street, West Bar.

"What did you say?!" The burly Siba abruptly sat up from his comfortable recliner. "That damned tailor was barely clinging to life, yet he managed to kill both of them with scissors and escape unscathed?"

"No...no, boss, they were killed by someone else, one sword at a time," the kobold said in a trembling voice. "It might be related to that guy who stole the potions today; he used a sword."

Siba's expression shifted between light and dark. Tonight, someone had stolen magic potions in the street. The Black Guards had practically turned Towa Street upside down, but they still hadn't caught the culprit.

This person is quite bold, and probably quite strong as well.

I wonder what their relationship is with Ivan, and whether he will come knocking on my door.

Although the Siba Tavern also sells potions, it was only because the adults of the Judson family had given him a little bit of soup between their fingers, and he had to beg and plead to get it.

He's not very brave; he usually bullies the weak and fears the strong, which is how he's managed to survive until today.

"Go and inform a Black Guard master that the dead tailor and his daughter are connected to the person who stole the potion," Siba ordered.

"Since I can't have her, then I'll destroy her." A cruel smile appeared on Siba's greasy face. "The abyss is only so big; I'd like to see where you two can hide..."

……

Nightmare Street, inside that majestic black palace.

Carol stood with her head bowed before an extremely burly tiger-headed orc and whispered, "Father, Kapas's sudden return to the capital, has something happened there?"

"This is not something we need to worry about." Elton, a great tyrant of the Abyss, spoke in a deep voice, his tiger-like eyes sweeping over his youngest son. "But you, a mere human whose magical essence has been destroyed, how come you haven't killed him after all these days?"

The dissatisfaction in his tone, coupled with the terrifying pressure of a level seven expert, made Carol lower her head even further. "This kid somehow got involved with Diana. That woman sent fox guards to watch over him around the clock. In order to avoid a direct conflict with the Harriman family, she can't make a move."

"When have we ever had to consider the whims of those foxes when we're doing things?" Elton's voice turned cold.

"I've already sent Wolverine; he'll take his life tonight," Carol said hastily.

Elton stopped asking questions after hearing this and whispered, "Once Cromwell's channels are established, the other three families will no longer be necessary. The Abyss doesn't need the four great families."

"I'd be happy to help you." Carol's eyes gleamed with excitement.

Having eliminated the other three families, the Judson family will become the sole power in the Abyss, completely controlling the entire Abyss.

With Dora by their side, Ivan stumbled and staggered his way out of Tova Street, relying on his familiarity with the streets and alleys.

Just as he breathed a sigh of relief, he was robbed by two wandering drug addicts.

Ivan intended to hand over his money in order to escape.

Unexpectedly, after taking the money, the two still had designs on Dora.

Enraged, Ivan took advantage of the two men's momentary lapse in attention, pulled out scissors and stabbed one of them to death, then wrestled with the other.

Although Ivan eventually killed his opponent, he was stabbed in the thigh and abdomen, bleeding profusely.

Ivan, already weakened, gradually lost his vision. Dora's panicked cries attracted the nearby vagrants, who, like jackals smelling blood, swarmed towards them.

Ivan gripped the scissors tightly, a bitter smile of despair on his face. He knew all too well what fate awaited Dora once he fell.

Just then, a magnificent carriage pulled by four pure black horses drove down the long street. A lamp made of animal oil hung in front of the carriage, making the striking red cross emblem stand out.

A light suddenly shone in Ivan's dazed eyes. With all his might, he grabbed Dora's hand and lunged toward the carriage, collapsing in the middle of the street.

The coachman was startled and quickly pulled on the reins.

The black horse's hooves almost touched Ivan's face before it came to a stop.

"What's going on?" A gentle voice sounded from inside the car.

"Director, a man and a little girl bumped into the carriage and seem to be injured. I'll go and chase them away," the coachman replied, and was about to jump off the carriage.

"Wait." The carriage door opened, and a young man stepped out. He looked at the man who had collapsed in front of the carriage, his life hanging in the balance, and the little girl sitting on the ground crying helplessly. His handsome brows furrowed slightly.

He looked around and saw a dozen pairs of eyes watching them from the darkness.

"Bring them to the carriage," Roland ordered.

"Yes." The two guards jumped off the carriage, one picked up Ivan and the other picked up Dora, and got into the carriage.

The carriage doors closed, and the carriage continued forward, with no one daring to step forward.
