For the next two days, A-Ling brought him food and water every day.

The food was ordinary sea fish, devoid of spiritual power, merely enough to fill his stomach, offering little help in the recovery of his injuries.

Li Hanshan lost his storage bag in the storm, and he didn't have many spirit stones on him, so his injuries were healing very slowly.

On the morning of the third day, as usual, Ayan ran to his side and squatted down, resting her chin on her hand as she looked at him.

Li Hanshan opened his eyes and asked, "Ayan, where does the monster meat you usually eat come from?"

Ayan thought for a moment and said, "They came from a battle! During each beast tide, the gods hunt down many monsters and distribute them to the villagers. Normally, people catch small fish and shrimp in the shallow waters near the island, and occasionally they might encounter a lone sea beast, but they're not very big and don't have much meat."

Li Hanshan nodded: "Then how do I get some demon beast meat to heal my injuries?"

Ah Ling's voice came from the side: "You want demon beast meat?"

Li Hanshan turned his head and saw that A Ling was standing not far away, holding a rough earthenware bowl in her hand. The bowl was steaming and contained several pieces of grayish-white meat.

The pieces of meat had a faint fishy smell, but they contained much more energy than the grilled fish he had eaten in the past two days.

Although it was only the flesh of a first-tier demon beast, it did contain residual spiritual energy.

I asked for some for you.

"A-Ling walked over and placed the earthenware bowl in front of him. 'This was left over from the beast tide a while ago; my family didn't get much. You're badly injured; eating this should help you recover faster.'"

Ayan whispered from the side, "My sister gave you the last piece of monster meat in our family; she was originally going to save it for me..."

Before he could finish speaking, he was glared at by Ah Ling and shrank back.

"Thank you." Li Hanshan did not refuse, picked up the earthenware bowl, and ate the pieces of monster meat.

Although the meat was coarse, the energy it contained flowed down his esophagus into his stomach, transforming into a warm current that slowly flowed along his meridians. Although it was just the most ordinary monster meat, it did indeed help his injuries—the tiny cracks in his meridians healed much faster than before under the nourishment of this energy.

However, the effect is ultimately limited.

With his current cultivation level, he would need at least the flesh of a third-tier or higher demon beast to have a noticeable recovery effect.

The few pieces in the bowl were merely scraps from a first-tier demon beast, better than nothing.

"This meat isn't enough." He put down the earthenware bowl, looked at A-Ling, and said frankly, "I need higher-grade demon beast meat. Do you... have any way to get it here?"

After a moment of silence, A-Ling said, "Only divine generals can obtain the meat of higher-grade demon beasts. Most of the high-level sea beasts they kill are offered to the Sea God Temple, and only those who have made meritorious contributions can receive a share."

She paused, her gaze turning serious. "With your injuries like this, it's unrealistic to expect any military merit. Let's focus on healing first."

Li Hanshan nodded and didn't ask any further questions.

He closed his eyes and regulated his breathing, thoroughly refining the energy from the pieces of demonic beast meat. He felt the warmth slowly flowing through his meridians, while pondering his next move.

Just then, he suddenly felt the ground beneath his feet move.

The movement was so subtle that it was almost imperceptible—like the ground beneath our feet breathing, undulating slightly.

Li Hanshan suddenly opened his eyes and looked down at the ground beneath his feet. The ground was covered with soil and gravel, and there was nothing unusual about it, but the slight undulation was real, one after another, even and slow, like some enormous creature breathing in its sleep.

"Ayan!" He turned sharply to look at the boy squatting beside him, "Your island..."

Ayan, however, didn't notice the unusual tone in his voice. Instead, her eyes lit up, and she leaped to her feet, her face flushed with excitement: "It's moving! Sister! The Sea God has awakened! The beast tide is coming!"

He took off running, shouting as he went, "The beast tide is coming! The sea god has awakened! Everyone, get ready!"

The villagers who had been busy around them also looked up, but instead of fear, they showed excitement. They picked up weapons such as fishing spears and machetes and rushed towards the shore.

Li Hanshan stood up and followed them to the seaside, where he saw countless sea beasts rushing madly towards the distant sea.

"Goodness."

These sea beasts are incredibly powerful; many of them are even comparable to Nascent Soul cultivators.

The strongest of the divine generals on this island is only comparable to the Golden Core stage. How are they going to defend it?

At this moment, Li Hanshan suddenly realized something and his eyes narrowed.

Deep beneath Poseidon Island, a giant tortoise shell slowly moves, causing the entire island to undulate slightly.

The tortoise shell was enormous, spanning dozens of miles in circumference, and Poseidon Island was built on its broad shell!

A gigantic turtle head slowly rose from the sea in front of the island. The head was like a small mountain, with eyes as big as millstones. The pupils held an ancient and profound light, cold and majestic, like an ancient god who had been sleeping for thousands of years.

When that gaze swept over Li Hanshan, he felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave, and he dared not move, even subconsciously holding his breath.

Although the gaze merely swept over his location without lingering, the oppressive feeling emanating from the depths of his soul prevented even the newly advanced Nascent Soul cultivator from having the thought of escaping.

This is the sea god.

It woke up.

The giant tortoise opened its mouth and let out a low growl.

The sound pierced through the seawater, echoing in the air, deep and resonant, as if it came from the depths of the seabed.

Immediately afterwards, huge waves began to surge on the sea surface.

The giant tortoise did not wait.

Its head suddenly emerged from the water, opening its enormous, abyss-like maw, and swallowed the oncoming horde of beasts whole.

Before the sea beasts could react, they were pulled into the giant mouth by an invisible suction force, without even a chance to struggle.

But the sea monsters seemed to have gone mad, showing no fear of death, and charged forward wave after wave.

The giant tortoise's movements appear slow, but they are actually incredibly fast.

Its neck, like a giant python, swept across the sea, each swing creating towering waves that swallowed swarms of sea creatures whole.

The screams, struggles, and splashes of the sea creatures mingled together in a chaotic mess.

"There seem to be even bigger ones behind us." Li Hanshan's gaze swept over the back of the beast horde.

Li Hanshan understood that this beast tide was clearly caused by other powerful sea beasts that had their eyes on the giant tortoise, so they were using the demonic beasts as cannon fodder to deplete the giant tortoise's power.
