Magical Cat

Chapter 98 Elion Valentis

"You are a smart, diligent and studious student!" The old dean nodded in satisfaction, but his gaze remained on Li En.

Li En and Elaine stared blankly at the old dean, wondering what he was going to do.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am the Dean of this Academy, Elion Valentis."

The old dean extended his hand and gently shook hands with Elaine.

Then, turning to Li En, he also extended his hand.

After thinking for a moment, Li En still offered his paw, and the old dean shook hands with him solemnly.

The scene left the people in the library stunned.

"Didn't they say the dean doesn't like furry little animals?" someone muttered.

"Looks like it's just a rumor."

After greeting everyone and offering a few words of encouragement to Li En and Elaine, the old dean slowly walked away, completely ignoring the strange looks he was getting.

"There's something strange about this dean."

Li En frowned, staring at the old dean's departing figure.

Li En could not sense even the slightest fluctuation of magic power from him.

This was the first time Li En had encountered someone like this at the magic academy.

He wouldn't misunderstand that the old headmaster didn't know magic, after all, such a guess was too outrageous.

They would only assume that the other party's magical skill had reached a level of returning to simplicity.

After reading for a while longer in the library, Li En and Elaine left.

They went outside, but did not see the old dean.

"I thought the old dean greeted us because he had something to say to us. Now it seems like it really was just a greeting," Elaine said uncertainly.

Not to mention Elaine, even Li En was completely bewildered, not knowing what the old dean meant by suddenly coming over to talk to them.

Prior to this, they seemed to have never had any interaction with the old dean.

The only time was when Corbrain got into a fight with Sophia, the female teacher who lived next door to him.

That evening, Li En met with the old dean, Professor Parker, and other teachers from the academy.

"Strange, what exactly does this old dean mean?"

……

In the evening, Brian came to the dormitory to pick up Li En as usual.

The two, one person and one cat, have long been accustomed to this kind of nightlife.

Hearing a noise outside the window, Li En yawned and climbed out, jumping right out the window so that Corbyn could catch him.

Then Brian used Flash to rush back to his dormitory.

But an unexpected incident occurred today.

After a few flashes, Cobra brought Li En to an unfamiliar place.

Looking at the spacious and tidy unfamiliar room in front of him, Li En's eyes showed a look of doubt. Then he looked up at Kobryn.

It turned out that Corbyn didn't look well.

"Mr. Brian, you've been very busy at night lately."

The sound came from the darkness opposite the room.

As soon as the words were spoken, the lights on the other side turned on, illuminating the entire room.

Only then did Li En realize the true nature of the room she was in.

This is a simple and elegant bedroom with a spacious interior and a bed that looks very comfortable.

Diagonally opposite the bed was a huge desk.

This table looks like it was made from a whole log. Although it looks rough, it has a calming woody fragrance.

Behind the wooden-post-shaped desk sat the old dean, who had changed into his pajamas.

Even after changing into his pajamas, the old headmaster still wore that topped magic hat.

The old dean was looking at Corbyn, who was carrying Li En, as if he were watching something interesting.

"Dean, are you still up so late?" Cobra greeted him, quietly hiding Li En behind his back.

His teleportation was interrupted, which is why he ended up here.

And the only person in the entire academy capable of doing this to Corinne is the one right in front of him.

"Mr. Brian, you haven't been sleeping either, have you? I wonder if you'd be interested in having a heart-to-heart talk between us two old men?"

Both Corbyn and the old headmaster looked like old magicians, but one was slovenly and the other was clean-cut, so their styles were quite different.

"I don't have that much time to waste. Just say what you have to say," Corbyn said bluntly.

The old dean seemed to have anticipated Corbyn's reaction and was already used to his attitude towards him.

"In that case, I won't beat around the bush. Corbyn, that cat you're holding seems quite interesting."

Corbyn's expression grew increasingly grim, his face turning frosty.

"Such an interesting experimental subject, it doesn't seem fair that you have it all to yourself, does it?" The old dean revealed his true intentions.

Li En silently shook his head and sighed, looking up at the sky at a 45-degree angle.

"My little kitty is so charming, I can't help it~"

"Unfortunately, I am too busy to satisfy all of you."

Li En is already annoyed enough by accompanying Brian to do research every night, and she doesn't want to be dragged into research by others.

Moreover, being used as a test subject always made Li En feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Corbyn, naturally unwilling to share Li En with the old dean, immediately replied coldly, "What if I don't agree?"

"This matter shouldn't be up to you, should it?" The old dean's tone also turned cold.

"The choice should be made by him!"

The old dean pointed behind Corbyn, clearly referring to Lee En.

Seeing that he could no longer hide, Cobra revealed Lee En behind him.

"Looks like you're very confident." Cobra stared at the old dean, trying to see what methods he had prepared.

The old dean didn't hesitate at all; with a flick of his wrist, a green fruit appeared in his hand.

"The fruit of the Tree of Life will be given away for free to anyone who participates in my experiment!"

Corbyn immediately bristled, yelling, "Hey, don't misuse the dean's resources!"

Then, he turned to Li En and explained, "Don't be fooled by the name 'Tree of Life Fruit.' It has absolutely nothing to do with the Tree of Life. It's just something that's superficial, used to fool people who don't know anything about it. I'm the one who studies this; nobody knows more about it than me!"

Li En blinked, realizing he was now in high demand, and silently turned to look at the old dean.

"Regardless of its name, eating this fruit will genuinely increase your affinity with wood elements and slightly boost your magical power. Corbyn, is that true?" the old dean questioned.

Corbyn was furious, his face flushed, but he couldn't bring himself to lie. He immediately retorted, "Elion, what exactly do you want? How many years has it been since you did any research? Is it fun to try and steal a cat from me?"

"Isn't this because they're afraid of becoming rusty, so they decided to do experiments? And it's rare to encounter such interesting experimental subjects, isn't it?"

The old dean smiled smugly, with an arrogant expression that said, "What can you do to me?"
