Survival at Sea: I Became Number One by Growing Mushrooms

Chapter 361 Discovering Treasure, Escaping Again

Even the shoes on her feet couldn't withstand the high temperature and melted. After walking a few steps, her feet got stuck. Xu Jiawei didn't dare to take off her shoes and could only pray that the soles wouldn't burn through, since she didn't have many pairs of shoes to change into.

But this isn't a solution. She should just fly. She only brought four pairs of shoes. If she uses them all here, will she have to walk barefoot from now on? If she encounters a no-fly zone, then she'll be out of luck.

Strange things always happen in this area, which is why she doesn't want to use levitation. She could easily fall in, and if she fell into lava, it would hurt, but she would lose one of her golden bodies.

Xu Jiawei decided that even if she were to fly, she would only fly to the vicinity of the crater. If she were to actually enter the crater and be prohibited from flying, it would be no joke; it would mean she was actually practicing swimming in the lava.

Flying through the air, with still-warm lava beneath her feet, and occasional sparks flying and hitting her, burning small holes in her clothes, she dared not fly too high, fearing a flight ban and a fall that would cost her half her life. She could only endure the lingering effects of the disaster.

Under the scorching heat of the Martian, Xu Jiawei flew to the crater. She half-squatted on the ground and peered into the crater. Less than 10 meters below was splashing lava. Just looking at it made Xu Jiawei feel like she was about to be cooked.

Is there really treasure down there? Can she really retrieve it amidst the raging lava?

Xu Jiawei thought for a while. If the God of Fire would hide treasures under lava, would the God of Emotions do the same?

Or perhaps throwing it into the lava was just a ruse, and the object never actually came out of the lava; she'd have to go down and check.

But she swallowed hard. If she went down, wouldn't she really be burned to ashes?

She had to find a foolproof solution. First, she needed to test if the levitation function still worked. If it did, things would be much easier.

Using her talent, she created a long, plank-like mushroom and placed it directly on the crater. She then tried to float towards the plank, but as soon as she passed the crater, she felt the gravity and crashed directly onto the plank.

Fortunately, she was prepared. If she hadn't, she would be taking a bath in the lava right now. Xu Jiawei quickly walked back to the edge of the volcano, while the mushrooms, softened and burned by the high temperature of the crater, fell into the lava.

Now she was in a dilemma. What should she do? The rope wouldn't work either; it would probably catch fire in less than two seconds. Xu Jiawei frowned. She could only resort to a clumsy method.

She took out her weapon, a gleaming staff, grinned, and said, "My dear staff, I'm sorry."

She plunged her staff directly into the stone wall and then took out another weapon, which she had obtained from another diamond treasure chest. She had kept the semi-colored treasure chest unopened.

Xu Jiawei sighed, saying that the staff had suffered a lot because of her. It was clearly a god-level weapon, but now Xu Jiawei was using it as rock climbing equipment.

Xu Jiawei hadn't used weapons much before, so she was very slow, crawling slowly along the wall. She encountered all sorts of problems, such as getting her weapons stuck in the rock face and not being able to pull them out, or getting her arms or legs burned by the heat of the rock face.

Xu Jiawei feels like a roast duck hanging in an oven right now.

It will be cooked soon. Although she's not afraid when it's cooked, she has such good recovery ability that she can recover in less than a second.

But the smell of her own grilled meat made her feel nauseous.

Hanging in mid-air, Xu Jiawei did not blindly continue to descend. Instead, she observed her surroundings, but the intense heat of the fire made it impossible for her to see anything clearly.

She hung in mid-air for a full hour and couldn't see anything different. Could it be that she guessed wrong?

The real treasure is really beneath the lava? That's so heartless! How much do they not want anyone else to get it?

Xu Jiawei glanced around again, unwilling to give up. This time, she was blinded by a bright light. Where did this light come from? She hadn't seen it before, but now it seemed to have appeared suddenly.

Xu Jiawei observed the area again and suddenly realized that it was indeed a newly appeared light, because the position of the magma was slowly descending, and the light seemed to have appeared from the bottom after the magma's position had dropped.

It turned out she had arrived too early; the light hadn't appeared yet. Xu Jiawei found her target and began to crawl towards the bottom step by step. The lava was descending faster and faster, which was a good thing; she wouldn't have to worry about getting burned. Maybe once the lava solidified, she could just jump down.

But don't do anything reckless; your life is more important.

She moved like a wriggling maggot, inching forward. Two hours later, Xu Jiawei finally moved down. She wiped the non-existent sweat from her forehead, as the sweat had evaporated completely. She felt like dried jerky.

Now she could finally see what the glowing thing was; it looked like a mirror-like box, but she had no idea what was inside.

There was a small stone platform where the box was placed, which was fine to stand on. Xu Jiawei let go and jumped down. Immediately, a sizzling sound came from under her feet, and the soles of her shoes melted quickly, emitting a foul stench. Xu Jiawei's face changed. Was she about to become the wicked queen in Snow White?

Isn't this punishment enough? Does she still have to dance? Xu Jiawei still has the leisure to think of hellish jokes.

She reacted quickly and fished the box out, her arm sizzling and breaking out in several blisters.

Xu Jiawei instinctively wanted to throw the box away, but reason stopped her.

Upon seeing this, the red earthworm immediately jumped out of the pet backpack. As soon as it touched the ground, it was scalded and jumped three feet high, flailing its arms and legs. Xu Jiawei's mouth twitched. The red earthworm found that the vines under its feet were burnt, so it released its ice attribute and created a layer of ice under its feet, barely making a place to stand.

The ice was melting rapidly. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the red earthworm unleashed its talent directly at the box. A layer of ice appeared on the outer shell of the box, which sizzled and evaporated quickly. The red earthworm then added another layer.

The hissing sound from the box subsided. Xu Jiawei took the box; it wasn't as hot to the touch as before, but now it was burning her feet. She felt heat on the soles of her feet; oh no, the soles of her shoes were about to burn through.

Xu Jiawei quickly stuffed the red earthworm into her pet backpack, put the box into the small bag on her back, and jumped up lightly. She grabbed the weapon with both hands, and in just a short while, the weapon inserted into the rock wall was already hot.

The tangy smell made Xu Jiawei smell the barbecue again, but the thought that the smell was coming from her made her feel terrible.

The red earthworm stretched out another branch and unleashed its talent directly at the weapon, which now stopped being hot.

Red Earthworm is really good. Although he was rebellious at first, what child isn't rebellious? Look how obedient he is now. Xu Jiawei is very gratified. Red Earthworm is really well-behaved now.

After sighing, Xu Jiawei continued to wriggle.
